A very pleasant Camp Site with good facilities. Well laid out separating tourers from Tents. Loo blocks plus portable loos so they are nearer. All clean and maintained. Good facilities for recreation and is family orientated. Club House (membership fee payable) for indoor swimming pool (heated) Crown Green bowls, TV room, bars, and main club where cabaret, disco and children's entertainment on tap. Would like to see curfew after 10pm for little ones so older bros and sisters can have their time on the dance floor. Grill house and bar in old stables very popular, (get there early) Behind stables is the outdoor pool, recreation room and Newsagent cum camp village store (get your papers here). Nice views over the sea and GCHQ sat dishes! Holding area for late arrivals a good idea. Recommend good for families as central to both Devon and Cornish sights and entertainment. You cannot beat the beaches and if you are into Surf as my family are - then you can't go wrong. Bude beaches all very close by. My first time at this site and we will be back.

Visited this site for two weeks in the school holidays. Plenty hard standing pitches which are staggered on different levels. Awning space is gravel which helped as we had quite a lot of rain. Toilets in the new block were fine but the old block left a lot to be desired - which meant that there were always queues in the new block. The main problem here is that all the facilities, playground, pool etc are nowhere near the caravan and camping area. It is quite a distance and not safe for children to go to play area alone. I think it would be an idea for a play area to built in the centre as this would be far safer. The pool itself was clean but there is no lifeguard on duty so again children need extra supervision because it can get rather rowdy. The pub on site is good and the food is passable.

Just got back from a week at this site. Sadly we were a little disappointed with the site from what the website and owners promised and felt it was priced slightly too highly for the facilities available.
The site was very quite and set in lovely countryside. Most pitches had electric and were very level (if quite stony) and the owners were really friendly. The pitches were marked out individually and had plenty of space for our 6 man tent, car and large trailer. On the downside, the outdoor pool was quite a trek (about 1/4 mile up and down steep slopes) from some parts of the site and would benefit from some sun loungers and a bit of warmth!
We visited the site during peak season when there was a large number of people there but this meant the site was very noisy around our tent into the early hours every night and that facilities easily got dirty and unpleasant. We appreciate that the owners can't really do anything about this though. In terms of road/club noise, it was very quiet. The site could use a few more toilets for men as our block only had two but there were ample womens' toilets.
Residents of the campsite can pay £2. 50 to use the indoor pool, entertainment and restaurant of the adjoining site but all other activities are extra. Just to the right of reception, on the way to the pool, there is a tourist pack with loads of leaflets about what's in the local area. The Bude visitor centre didn't have that much in the way of info. To take away but does do a free eating out guide if you ask for it.
The site has a decently stocked small shop, where you can get the basics and there's a nice farm shop about a mile down the road. The beach, which can be seen from the site, is a National Trust site. It takes about five/ten minutes by car but there is a charge of £3. 50 to park for any length of stay. Bude and the beach there is about 5-6 miles away. There's a lovely beach at Widemouth bay, which is a couple of miles on from Bude, which has a free car park, on the top of the cliffs, overlooking the bay.
In terms of eating out, we went to A Taste of India in Bude town and Stratton Gardens Hotel, both of which were great. The hotel needs to be booked in advance but does great fresh, local food with really personal service.

I managed to get a late booking for this site, and I'm glad I did. The site is under new ownership and by the sound of it they have made some significant improvements. There is a new toilet block which is a virtual mirror of the existing one, we never had cold showers and never had to queue even though the site was quite busy, though I have to say the water pressure was not brilliant and if you went at busy times it was a bit of a struggle
The camp site is very pleasant and all of the pitches are pretty level. There is a small shop on the camp site that is open all day 8. 30 to 6. 00 approx, where you can get most of the things you need for camping, as well as the shop in the complex, which is separate from the camp site and is about a five minute walk away. The village of Kilkhampton is only 2 mins by car and 10 mins walk through the complex to get anything else you can't get on the site shops. In the complex next to the shop is a small pub that opens only in the evenings at 6. 00pm, they serve very good food, which is cooked to order and can take a while to cook, but it is well worth waiting for. The outdoor pool is also situated here as is the games room.
We paid for the use of the manor only once, and in our opinion is not worth paying for, it cost £7 for the family 2+2, and we got free access to the indoor pool and the club, all the other club activities squash, tennis, gym etc were at an additional cost. The club was quite pleasant as clubs go and the cabaret was ok, not really our idea of a good night out, but if you enjoy bingo, smokey clubs and expensive beer @ £2. 80 pint then it's ok I suppose.
All in all we enjoyed our stay here, there are plenty of things to do all within an hours drive and all weather too. We would definitely stay here again, highly recommended

