Gravel road full of pot holes leading up to site, we were shown to pitch and given local information. Pot wash was a basic 2 sinks with plenty of hot water. Only 1 fresh water tap situated in middle of the site. I did not see an elsan point. Showers x2 toilets x2 £1 for 6 minutes not much room and only 1 peg to hang towels clothes. Nowhere to put shampoo etc.
Good base for Buxton, Bakewell and Manchester - lovely area.

We booked in to Staden Grange as our first camping trip in 5 years, the first with our Son and the first in our new tent.
On arrival the site was very quite and we where shown to our pitch and given a run down of the facilities and left to pitch up. We where in the none electric side felt more spread out than the electric side.
We had plenty of space and the ground was good to firm and even ater plenty of rain drained very will. There is a slight slope on this side of the site but nothing much.
Rules are simple and provided on checkin, all common sense really.
The toilets and showers where ace, cleaned at least twice a day and although small, did not get busy.
The pot washing facilities where fine but some other campers who felt it ok to pour fat and cereal down the sink caused a few issues, but nothing more.
Others have mentioned you drives through an industrial park to get to the sitem but this is nothing that would be a suprise to anyone who looks on a map. Once on the site you could be anywhere.
All in all a great site, and it was nice to see the owner makeing the rounds in the evening. My little boy loved it too, plenty of space and area to explore.

Booked in for 3 nights, only stayed two! The website stated it had a bar but on arrival we were told it was only for B & B customers! We were also told on the phone it had hard standing. Arrived The first evening and were told we could park anywhere. After driving up the gravel road in order to swing around to go nearer to the road we got stuck in Mud so stayed there the first night, owners were helpful the next day & helped pull us out. We were then told to park on the gravel area next to the road. Woke up the next morning with workmen with small diggers working next to us! This went on for a while so we decided enough was enough & time for home. The showers were clean, however was a few problems with the water going off & they were charging £1 for a 6 min shower. The site was very near an industrial park that you drive on to in order to get to Staden Grange. Not the type of site we expected and we will not return.

Had a nice time relaxing time at this site, which is what we went for, lovely toilet and shower block, although would like to see them in a few years time, to say it is a warm and friendly campsite would be telling lies, we did not see anybody the whole week we were there, and being a new campsite you would think the owners would make an effort, maybe just once to see how we are. Ideal for travelling to all the local towns, Bakewell is well worth a visit, they advertise a lounge and bar, but it is not for the second class campers, all in all had a relaxing stay, but will not be going back, far too near an industrial estate,

Good little campsite, £16 for the night with hook up. Brand new toilet block with clean showers, hand driers, plenty of toilet roll and soap. Nice relaxed atmosphere, friendly welcome and plenty of space to spread out. No shop and didn't get shown bar facilities that were advertised on the website but plenty to do in Buxton centre (15 min walk or £6 in a taxi). List of good places to eat and taxi numbers are available at reception. Only improvement would be to provide recycle bins. We will definitely be back and with family.

Had a weekend here. Will not be going back, the site needs a really good tidy up, with overgrown weeds and grass around all trees & the tap. Very busy with only 2 showers/toilets. Bar advertised on web, not for campers?. View of industrial estate which you have to drive through to get to the site. Geared more for the b&b side rather than camping, maybe an ongoing project??. On the + side pitch in the shade

We visited this campsite in June on possibly one of the worst weekends for weather so far this year. We were greeted with an extremely warm and friendly welcome and loved this site from the minute we arrived. This is a relatively new site and as others have mentioned, it is rustic in places. However, we were able to pitch wherever we wanted and there was plenty of access to EHU's. The owner has mentioned that there is still a lot of work to do to this campsite (including adding to their menagerie to make a small petting zoo) but for us it was perfect. There is no bar or shop but that doesn't bother us at all. A kiddies play park might be a welcome addition but there is plenty of space amongst the trees for kids to play. The toilet/shower unit is brand new and immaculate and even though £1 might be a bit expensive for 6 mins, it was worth it for the hot water and lovely shower area. The only thing missing really, was a plug socket for a hairdryer.
Other reviews have mentioned the industrial estate. Yes you do have to drive through it on the way to the site but once you're there it isn't at all noticeable except for from the pitch at the very top corner. Really not a problem at all.
Overall, we loved this site. So much so we are visiting again this weekend and are also planning to go back with friends and family.

Went bank holiday at end of may for 2 nights. Weather was very windy as high up, and is shaded by trees so wasn't able to sit out as too cold even though was hot weekend. New toilet and shower block, but showers expensive at £1 for 6mins. Kids enjoyed looking at rabbits and guinea pigs but could probably do with childs play area. Is in fantastic all round area as close to bakewell or buxton. Would probably return in future

We stayed at Staden Grange during the Bank Holiday between 3-6th May. Upon our arrival we received a very friendly welcome by the owners who showed use where to pitch our tent, which was basically anywhere except where two family parties had pre-booked.
One of our focus points for us as a family when choosing a campsite is the toilet/shower facilities and I must say, I had doubts given the previous reviews. However, upon our arrival at Staden Grange it became apparent that the new toilet/shower block had arrived just in time for the bank holiday weekend. The static facilities were impressive although there was obvious 'teething problems' including problems with the boiler and limited supplies of toilet rolls. To maintain the high standard of this new facility, the owners need to ensure they prioritise the maintenance and supplies of toilet rolls. The showers were £1 for 6 mins. When problems occurred we were advised to use the located bathroom within the B & B which were 'ok' as a one off.
Our pitch was spacious and we had sufficient space for parking. Our children had plenty of space to play around the tent and loved the animals in the adjoining field (rabbits and guinea pigs). The owners stated that they are in the process of obtaining permission for a larger farm to include Llamas, pigs etc.
Another bonus for us when camping is a play area for our children although they entertained themselves by playing football, cricket and going to see the animals. It has to be said that we did not miss a play area and neither did our children. In fact they want us to book to come here again very soon.
To summarise, this site is still in the early stages of development. The owners here are so friendly and made us feel very welcome. They clearly have plans in place and are keen ensure campers enjoy their stay. The toilet/shower situation is still in need of attention despite the new block however. I'm sure this will improve in time.
Thanks for a lovely stay, we will definitely return.

We stayed for a long weekend in August. We stayed in EHU field and after a lovely welcome from the owners we chose our pitch. The pitch itself was lovely, under trees and place to park the car too.
The shower/toilet facilities are somewhat disappointing though, the 1 shower for females and 1 for males is not even adequate and we queued for some 30 mins to shower. The toilets were also not acceptable, no lighting, no cover at see through glass.
The owners are trying their best to run a B&B and camp site at same time but could be better concentrating on getting site finished prior to accepting paying campers.
We would be very unlikely to return although I am sure once complete this will be a great site.
