First weekend out since lockdown began, and it was a delight. Even the pouring rain didn’t dampen our enthusiasm.
We had a mini pod, which was a blessing in the rain, it also meant my 10 year old could browse the internet during the rain as it comes with usb charging points and small lights.
Not much room to move about but we knew that so no issue there.
The mini pods are situated at the head of the camp which was yet another blessing as this means also not far from the wc/shower block (lovely, clean and spacious for showering; I hate doing it in those tiny blocks) and convenient for those middle of the night trips (don’t forget your torch).
Didn’t get to see much of the surrounding area as we were meeting up with friends so spent a lot of time round the camp fire.
Great play area in the centre for children so they are always in your eye line.

We've just got back from our 3rd visit at this great site. We use it whenever we buy a new tent as its only 20 mins from home!
This is a brilliant site for those with younger kids as all the tents and vans are around the edge of the field and there is a massive grass play area in the centre with a adventure climbing frame. So sit back, enjoy a drink and watch the little ones make new friends.
The toilets are heated and were kept very clean whilst we were there. The site was full whilst we were there and despite there being only 2 toilets and showers (in the gents) it was rare that you needed to wait.
The site is slightly exposed as it is on a gently sloping hillside however most of the pitches are protected by the hedge that runs down 2 sides of the site.
The only negative thing we noted is that the pitches at the bottom of the site tend to hold water if there is any sustained rain but apart from that we had a fantastic weekend.
Oh and the sun even came to pay a visit, which definitely helps!

Just back from 3 nights at this Site our first time, and first time in our Motorhome.
Reasonable £20 per night for the two of us and two dogs, the Pitches are Hard Standing not the widest we have been on but still ok.
The Toilet Block is Clean but Cold. There was No Heating at all and it was a Quick Shower and get out. Owner is lovely and her Daughter was Pleasant too.
There is not much around and unless you can walk a car is needed. We walked into Darwen from the Site. The Site was three Quarter full but it was so quiet no noise at night.
The Views are lovely but as we had rain on and off for the 3 days we did not experience the best the site had to offer.
Nothing for the kids as no park but lots of grass in the middle of the site for them to play and the site is flat.
We will go back as its 32 miles from us.

We chose this site as it was close to a venue we were attending, I realised it was a working farm so did not expect too much but to my pleasant surprise the site is lovely and the toilet/shower block was spotlessly clean.
We enjoyed great days out to Southport and Morecombe and had a really pleasant stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
The only negative was that the sat-nav directed us to another farm in the area, the lady there politely gave us precise directions of how to get to Brocklehead which was only 2 minutes away but can imagine she would appreciate better signage to the site.
We tour a lot to many different locations and I don't always leave reviews but this site was nothing but pleasant, I even posted a beautiful sunset in Lancashire photo for my friends to see on Facebook :D Great Value for Money too

Lovely unplanned stay here! The exhaust gave up on the motorway near the Darwen exit, and we see lucky enough to find a garage still open (Anchor MOT on the Blackburn Road, who were most helpful).
Close by was Brocklebank, an elevated site with lovely views, spotless facilities and friendly welcome. Very reasonably priced, and convenient to Darwen and Blackburn.
The Cathedral proved well worth a visit, and a free concert by the King's Regiment brass band!
Will use here again when in the area!

Recently visited this site for the third time, spectacular views, wide pitches and lovely clean facilities. HOWEVER.
On arrival this time we were greeted by seven touring vans in a row, all accompanied by commercial vehicles, pickups etc, and with road maintenance equipment on the back, at first we thought the owners had allowed travellers on site but after speaking to her were told that they were all workers.
Nothing against work vehicles obviously, but not ideal when your looking forward to a relaxing and peaceful weekend away.
I may add that apart from early morning traffic noise from the vans, it wasn't a problem and would visit again after enquiring with the owner whether or not work vehicles were going to be on site at the time of my visit.

Lovely campsite, ideal for a weekend away, close to home. Campsite is clean and owners are friendly and helpful. Facilities- showers, toilets and sinks for washing up are spotless. There's obviously bins for rubbish too that were emptied daily and toilet disposal and drinking water tap. Notice boards are available with up to date information about the local pubs and things to do. The Punch Bowl is in easy walking distance and welcomes children and dogs. The children had fun on the small playground central to the campsite.
Yes the campsite is windy but our tent stood up well to the test with its steel poles!

Booked for one night to go walking nearby. From the initial phone call the friendliness was obvious. The directions to get there were clear and accurate. When we arrived the welcome was even friendlier. The camping field has amazing 360 deg views. There were only 2 other caravans on it the night we stayed, so it was VERY quiet and peaceful. There is a children's mini playground in the middle of the field, so if you have young children (ours are grown) you would be able to see them clearly from your tent/van. The toilet block was very clean and excellent, with 2 toilet rooms and sinks with hot water, as well as 2 shower rooms with a toilet and sink with hotwater inside them. They were clean, spacious rooms, so showering and dressing in them is comfortable. The whole block was clean, spacious and comfortable. At the back of the block there is a washing up sink and a water tap. It was raining heavily when we arrived but the hard stands and paths are gravelled and well drained. We had a wonderfully peaceful evening, only disturbed by a visit from the cows in the next field who stuck their heads over the fence and bellowed at us till we came out to say hello. We did call into the local village pub on the way to this site. It was a traditional pub, no glass and crome here, with a friendly welcome. My husband popped down to the local shop in the evening for some wine, it was well stocked and open late. When asked what time we needed leave the next morning, we were told when we were ready. Which made for a lovely, relaxed breakfast before heading off just before lunch. All in all a gem of a site that we would visit again in a heartbeat.
