We have just returned from one of the best camping holidays that we have ever had. The major factor in this was the welcome that we received at Camping La Vallee. We liked the size of the site and the lack of formality combined with the excellent facilities. As everyone else has described, the site itself is really pretty with good sized and well laid out pitches. The loos and showers were always clean (and hot!) and the laundry facilities were perfect. There was plenty of space for washing up too and everything was very compactly arranged. Our boys (aged 3 and 6) had a wonderful time and made good use of the playground, sand pit, ride on toys, table tennis table, basketball net etc etc. There were a variety of children of differing ages but they all got on and played very happily. We also enjoyed the company of the other families who were camping there and there was a very friendly atmosphere. We were extremely impressed with Stephane and his family who worked tirelessly to make sure that everyone was happy. He was always available to provide answers to any questions that we had and was willing to make recommendations re places to eat, beaches etc
The area itself is very attractive and there are plenty of things to do. We thoroughly enjoyed the local beach and it was rarely crowded.
We would certainly like to return to La Vallee again.

Booked La Vallee on the recommendations of the other reviews here and was not disappointed.
The site is well set out with decent size pitches laid out at different levels along the valley. The facilities are modern and clean, with good toilets and showers plus a laundry and washing up facilities.
The site is very family friendly and would be superb for young children with a good playground.
It is a quiet site, with no noise after 11pm. Most of the campers were very friendly and charming dutch, german and french tourists with just one or two other Brits.
Special mention must be made of the owner Stephan. He was superb, really helpful fantastic English and seemed to work all day to keep the site running smoothly.
As for the area - really good beaches for swimming and beach sports, beautiful coastal walks and excellent local markets. Longer trips to Dinan and St Malo well worth it.

We have just returned from our second visit to this fabulous site. Stephane and his wife are friendly and efficient and work tirelessly to keep the site's facilities spotless.
The pitches are separated by hedges to give some privacy. We used our smaller 5 man tunnel tent; I don't think that the pitches could accommodate some bigger tents around.
There is a lovely little playground where my two boys played and met friends from the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands. The toilet block is always clean and there is plentiful hot water. The site was almost full when we were there but we never had to queue.
The area is beautiful and the beach at St Pabu is only five minutes walk away and clean and sandy with rock pools. The surrounding area is stunning with lots of small towns with markets to visit. This is one of my all-time favourite sites and I can't wait to go back next year!

Fabulous fabulous campsite, such a wee gem. Not for those wanting action packed. We stayed in an on site safari tent and it is the way to camp. Absolutely no complaints. Even the rotten weather didn't put a dampner on our stay. Spa is well worth a visit.
The toilet and showers were always clean. Good laundry facility to wash and dry which with the weather we had was essential! The small size of the sight allowed us to meet lovely people, visiting from afar, Ireland, Canada, Holland and local.
The beach is great fun especially for young kids and the local towns are lovely. Have to say the Brettons have to be some of the friendliest people in France.
Excellent for the price, totally thanks to Stephane who is the hardest working host with the most.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing 14 nights on a fabulous site. The owner and his wife made us feel very welcome, and very secure. Stephan was always around and about, either working or helping new arrivals, and always had time to chat.
Local area could not be faulted, with great beaches and great local towns. Site facilities were very clean, nice playground and games area for younger kids.
Not great locally for cycling as it is very hilly, although if we had not been so lazy, there was a nice few circular routes we could have taken. Also if its bar or pool you want, its not for you. If you are into peace and tranquillity, look no further.
I have to say, we met the friendliest French, Dutch, Scottish and Haitian people we have ever met on a campsite. We were inclined to think, this well reflected the site itself!

