We stayed 2 nights at this campsite on our way to the French Alps. We were placed on a nice pitch near to one of the lakes. The facilities were close for us, but seemed quite a trek for others situated further down the site. They were clean enough but maybe the site could do with another set of wash blocks? We ate in the restaurant one night, it was fairly busy and the takeaway was extremely busy. Food was delicious and the menu was quite substantial. We visited the nearby town of Chalon-sur-saone and wandered around happily looking at the cathedral (which is worth a visit) and small shops. Great for a stop-off on our journey.

POSITIVES
Nice but basic pool. Sauna and jacuzzi are extra.
Good restaurant and takeaway.
Nice setting
Near to motorway and easy to get to.
Helpful staff
NEGATIVES
Expensive - the most expensive campsite we stayed at in our four week tour but not the best equipped. Our ten year old was classed as an adult. Price didn't match the facilities in comparison to other campsites.
Toilets - Too small for the size of the site and could do with a good clean.
Layout - Both toilet blocks are near the chateau so most of the pitches are a bike ride away.
Mosquitoes - Only time I was bitten in four weeks away. I attribute this to the stagnant ponds described as fishing lakes!.

Site in very pleasant location with some pitches having view to fishing lake.
Excellent outdoor pool, there is also a heated smaller indoor pool.
Toilets and showers are good but Unisex.
Did not use restaurant but take-away beef bourguignon and frittes very good value.
Excellent and friendly staff who spoke english.
Wifi seemed ok in the bar area.
**** Would definitely use again if in area.

We liked this site so much we stayed eight days. During our stay there weren't many occupied pitches so it was very peaceful. I imagine in the height of the season it is very busy with both caravanners & campers. The pitches looked a bit worn for what was the start of the season, but they are private & level. The facilities are very good. The restaurant serves good food but at expensive prices. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We enjoyed our bike rides around the adjacent flat countryside. We had a great day out visiting Beaune. The only disappointment was the poor Wi-Fi which could only be accessed at the bar, which itself weasn't always open.

Useful stop off, open well spaced pitches, playground outdoor pool (pretty cold even in July), indoor pool pretty busy! There was a lot for kids to do, including donkey rides and bouncy castles.
Nice restaurant and pretty looking chateau. Shop sold all you needed, and place had a nice feel to it. I would say this was perfect for our needs a pleasant pass though, but a bit remote for me to have a holiday in this area.

This site is very well laid out. Big pitches with water points close at hand. The site is very well maintained. Toilet blocks spotless. Reception was very efficient. The staff speaking a multitude of languages made us feel very welcome. Restaurant exceptionally good and reasonably priced (bookings essential).
Flat countryside made easy cycling and a ride down to the river is rewarded by a riverside bar where a cold beer goes down very well. The small town of Sennecy le Grand is also well within cycling distance.
Unfortunately we were told on leaving that next year they will no longer accept camping cheques which is a shame.

This is a large site owned by the Kawan Village Group located near to Sennecy-le-Grand in Burgundy near the River Saone. The site is set around a Chateau and lake and is split in two with some pitches at the top near to the Chateau but the vast majority are at the bottom past the lake the two sections being connected by a roadway over the lake. Pitches vary in size and are mostly grass although there are a small number of hard standing ones and they are either standard with electric or serviced with electric, water and waste, electricity is rated at 10 amps. Tour Operators are located in the lower part of the site with both mobile homes and ready tents.
There are 2 sanitary blocks, one in each section of the site, both are kept very clean but are stretched when the site is busy. The site has an excellent restaurant, take-away and bar which are all located at the top of the site along with a small shop, reception, 2 swimming pools (1 covered), Jacuzzi and sauna. The take-away serves the local speciality Beef Bourgnin and bread etc can be ordered daily at the shop. The bar has a TV and Internet area and free Wi-Fi connection is available. The site has a large parking area when you arrive and the Reception is located immediately behind you. The owners and staff are very warm and welcoming and English is spoken. Reception also has information leaflets on the area, arranges on-site wine tastings and also provides cycle hire. At the bottom of the site there is also a playground and paddling pool area for younger children.
Overall this is an excellent site set in a nice location around the chateau and lake with lots of wildlife around and lots to do on site. If you like cycling and have brought your bikes there is a very good off road cycle track (Voie Verte) on a former railway line nearby (park in Buzy or St-Gengoux-le-National). This site can cater for all types of holidaymakers whether you are a couple or family with young children and we could highly recommend it.

We visited this site after being very disappointed with La Grappe Dor. What a difference, large pretty level pitches, had no issues apart from that they could do with more water filling points, but all the other facilities were excellent, including the motorhome waste water dump area.
We ate in the restaurant which was also good and reasonably priced for France, wine was expensive relatively speaking though.
We used both the indoor and outdoor pool which were both excellent, wi-fi was slow but manageable. The site does seem to be taken over more though by Eurocamp and statics but there was still loads of pitches and the Chateau is lovely, highly recommended

Our first trip to France we could not have chosen a better site, the staff gave us a warm welcome. The facilities were excellent, and when my wife locked our car keys in the boot the staff in reception could not have been more helpful. I recommend this site to anyone travelling to the Burgundy region. The camp site shop was well stocked, the bar staff were always pleased to see us the food in the cafe was good, the guy running it said he could not speak English but always understood our order. Overall I would give this site 10 out of 10 and look forward to visiting again

We had an excellent pitch right by the pond, which was teeming with wildlife. Saw 2 coypu swimming in it ! Pitches are a good size, plenty of room for our large vehicle hooked up to twin axle caravan for an early morning start. Food in restaurant good, but drinks pricey. Toilets very clean. Nice pool, but no shade. Wouldn't consider it as an overnight stop as 12. 5, approx 20 mins from motorway, but great for a few nights. There is a very basic site in Chalon which was just 5 mins away from motorway.
