This is a fabulous little site set in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. We came here because my wife was on a course for the weekend close by, and stayed an extra day because it was so good. Richard, the site manager is very helpful and went to great pains to make sure we had a large enough area for us to spread out with our dog fence, and came to make sure we were all right when we were set up.
The dog walking area on the edge of the site is a field that has had tracks cut around it with a lawnmower. Plenty of distance to walk around, even if you don't get very far!
The facilities are clean, the shower costs £1, but its well worth it for continuous hot water and not having to press the button every 10 secs. One small note, there is no mirror in the gent's toilet, so you have to go into the shower room for a shave in the morning (or shave in your caravan)
The village of Hingham is a few minutes walk away for basic shops and an excellent pub with fantastic food, so no need for a shop on site.
Really enjoyed my stay and if I'm going to that area of Norfolk again, I'll probably go back.

Just back from a lovely couple of nights at this quiet site. There are 12 numbered pitches but they also have an area at one end of the site, closer to the road, for people with smaller tents (like ours) to just pitch where they want so we were a little bit away from the main section of the site, in among trees, right by the lake
It meant an extra couple of minutes walk to the facilities block, but that didn't bother us! The facilities block itself is clean and well maintained.
There is a shower, washing machine and dryer, all coin-operated, and a microwave, a fridge and freezer available to use for free. As someone who usually camps with a young family but on this rare occasion was away with only an adult companion, I very much appreciated the calm of an adult-only site, and rates are extremely reasonable too!
I'm sure we'll be back

Love this site. The owner Richard is very helpful and will always spend time for a chat. There are 2 toilet/showers, the older cost 50p and the new one £1 which was large, hot and I never ran out of water.
Only one water point in the main camping area which was difficult to reach for our motorhome, so we used one in the adjacent rally field. Despite the weather the fishing was excellent particularly the tench. I had a 7lb and two 6lb fish and loads of carp up to 8lbs.
There is a bus stop a short distance away which we used to go into Norwich, There is pub and two cafes, one, the Lincoln, served a good Sunday lunch. Hingham also has a butcher, baker,
Greengrocer and general store.
Will be back

This is a wonderful site, small, clean, friendly and very well run. The pitches are large with plenty of room to spread out, and although by a fast main road into the village, the traffic noise was never an issue. The owner/manager Richard was very helpful and friendly.
The village is safe to walk to along a path all the way, 10 mins to the pub (dog friendly in the bar and garden), bakers, general store and butcher.
Thankyou for a lovely week,
Julia, Neil and the big brown flat-coat Bran.

Spent 2 lovely weeks here. The owner was busy getting the hay in, didn't see a lot of him but when we did he was polite and chatty, then there's the warden and his wife, the regulars who help out in his absence, who were always making sure we were ok, gave us plenty of info on the fishing and things to do in the local area.
The site is small and friendly, for those fisher people amongst you, me and my brother in law caught plenty of carp up to about 7lbs on 8mm hard banded pellets fishing the margins in the evening ( £3 for 4 hours is spot on ).
Would not hesitate to go back or recommend to anyone who wants to chill out.
Well done

This was our very first weekend away with our Caravan, upon arrival we were made to feel very welcome by the owner and later his brother, they offered as much help as we needed in setting up and showing us where everything was.
Everyone on the site was extremely friendly and helpful. We felt the facilities was basic, but; perfect for what we needed.
Overall the site was very good value for money.

So one year on from our last review, I thought it was time for an update.
Site is still fantastic, fishing is still excellent and the village of Hingham still has an excellent pub.
Site facilities have been improved by with the addition of a new toilet and shower block.
My only really small criticism would be that in my opinion the back lake should be for residents/members only.
But this shouldn't detract from another enjoyable stay, will be back again soon.

This site is one off the best sites I have been in norfolk. It is an adult only site. It is spotless and has new shower block which is spotless. It is very peaceful and very quiet.
Just a little walk down the road and your in to the lovely village off hingham with bakers butchers and small supermarket which sells everything you need. Been to this site before and must say it has vastly improved.
The owner who runs it is so helpful nothing too much trouble, he so friendly. This is a must site for anyone who loves peace and quiet and fishing too. Lots of fish caught while we were there, hubby didn't take his gear this time but owner offered to lend him his and a few other people did also but we were visiting family so didn't have time.
If we didn't have work we would have stayed for rest of the season I am sure off that, but we will be back very soon.

Had a amazing holiday, we went away for a long weekend. My best mate joined us at last minute for one night. We were all made very welcome. The site was well looked after. Toilet blocks were always clean and tidy.
I like the way the campsite was surrounded by ponds. I love the countryside, it made me feel so relaxed. We did quiet a lot of walk into Hingham. In The town I loved how a lot of the old building had been kept and restored.

Just returned from our first visit and it wont be our last.
By their own admission they would like to improve the facilities and this is being addressed. In the meantime there is only one toilet and one shower, but with the size of the site, only 7 pitches this is not a massive problem.
Welcomed by the very friendly and very helpful warden Jackie you are made to feel at home straight away.
2 reasonably sized fishing lakes which are suitable for all levels of fishing. We caught some decent sized carp and good to see them in excellent condition.
Locally, Hingham is a ten minute walk away where the White Hart pub is well worth a visit.
Close to being an ideal site for us, small, friendly, clean with good fishing. We will shall definitely be returning
