We are a family with two children 7 and 4. This was one of our first camping trips in the UK.
We very much enjoyed our stay, facilities were clean and well maintained.
The location was excellent.
Very nice children's play area in the woods.
Highly recommended.

Just like the last review said this is a lovely campsite!
The owners are around every evening to check up on things.
We also had a train ride to Oxford for the day. The washrooms are kept very clean and tidy.

A quiet, well appointed campsite just outside Charlbury. We got there quite late in the day and there was still plenty of space available to pitch - site never seems overcrowded or too busy.
Pleasant walk into Charlbury (although needs care on the roads) where there are three or four pubs and reasonable food options and a Co-op supermarket.
From Charlbury, it's a short journey (either car or by train) to Oxford, Bourton on the Water, Stow etc. So a fantastic base for this side of the Cotswolds.
Showers and toilets are very clean and look recently updated and the kitchen area was very handy.
A little confusing in terms of a reception area - could be more clearly signposted, but a minor quibble. We had a very relaxing couple of days - very highly recommended!

We have visited this site at least once a year since discovering it, I just think the balance of facilities to size of the place is brilliant.
There is a small woods and a 'toy shed' to keep the children entertained, plus enough space for a game of footy in the middle of the field we were in.
Want to try the group field but is very popular and always booked when we have tried.
The walk across the fields to the village is lovely (although first bit on road needs a bit of supervision with small children), but once in the village it has 4 pubs and Co-Op plus a chip van on Friday nights!
Love this site!

A small quiet site in the Cotswolds, Good clean toilets with lovely villages nearby and national tryst type properties on your doorstep.
Plus if you are a small group there is a dedicated field.
Very friendly for kids as they can wander in the woods and build shelters etc plus there is a shed with games available.

Lovely site with owners who were so helpful, even lending us an electric extension for our hook up. Toilet block was spotless and there was a kitchen with microwave which was useful. Nice walk to Charlbury across the fields with 3 good pubs. Only didn't give 10/10 for facilities because if busy more showers would be useful. There was a shed in the middle of the field which contained lots of toys and activities for kids. Pitches were a good size.

We have just returned from a weekend away in our folding camper, with a large group of like minded friends, this included two dogs. The site had superb facilities and adequate space to allow for a relaxing weekend away. There are plenty of footpaths around the surrounding countryside. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Really relaxing site with lots of space, good facilities that were never busy, very friendly & helpful (non-resident) 'facilitators' (can't think of a more appropriate word), immediate access to country walks. One of the best sites I've ever stayed at. My only quibble is with their comments (on another website) about how lovely it is to be woken by the resident wood pigeons: we spent quite a lot of time fantasising about catapults and other ways of sending them on their way.

We last came here 4 years ago. And have always intended come back one day.
The site has increased in capacity but the facilities have also been increased.
A second toilet /shower block and washing up area with an additional fridge has been built.
Another flat field has been incorporated for camping but the site is still as quiet and peaceful to stay on as it was four years ago.
It was pretty busy on the Saturday afternoon when we arrived, but still plenty of space to pitch on and we found a good spot in the top field.
I like the very relaxed attitude of the owners. You just find yourself a spot to pitch in. And set up camp.
Its not all regulated and marked out like some sites!
The Pods are all finished. Look quite cozy if your up for a Winter stop ! There is also a store room for kids games and some scooters in the first field. BBQ's are allowed. And bricks are dotted about to raise them off the ground.
The woods are great for children of all ages to play in. And its safe to let them run around in there. As are some of the trees for climbing. It doesn't have a children's playground that's been custom built. They can build there own 'dens 'etc in the woods and trees (like we used to as kids !)
A great little site. So nice to come back and see its lost none of its charm !
Well worth a visit if your after a nice peaceful spot.

Just had a brilliant bank holiday weekend at this site with a group of friends (8 adults and 8 children (all 6 or under) in total). Everyone agreed that this site was just plain fantastic! New toilet block was very clean and although we were worried that with limited shower facilities we would have to wait, but because of the size of the site this never happened and showers always seemed available. There was no playground for the kids but with space to play ball games and a small wood for the children to go off and explore on their own they loved every minute. We were directed to pitch wherever we liked in a small field and because there was a group of us this was ideal as we could arrange the ourselves as we liked rather than being told to pitch in a line like some sites.
The site is around a mile walk from Charlbury via road and footpaths, but we managed it with all 8 children so not too bad. Charlbury has a few pubs with a co-op shop, and a fish and chip van on Friday and Saturday nights (very nice it was).
The last thing we liked is that open fires were allowed as long as off the ground in fire pits etc. So each night we had a lovely roaring fire. We would definitely visit this site again as loved 'nearly' every minute (Friday night reached around zero degrees so a frost on the tents in the morning but not a lot the owners can do about that!)