We took our tent without booking and there was plenty of room and 3 fields to choose from. We camped in the bottom field and there was plenty of room for the boys to play games without annoying any other campers. The people running the site where very welcoming and friendly and there was a small cabin which sold the basics. We never tried the other shop in the holiday park.
We did use the indoor pool for a small charge on a rainy day. The outdoor pool is a 10 minute trek. We never used the other facilities or the nightly entertainment on offer in the main leisure club either. There was a brand new shower and toilet block on the main caravan area which was much better than the old one, very clean and plenty of hot water. In the camping field there was a portable toilet block but no showers and there is also a dishwashing area. We quite enjoyed our stay here but it would be better if the facilities in the camping fields included a shower block to save the trek to the main caravan area.
Sandymouth beach is just 5 minutes drive away with a national trust car park and small cafe. The beach is huge when the tide is out but the sand is always wet and you have to walk over some large pebbles to get to the beach, excellent for space to play games and body boarding.

The main complaint was although the hot water is free in the showers, there was a distinct lack of it!
The site was pretty busy (although still a few spaces on the main park and separate tent field) and the showers were always in use. If you were unlucky enough to use the shower at the same time as 1 other person, you got a drop in water pressure. If you happened to be there when all of the showers were in use (3 mens, 3 womens) then you were left with a mere dribble down the pipe. In between times, you had to flatten yourself against the wall to catch a few drips. It was also the usual comment when the next person went into the shower. The toilet block was then closed for an hour for "cleaning" by 2 young lads - never left spotless, and what were you supposed to do during that hour.
Second issue was the outdoor pool and shop were located in the self catering chalet area, a good 5-10 minute walk up a slope. The shop was only open a couple of hours in the morning and again in the afternoon.
Not the most pleasant week of camping ever, and despite the complaints, not quite the worst (that goes to a site in Marlborough!)

I highly recommend this site. The toilet block is spotless and modern and the pitches are mainly level hardstandings. There is a well stocked shop on site and the village is but a short (5 min) walk away. By the way there are two pubs in the village and the one that we used (the prettier of the two) was fine. A lot of the pitches are occupied by "permanent" tourers so although the site looked busy when we were there in mid June we were actually sharing the facilities with three other couples.

I really liked this campsite. Although the holiday park is quite big, the campsite itself is small, and because it is separate from the chalets you feel as though you are staying at a small friendly site. The pitches are level, the caravan plots were hardstanding. The toilet block was absolutely lovely. The site was not busy at the time, so this might change in the summertime, but it was the cleanest toilet block I have ever seen on a camp site. Hot water was free. There were also lots of drinking water taps distributed around the site, which I thought was very helpful.
The site was within easy walking distance of the pub in Kilhampton, but although it had some real ales and served food, I was not at all taken with the quality (other than the puddings), and it did not have a friendly vibe.
As detailed on the website, there is a manor house on site, which you can use for a £2 per person per day fee. If you like cabaret this would be the place to spend your evenings! There are also 2 bars and arcade machines, which were not really our cup of tea, but would no doubt have come into play if it had rained. The £2 also includes use of the swimming pool, which is bigger than I was expecting, but still more of a leisure pool than a swimming pool. Having said that, the water was colder than a leisure pool, so you had to swim to keep warm.
Around the pool were other sports facilities, including indoor bowls and squash courts. I think these were used by the local population as well as the holiday-makers. The whole place was a bit grotty (especially the pool changing rooms, which had cold showers) and overpriced for what you got. It was obvious that no money had been invested for a very long time. The sauna and jacuzzi required coupons which were another £2 on top of the £2 already paid to use the swimming pool. No wonder they were permanently empty. Another point to note was that not all of the facilities listed on the website were available when we went. The shops, bars and restaurants were not all open, and the outdoor pool was not filled. Having said all that, I still loved the site, and thought it was good value at £8 a night for 2 people, a small tent and a car.
