We stayed here on August bank holiday weekend. We fell in love with the site on sight! It is separated from the river by quite a busy road but that didn't bother us, we could still hear the sound of the river. The owner couldn't be more friendly and welcomes dogs. There are so many great walks in the area and we surprised ourselves by walking up to Hag Dyke, a bit challenging sometimes! The other walk we did was to Starbotton by the riverside. We got to that village at about 3. 40pm on the Sunday very thirsty as it was a hot day. The village pub had just shut until 5. 30 which we thought was a bit ridiculous as there were loads of walkers around! Of the 3 pubs in Kettlewell we chose the Bluebell and had a lovely roast dinner and yummy trifle. Both this pub and the Racehorses welcome dogs but the Kings Head does not so we won't be going there! We didn't use the facilities as we used our own but they looked and smelled really clean! We will deffo be going back there as much as we can.

This is the first time we had stayed at this site & it will not be the last. It was fabulous we turned up & the lovely owner showed us to our pitch which was great. Credit to the owners really friendly. We brought our dog which the site was dog friendly. The views where fantastic & location was brilliant. It was a 1 minute walk to the pub the bluebell inn which was great. We did not eat there but we saw food coming out which looked lovely. The walks where great we walked to buckden a little village which had a gala on. We had a drink at the buck inn & a lovely steak, mushroom & onion ciabatta toasted sandwich which was lovely. We will be returning in September again because we loved it.

First time we've stayed here after visiting Kettlewell many times over the years as we only live 1 hour away. What a cracking little site this is. The owners are very pleasant and will do anything to make your stay comfortable. One shower for gents and one for ladies. Clean and tidy and 50p for an 8 minute shower. Never had to wait, always empty. Electric 20p per unit worked out at £3. 40 for 3 days. Beat that!Brilliant walks
To Arncliffe and Starbottom. Great old fashioned village store giving fab value for money. (reminds me of Open All Hours)Blue Bell Pub 50yards away very pleasant and superb choice of beers. Didn't eat here but plenty did and the food looked lovely. Racehourse Hotel 60yards away from site,
Ok but needs a face lift(And someone needs to show them how to pull a good pint)Kings Head, maybe 200 yards from site, doesn't let dogs in so didn't use it (There loss, not mine)Be interesting to see how long this lasts after the 'newness has gone?'All in all you can't beat this super little site. If anyone can tell me where I would get better views of The Dales please let me know!

Stayed at The Causeway after deciding to walk from Kettlewell to Buckden Pike which was a great walk. On arriving we were met by the owner and showed to our pitch, all facing to a central grassed area. Great location, 1 minute walk to the pubs and village.
We chilled out with our boxer dog Millie and then headed down to the Blue Bell pub, great food and hospitality from the owners from Leeds.
A few of the local beers were sampled (far too many). Met some great people and drank til midnight.
Overall a great campsite, great pub and Kettlewell is fantastic, especially when the day trippers left!
Try this place, we did and we will be heading back in 2014.

What can I say! Stunning views up Wharfedale, friendly owners, level pitches set around an open grass area facilities on hand and the pub 100 yards away in the village. Toilets and shower are at the side of the bungalow, but with only 12 pitches on site there was never a queue, and the 50p operated showers gives 8 minutes of lovely hot water, and all spotlessly clean.
Electric hook-ups are metered, but fear not, it is far cheaper to pay for what you use than many sites charge for theirs in a daily rate.
Would I come back here, you betcha! This has to be one of the best secret gems of the Dales, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Although basic this site is a gem, wonderful views all around, Owners really friendly and helpful, facilities are limited but essentials are more than cared for, Another feature of this site is that you pay for your electricity by meter reading therefore you only pay for what you use thus is not reflected in the pitch price keeping your cost per night down Showers are available. In Kettlewell itself there are several good eating places and you've a choice of pubs all within easy walking distance. The Blue Bell seemed to be the most popular at the time of our stay which was for 4 nights, a number of peaceful walks are available locally or this is just the place to sit and do nothing, just taking in the beautiful scenery I would certainly use this site again. The surrounding area has so much to offer

Arrived straight from work and it started to snow. The site owner could not have been more helpful. Level pitches with gravel defined areas. Stunning views and scenery. Two pubs within a two minute walk from the site both with roaring fires and a good array of real ale and home cooked food. Excellent location for walking the surrounding Dales. Shame they close for the winter months as we would definitely be back to this site

We have just returned from a long weekend at this site. We have stayed at sites in the Dales for over 30 years but first time at the Causeway. Friendly and helpful owners, superb setting, awesome Dales setting but close to local amenities such as local pubs especially the Bluebell with superb local real ales brewed in Skipton. The site is for ten vans arranged around a central (clear)grass area which is popular with local ducks! Pitch fees are very fair and the system of paying for the electricity that you use is brilliant. The shower and toilet facilities are an added bonus for such a small site.
There are many beautiful walks from Kettlewell along waymarked footpaths and some of the local area is not only National Park but also National Trust area of outstanding natural beauty.
There are four or five pitches with gravel to prevent muddy wheels in wet weather. We feel that an investment in ten gravel run pitches would be well worth it. TV signal is limited and we noticed fellow caravanners with Sat dishes. All in all it's 10 out of ten for us - a brilliant little site which we hope to visit often.

We visit this site at least once a month. It gets better every year with investment being put back into it at the end of the season.
In fact when the couple retire I want first refusal to buy it !
After all I have residents rate in the Racehorses.
Stunning views from either side of the dale. Local shop sells everything you would need day to day or for a BIG shop Skipton is half hour away.
New for 2013 all pitches will have dedicated hard standings.

Great little site this! Pitches are arranged on grass around a circular gravel driveway.
Couldn't be more central and is so close to the Racehorses Hotel (didn't visit) and the Blue Bell Inn (very nice - good pub grub).
The owners were very helpful and friendly.
Great value for money and highly recommended.
Kettlewell is a small but very picturesque village with 3 pubs, small village shop, cafe, art shop and walking gear shop. Very much a centre for cyclists/walkers as not much else to do.