Excellent, peaceful, well maintained campsite just 700 yards from beautiful, large beach - one of many in the area.
Large, flat pitches mostly separated by hedges. Good play area for kids. Toilets and showers always spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water.
Owner speaks good English and could not have been more helpful. He even arranged for bread to be delivered each day even though there were few of us on site at that time of year.
Numerous opportunities for scenic coastal walking - try the walk from the lighthouse on Cap Frehel to Fort La Latte. Well worth the effort and visiting the fort itself is good value at 5 euro.
Many attractive coastal towns in the area. Our favourite was nearby Erquy which was less touristy than some but, like nearly all of the others, has a nice harbour surrounded by a number of good restaurants serving excellent seafood.
Out of season the site accepts the ACSI card which meant that we had our choice of pitch with electric for just 14 euros per night. An absolute bargain.

We had a lovely time here. Nice site and the beach was truly fabulous. Echo what everyone else has said.
We went at the end of August and had pre-booked but there were only a couple of pitches available.
The pitches were on the small side though and mostly square. This was a slight problem for us as we have a large tunnel tent and even though Stephan did his best to find a pitch to accommodate us, we only just managed to squeeze on our picnic table and had to leave our car at reception.
Several nationalities here but they were all very friendly - helping us put up and take down our tent in the rain!

An absolutely lovely campsite. Ideal for a quiet, relaxing holiday as the campsite is quite small by French standards and doesn't have a pool so a calm atmosphere pervades.
Pitches are terraced, the ones higher up (where we were) seemed a bit of a squeeze but had water, elec & hedges. Facilities kept very clean and the owner was really friendly and helpful.
Beautiful views over the countryside from our pitch and pleasant walk to local beach, which benefited from lovely warm sea. Short drive to supermarket and several local towns. Had a really yummy meal out in family run restaurant in Pleneuf Val Andre (can't remember the name sorry).

This was my wife's first ever camping trip so she was very nervous about spending 5 nights under canvas! After reading the reviews on this website I booked Camping La Vallee. When we arrived Stéphane greeted us (his English is far better than my French!) and showed us to our pitch. The site is small and friendly with great facilities: a park with sand, climbing frame, swings, basketball and lots of toys for the children, a TV room with table football (50c per game) and pool table, 4 warm, not hot (perfect for children) showers, toilets (including 1 for children only), outside urinals for the gentlemen, 2 washing machines (4 Euros) and drying facilities along with power sockets for shavers, hair-dryers etc. Everyone is very respectful and there was no loud noise/music.
The location is 600-700m from the local beach, which is quiet, safe and great for walks or swimming. The local town, Erquy, has lots of facilities and we had a great meal at the restaurant La Marmite (they don't speak English there which gave me chance to practice my French). There is also a large Super you supermarket which does discount petrol, clothes and cooking equipment. There is also a take away pizza restaurant on site which always seemed busy and well priced (we didn't eat there though). The local E Leclerc supermarket sells camping equipment, which proved useful when we needed a new inflatable bed.
Stéphane also takes orders for fresh bread and pastries delivered each day and our children loved walking down to pick it up every morning. He will also tell you about the surrounding area and sell WiFi tickets if you need web access while you're there. The little shop sells essentials like UHT milk, ice creams, biscuits, cold beer and local farm cider. He also rents ice packs if required.
Each pitch is separated by a hedge, which gives great privacy, and shares a tap with the pitch next door. There is also a spa, but we didn't try it.
Anything bad? No, only having to come home! 10/10 highly recommended and we are going to go back for 2 weeks next year.

Brilliant site! We spent 12 days at Camping La Vallee and loved every minute. The site is peaceful, friendly and Stephane and his wife are great. Toilets are spotless, showers hot and there are good clothes and dish washing facilities too.
We really enjoyed foraging at the various beaches, with the expert help of Stephane's wife on what we could and couldn't eat and where to find them, and ate something freshly found or caught practically every night (if you go, make sure you try the 'Donace', they're delicious).
The local beaches are beautiful and the sea temperature really surprised us (a balmy 19-20 degrees!).
Perfect site for young children (ours ranged from 5 to 10 years). Small enough for them to go and get the morning bread and freezer blocks without getting lost, and a play area/sand pit kept ours happy when we were cooking.
If you're after a small friendly, peaceful site with charm and no karaoke. Then you'll be hard pressed to find a better site than camping La Vallee!
Thank you Stephane - we'll be back!
