We visited Pentire Haven holiday park in July and we were impressed straight away with this large site. On our arrival the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our pitch was a good size and well spaced out and the grass cut to a good length. The toilet and showers were extremely clean plenty of hot water even a proper hairdryer. The weather was hot all week and the pool was lovely to use, however we did feel a proper path from the pool to the shop would have been nice. The site was quiet which we could not understand as the location is beautiful and a short drive from Bude with its many beaches shops and a lovely canal walk. Also just a short away drive to 2 amazing beaches called Sandy mouth and Duck pool are a must to visit. We would go back and recommend.

I have just spent 3 nights at Pentire Haven Holiday Park and can honestly say it was one of the best camping breaks I have ever had. Friendly staff, huge pitch, clean toilet block, hot showers and we were able to walk to the Penstowe Holiday centre for evening entertainment. I went on my own with 3 of my grandchildren aged 11, 8 and 4. All of them thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and made good use of the lovely outside pool on the campsite. Bude is beautiful and just a very short drive away. We went to two spectacular beaches, Sandymouth and Summerleaze where the kids played in the rock pools and did some body boarding. The local Morrison's also came in handy for shopping. The only problem was trying to keep the food cool in the tent due to the hot weather as the ice blocks kept melting!
Great value for money and I would recommend this site to everyone.

I stayed at this campsite the weekend after the 1st May Bank holiday. I arrived just after 7pm so the reception was closed but there was a clear sign for a number to call. I rang the number there was a lady who came and checked us in. The weather was awful and the tent pitches were really quite exposed to the elements (wind and rain in my case), but because there weren't many campers we were able to move to a more sheltered spot (few and far between), thankfully!
Everyone that was there staff especially were really lovely, helpful and would bend over backwards to help you with anything you need or want.
The toilet block was lovely, clean and tidy. The playground looked like really good fun, although I don't have children it did look like fun!
Just on the other side of the campsite was access to Penstowe Holidays' Leisure club. It was really good games room (pool, dance mat etc) a bar swimming pool loads of other things to do at really quite a reasonable price of £3. 50 for adults.
Bude is lovely, and there is a lovely beach Cafe called Life's a Beach, you can sit outside, looking over the beach.
Overall a lovely place. Can not wait for another reason to return as soon as possible.

My family and I have just returned from a week at this site. This is a nice site and a great base for anyone wanting to visit other places in Cornwall and Devon being right on the A39.
The pitches (we were on a Super Pitch) were a good size and drained well which was handy considering we had some heavy rain. The facilities are good and were always clean and in good condition (and free which is a bonus). The outdoor pool is ok but with a week of nice weather will get very crowded as it is only small. The staff were polite and helpful at all times, had no complaints in this area whatsoever.
The entertainment and leisure facilities are on the adjacent park but it is only a couple of minutes walk which did not cause us any problems. The entertainment in the evening is a bit 'iffy' but to be fair it often is on these kind of sites.
The usual stuff was on: Bingo, kids games followed by a 'tribute' show. We endured ABBA, a decades show and one of the most bizarre Queen tributes shows ever.
The clubhouse and takeaway are nice and never too busy so if you don't mind the traditional british holiday camp entertainment you won't have any problems here. There have been some comments on the expensive facilities on the other site but I can't comment as we didn't use them.
Overall a good site and good value for money. Generally well kept and without doubt in a fantastic, easy to reach location.
Make sure you get out to Bude, Padstow and the fantastic beach at Northcott Mouth which is only about 10 minutes drive away.

Not normally the type of site I like at the time of year, August, that I like to go camping, but it was alright and I really enjoyed my stay.
The friendly welcome upon arrival helped, and when shortly afterwards I ask to move to an adjacent pitch it was no bother whatsoever and I felt at home and relaxed straight away. It appears that the site has new owners this year who are fighting to re-establish its reputation after it was allowed to go to pot by the previous owners, the reason it was relatively quiet for August.
There had been considerable amounts of rain in the previous few days and so parts of the site were very muddy, therefore, we were moved to a hardstanding pitch at no extra cost. It was flat, decently sized and whilst very close to the toilets, a conveniently placed hedge meant that you didn’t notice them.
The facilities were reasonable, fairly modern, showers were large enough to change easily, with a shower curtain to keep your clothes dry. The toilets were cleaned once a day, however, my only gripe would be that they were maybe not cleaned quite thoroughly enough.
There is a shop with the usual basics, including quite a good range of outdoor toys etc, although you will find cheaper elsewhere. There is a small outdoor pool on this site and a larger indoor one of the site next door that you can use at a cost. In fact you are allowed to use most facilities at Penstowe Manor, including the bar and cabaret, an experience I may not wish to repeat too many times.
There are some fantastic views of the surrounding area, including the sea and satellite station. Bude is a 10 minute drive away and proved a very pleasant place to spend a few days. The local village of Kilkampton was a two minute drive away and whilst not overflowing with shops and restaurants it did have a pub that did reasonable food at very reasonable prices.
In conclusion, Pentire Haven is a site that I didn’t expect to like, and while not bowled over by it, I would happily return.

