Arrived at the end of my second day on the Southern Upland Way. Friendly warden directed me to a pitch for the night.
Toilet and shower facilities were excellent. I used the Dryer in the Laundry Room for some of my damp kit, and charged my phone while I waited.
Had a good nights sleep, and settled my bill in the morning with no trouble.
Would recommend this site.

First class site. Friendly welcome, with layout, etc, clearly explained. Facilities were good and well cared for, despite the site being pretty busy that weekend.
The tent field is separate from the main motorhome/caravan area, well cared for, with level pitches and plenty space.
The only slight downside is that the facilities are at the opposite end of the site, but not a significant issue. It's any easy walk in to Lauder itself, or to Thirlestane castle, with the bonus of reduced admission cost to the castle.
A good base for exploring the area, and recommended.

Facilities very clean, just not enough of them, lots of caravans when we arrived, but only 2 washing up sinks, the plug had gone walkies from 2nd sink !
Some bits of path were tarmac, and some were stones,
A very quiet site, except for toilet door which banged all day and half the night.

Having just bought our new tent I emailed asking if I could book 3 nights but possibly want more (needed to make sure all was well with tent) and was told that was fine the pitch was available 3 nights and longer this was on the Sunday so when we arrived on Tuesday checked in at reception and asked if it was ok to come up next day to confirm extra nights and told that was fine. We were on a ehu pitch which is on the touring field on a bit of a slope but we managed. Next morning went up to pay for extra 3 nights and was told pitch was booked but we could move into tent field. We were disappointed about having to cut our holiday to only 3 nights as we would of either tried other sites or booked the 6 nights and taken the chance our tent was fine and we certainly didn't want to pack up to cross a field and have to set up again !
The site is in lovely surroundings and the caravan owners were very friendly. The ladies toilet/shower blocks have just been refurbished, there is only one wash up sink which did get busy at times this is in a small shed with a fridge, washer and dryer. The children's play area looked good
We were told by a caravan owner that you can catch a bus to Edinburgh from outside of the site which takes 1 half hours
10 minute stroll into very quiet village Tesco 20 minutes
Wifi charge is £5 per day but we didn't use
I would still recommend this site as it has a lovely quiet feel to it

We moved our static caravan from an other site to Thirlestane Caravan Site, has to be the best move we ever did, not only is the site stunning with nice views, the managers are top class and cant do enough to help you. This has to be the best caravan site in the Scottish Borders.
So glad we moved here.

A site we shall definitely return to, it probably doesn't suit everyone but for the price it is reasonable value for money. £18. 00 for our motorhome per night. Good walks from the site. We went into Lauder around 10 mins stroll and ate at the Black Bull - average food fairly reasonable in price. Dog friendly pub.
Facilities were clean on the site. 20% discount at the castle for guests too which is good. Nice tearooms at the castle.

Just a stopover, we hadn't booked. Friendly welcome, £16 on (long) grass with EHU, there were no hardstands available. It's a sloping site, so we had to use our chocks. Motorhome service point is easily accessible. Toilet block is clean. Gates are shut at night, so a very early start might not be possible. Zero mobile phone signal, pay for WiFi. Dog walk is off-site along the quiet drive to the castle, but there are stock in the fields & rabbits in the woods so our dog stayed on the lead. Lauder is good for stocking up the food cupboard, the Fat Cat is a nice wee gallery & coffee shop. Plenty to do in the wider area.

Just returned from this site, Can't speak highly enough. Lovely peaceful and spotless site. Lots of free hot water in the very clean showers and toilets. The owner couldn't have been more accommodating unfortunately we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Leslie and Scott (the manager's ) but those who have could not be more complementary. There is a lovely playpark for the kids and woods to explore also a river for flyfishing at £5 a day. No on site shop but not a big deal as local shops five minutes away. The Castle is well worth a visit and the guides are very knowledgeable, there's a tea shop with a small gift area. Lauder is a very small but friendly town (so be prepared to say hello) with a few shops butchers, bakery, post office and a co-op to name a few. The Blackburn pub does a very good Sunday roast and is very reasonably priced, there also other eateries which we didn't have the time to use but others again spoke highly of them. Looking to book next visit soon

After many years of touring, this year was the first time we have plumped for a seasonal pitch.
What can I say, the site is not too big and is friendly and clean (the fact that the toilets are old doesn't bother me - cleanliness is the important thing).
There are plenty of bin and water points and the grey waste isnt a million miles away either (I read they were in previous reviews)!
Since we arrived at the beginning of the season there is a new play area which my 3 think is awesome.
Scott and Lesley are lovely - couldn't ask for more.
There are loads of walks straight from the site.
Overall it is a relaxing place to visit where the kids don't even miss the TV!
