I love this site and am probably a little bit biased towards it. It’s the third time I’ve stopped here with my husband who likes to try and visit the area at least annually.
The site is a small enclosed field mostly grassed but with a gravel turning circle and gravel strips for pitching on, there is a small facilities block housing two ladies toilets, a men’s toilet and a pay per use unisex shower; I was quite surprised to see that the cost of a shower had increased from 50p to £1 but this is probably offset by cost of electric hook up, you are only charged for what you use and not a set fee per night.
This is the wettest it has been whilst we’ve stayed and the ground was a bit muddy on the site, unfortunately this meant that the shower room got quite muddy and rather disappointingly it didn’t seem to get cleaned in the time we were there. The only other negative is that there is no pot washing facility, however as the site doesn’t allow tents that’s probably why.
Views off of the site onto the dales are beautiful and the village is a hub for walking, there is just so much walking from the village alone and then there is easy access to the Dales Bus service from the village which can drop you off for walks in other areas.
There are three pubs in the village, two of which are dog friendly, but we were disappointed to find that the Bluebell has changed hands since our last visit and no longer offered a tasty home cooked menu with the famous “Bluebell Pie”. We ate at the greyhound instead which is opposite the campsite and appeared to be the busiest pub over the four nights we visited.
We’ll be back next year.

A nice little site, and whilst its difficult to find fault, the weather wasn't particularly kind to me on my visit so maybe I didn't see it at its best.
Facilities are fine, largely kept clean and whilst there are limited toilets & showers, it is a small site so never too busy. A shame there is no dishwashing facility, but we were able to cope.
Walking wise, the one day the weather was good we enjoyed a very nice long walk up the valley, sadly the weather was not so good on other walks and so difficult to really sum up the area.
Kettlewell is nice, good shop and the pub we ate in was fine.

This is a very pretty and well kept small site in a stunning
Landscape. It is ideally located very close to the village and amenities. The owners were welcoming and friendly. At 15 pounds a night it was good value, and in our case the total cost for our electricity was remarkable low at less than 3 pounds for a 4 night stay.
There are a couple of improvements that in our opinion would have made our stay even more enjoyable. The absence of dish washing facilities was very inconvenient. Indeed, this is the first site we have visited in 25 years which didn't have these facilities. Also there was only one shower which basically didn't work. Something really does need to be done to remedy this last issue as soon as possible.
It's a shame about these less favourable issues which let down what is otherwise a charming site.

Totally idyllic 360 views quiet but everything you might need on your doorstep. Lovely walks from the site as easy or hard as you need. Had the most delicious meal in the Kings Head only drank in the other two pubs in the village but all seemed ok.
Owners the most friendly people you could wish to meet. We were lucky with the weather which helped, even having noisy nightmare neighbours who decided it was ok to take up almost 2 pitches including half of ours with their huge caravan huge awning followed by huge pen made up of numerous windbreaks didn't dampen our enthusiasm for this site. Guess not everybody is blessed with good manners 😉
Will most certainly be back hopefully with more considerate neighbours!

What a fantastic site, well maintained, friendly and welcoming. Will definitely warrant 10/10 when the new amenities block is opened later this month.
Dog friendly with some excellent walks from every direction.
Three pubs within staggering distance - The Blue Bell- very friendly and welcoming with lovely beer, food and staff and lots of treats for Mylo. The Racecources - friendly and dog welcoming. And The Kings Head - not dog friendly but seemingly a good reputation for food, I had a quick pint in the sun once a kind gentleman held the dog so I could go inside.
A wonderful site with lovely owners, it is a race to see who gets back first, me or the hubby but Mylo will be first to the bar in The Blue Bell !

We have just returned from a couple of days here. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The site is well maintained. The toilets and shower are super clean (there is a new shower/toilet block under construction). There is electric hook up too. It is a beautiful site surrounded by the wonderful Yorkshire Dales scenery. Very quiet and peaceful even though it is next to a road. The village of Kettlewell is very picturesque. There had been a Scarecrow festival the weekend before we visited, but we still saw lots of evidence of it. There are 3 pubs in the village, we had a meal in the Bluebell, the staff are so friendly, giving our dog treats too. The food was excellent quality and not overly expensive. We loved the fact we could have our dog with us while eating (inside) a rare treat these days. I have taken away some lovely memories and photos, we will certainly return.

Arrived on a very rainy Monday to find two pitches available to chose from, nice welcome from the owner so we parked the van and headed off for a hot drink and some lunch. Returned about 5pm by which time the rain had stopped so could put the awning up. There are tracks in each pitch to park on so you don't sink into the pitch, nice amount of room, not too close to your neighbour. Little toilet block under construction, the current one is dated but serviceable, as there is only one loo each for men and women and one shower you are at the mercy of the person who used it before you,
Great location in the village, 50 yards or so to two pubs, we frequented the blue bell as the food, drink and landlords hospitality was great, nice little cafe in the village too. We used the local shop as they make sandwiches to order which were ideal for packed lunches on days out. We rode bikes to grassington which is lovely, visited ilkley, Wensleydale cheese factory, Hawes, aysgarth falls, all of which were great days out, thankfully we had lovely sunshine after our arrival day. Beautiful part of the world and a lovely welcoming site, would definitely return.

A gem of a campsite! Situated on the edge of Kettlewell village in the beautiful Wharfedale Valley, you couldn't ask for a better location to enjoy walks in the surrounding stunning countryside. And, as an added bonus, it's only a few minutes walk to three very nice pubs in the heart of the village. On arrival the owner was very friendly and showed us where to park. The site has several hard standing pitches with electric hook-up points. There are two drinking water points, one near the owner's house and another next to the new toilet/shower block which is under construction. At £14/night plus metered electric at 20p per unit you can't go wrong!

As other reviewers have commented, the site is ideally suited for walks within Wharfedale and adjacent dales and, as a bonus, two of the village pubs are only 50 yards away! [The Blue Bell Inn being our favourite watering hole after a strenuous days walk with eight local real ales on offer!]. The site has ten hardstanding pitches with metered electric hook up although there appears to be space for a couple of grass pitches without electric. Currently there is a single shower room [8 mins for 50p] with a ladies & gents toilet by the side of the owner’s bungalow, but a new facilities block is under construction [as at June 2015]. The CDP and fresh water supply is located by this new block. However, there is a water point adjacent to the owners garage and that would be a better option for a motorhome.
Whilst the valley road runs close by the site, no real traffic noise was evident.
We managed some great walks including a circular one from Kettlewell to Arncliffe [in Littondale - The Falcon Inn having beer served from a jug!] which was more demanding than originally anticipated! Great Whernside looms over the village and, whilst the initial ascent is a bit “lung busting” at times, the views from the trig point were spectacular with The Yorkshire Three Peaks & Pendle Hill easily identifiable. Grassington is a relaxing bike ride away if you use the back road that runs adjacent to the B6160 main valley road.
The site owners were friendly and approachable with good advice on things to do. The nightly fee in 2015 was £14 plus electric usage was metered at 20p per unit, so remember to take a reading as you set up.
A site to return to as it gives you so many reasonable walking & cycling options in Wharfedale.