Very good site, in a great location. Staff very helpful and always busy cleaning site. Toilet/Shower blocks very clean, but I feel if site was full there would be queues. Small warm pool on site, but closes to early - 18:30hrs. We would of enjoyed a swim when we got back early evening.
Piches are large enough, if people pitch right. Site was no way full, far from it, but they put tents on top of each other.
This is an excellent site if you have a dog/dogs. We didn't, and with tents so close, dogs both sides and front. Could do with separate fields so you could vhoose if you want dogs around.
Don't be put off, this is a really, really good campsite, but due to dog issue it's not for us again.

Well I don’t usually give feedback because it’s all been said.
But I’ve just returned from 10 days camping here, and it was a perfect site. The site has been well laid out, with plenty of hook-ups and taps etc, just about the right amount of lighting at night. I did bend a few pegs but that’s ok as I prefer the good drainage so take strong pegs or spares.
The site has 3 toilet blocks (2 of them have been refurbished, and the older one is quite fine), these were immaculately clean at all hours of the day, free hot showers, never any queues, washing up sinks were clean and plentiful.
The site was quiet at night, we took a 6 year old and a 2 year old and they both loved the playground and the heated swimming pool, which is small ish but plenty big enough for a few families to enjoy,
Now the only bad points in my opinion were, the walk to the beach, forget it unless your into hiking, it’s just too far, the shop could do with a few more items of food, but I’m sure as it’s their first year and they have spent a fortune on the playground and fences etc etc, they will gradually build the shop up, and I did miss a washer and dryer (English weather), I would take out 1 of the disabled toilets and put a washer dryer and ironing board in.
But that said, it is the best site I’ve ever been on, not 2 busy, not 2 quiet, clean and a refreshing change, the new owners should be proud of what they have got, and hopefully I will be back soon.

Arrived at the site to find beautiful sea views as promised. We checked in, helpful staff directed us to pitch which we found easily, however to our surprise and the staffs someone had already taken the pitch. After driving back to reception we were offered another pitch straight away.
After pitching we had a walk around, showers and toilets were clean and there was an ample covered dish washing area. Showers were hot and never full. Shop stocks basic goods at usual expensive prices. They have a large play area for younger children and a nice outdoor pool.
This park is right next to a larger site which has excellent facilities which you can use at a cost!
We were led to believe that it was £3 for a pass to the leisure facilities, this only covered a swim, nothing else. The Stables Inn on Penstowe Park was a life saver, serving good quality excellent priced food in friendly surroundings which were also dog friendly.
On the down side we experienced awful weather, rain, wind and finally thick fog! Our family could have coped with this weather if we had not been stuck in a field which became a mud pit! Despite other campers complaining as well as myself, we were all expected to slosh through the mud to the toilets or out of the park in our cars. On walking around the rest of the site, the other pitching areas were so much more well equipped to cope with the extreme weather conditions. All having paths and roads therefore not becoming mud pits.
Although the staff were out and about empting bins and cleaning, no one seemed to have a solution for the extreme mud. None of the staff apologised for the mud, whilst I realise the weather is out of their control, surely some hard standing could have been put down or the other exit opened? In hindsight had the staff read weather forecasts, it would have been more beneficial to everyone to have offered the other more well equipped pitches elsewhere to campers as the site was not full. We will not be going back.

Just returned from a week at pentire haven, the site is under new ownership within the last 8 months and have done a great job.
We had a (super pitch) which includes hard standing for caravan and gravel for awning which secured the awning and competed with horrendous winds of 70mph and with held itself, also water, electric, drainage, aerial point.
Toilet and shower block clean, has a small shop, park and outdoor swimming pool on site, very friendly staff,
bude is 5 miles away with a beautiful beach and town centre with a canal for coarse fishing.
Main facilities are at (penstowe holiday park)adjacent to the site, club house entertainment is free, but swimming, badmington, squash, tennis etc can be purchased with a day ticket.
The price for 2 adults and 2 children for a game of badmington would cost you £18 which is completely ridiculous, if you want tennis add another £6. 00 if you want squash add another £6.00 but does include swimming(wow),
I would recommend a weekend at pentire, but bring your plastic friend (visa) if you want to use the facilities at penstowe

The site has new owners and it has improved for the better very clean toilet blocks and has new play area for the kids,
Our pitch like most was good condition well maintained and the owners very friendly and helpful always busy emptying bins cleaning etc
Overall a great site, and a credit to the new owners
