A fantastic location with every pitch overlooking the Loch and it would be hard to get closer to the water. Very friendly and welcoming and we stayed 2 nights rather than just one as we had intended. On the negative side the road was very close and noisy in the daytime and a real pity the showers were a bit grubby and not really up to scratch but this could easily be rectified.

The owner is a pleasant kind knowledgeable person who will help you with any campsite queries. Small campsite, care should be taken when entering or leaving the site due to the angle of the driveway. Facilities, EHU 16amp, 2 WC & Shower, Waste disposal, Fresh water, Washing machine/drier, washing up area, Recycling and Midges in the early evening to irratate you. Motorhomes/caravans no bigger than 7. 3m and a few tents.
Not suitable for small children or those few children that are unable to swim due to the adjacent unfenced sea water ( Deep in places ). You can swim/paddle in the sea or just search through the rocks/seaweed for maybe shells or tiddlers. No sand. There are many many places to visit on the Isle of Skye including one at Ord. A lovely tale about an Acarsaid house. You will find a skeleton of a Each Uisge Earballach (Long-tailed Water Horse)and Less obscure is the two acre garden with its excellent collection of alpine and other plants, all blessed with a dramatic view across Loch Aishort to the Cuillin
Portree is the Capital and the Main supermarket for the isle is the Co Op. Weather was superb during our stay infact very very hot and sunny.

The views from the site are stunning but I have little else positive to say about the site.
Access to the site with a caravan is difficult, the pitches are very small, we had to choose between an awning or parking space ! Although the site is close to the shore it is very difficult to access the shoreline so nowhere to walk a dog.
The site is generally fairly tidy but there is a lot of apparent junk lying about.
There are 2 WC & a shower with hot water but the shower was in need of a thorough clean.
The chemical disposal has no water supply & no means of flushing the waste. A disappointing stay, I would not recommend for caravanners & would not visit again

This is a small site, situated to the side of the Boat yard. Lovely views across the loch, but unfortunately not much else to recommend it. The shore was difficult to access and was too slippery and rocky to walk along. The road was very busy so road walking or cycling was also not an option. The noise from the road was intrusive at night. The facilities were limited to 2 toilets and a shower. The shower was in a windowless room in the outbuilding, the cubicle was mouldy and had not been left in a clean state. We chose not to use it. Because of the limited space per pitch we felt quite cramped. It was a disappointing site.

A great little CS site and well worth staying at.
The pitches are located right on the side of the loch (hence the name!) and the views are stunning. There are only two toilets and one shower but that is no problem as there are only 5 hard-standing pitches and space for a few tents. The site was full while we were there and I had to queue for the toilet for about 2 minutes, so hardly a problem! There's a single washing-up facility but it has no tap (water can be got from the toilets) again no problem as most people used their own facilities anyway.
There's a single water tap (with a long hose if needed - very handy) and a CDP and that's all you need!
Bottom line is that this is a great little site, basic facilities but it more than makes up for that with the location. Oh, and it's great value, £16 for two of us with electric.
Recommended.

Good site very well situated on the lochside with great views.
All the normal services available, what was very useful was a very long water lead that meant I did not have to move the van.
The owner provided a dozen eggs from her on site chickens which was much appreciated.
We had meant to stay another night but discovered that our proposed ferry was booked up so we had to cancel the extra night, the owner was very good indeed about it and returned us our extra nights money.
I had not expected this and was very pleasantly surprised.
Can thoroughly recommend this site, you won't regret it.

An excellent cl campsite, extremely helpful and friendly owners who couldn't do enough for us. This was our first visit to Skye and the owner lent us books and guides and gave us lots of information and recommendations on places to visit. For a cl this site has good basic facilities, a toilet/shower/wash room and a second toilet. All kept spotlessly clean. We also had the opportunity to wash and dry clothes and a clothes line was available for towels etc.
We were lucky that we had two weeks, blue sky and sunshine over the Easter period so didn't have problems with wet or stormy conditions. We had a superb pitch, spacious and fantastic views down the loch towards the Skye Bridge and across to Scalpay, fantastic sunrise every morning.
The only negative was that the chickens were fenced in (due to previous visitor complaint) but even so their eggs were such a lovely addition to breakfast.
An advantage for us was being able to watch the owner launch a variety of boats during our stay, amazing. We were able to take evening walks along the shoreline, when the tide was out, and spot a variety of birds and explore the rocks pools, the herons came within feet of the caravan even. Can't wait for a return visit, thank you so much for a brilliant holiday.

As you would expect in Scotland, the scenery was what drew us to this site. Have looked on Google Earth before booking the site and what are expectations were.
The weather sadly was very stormy and windy during the first night and we did experience problems with a tent pole snapping and probably lack of sleep.
The owners were very helpful and even came to the rescue with some of our belongings that we had trouble storing as we would have used an awning instead of a small tent.
The views from the loch side are superb and we did see a few herons fishing. The site is very accessible from the main road (which although fairly busy runs at the main entrance to the site). The traffic you could hardly hear as you are sited on the loch edge.
A superb site and ideal touring base. Will be here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights while touring Scotland. The pitches, hard standing are right at the edge of the lake. You wake up to unbelievable views. The site is part of a working boatyard and the owners were extremely helpful and informative. It is a CL so the shower and loo were clean but chilly but plenty of hot water. The skies were clear at night and the stars were unbelievable. The Northern lights have been seen from here but we weren't lucky. The road is busy and the pavement runs out so it's tricky to walk anywhere but we enjoyed just relaxing and looking at the view! Highly recommend it.

Just visited the site this weekend. Can only say that it's the most spectacular camping location I've ever visited. The view over the loch is stunning and the sight of the sun rising over the loch against a crystal clear sky will live long in the memory.
The facilities are fine. Don't expect them to be of the same standard as some of your more 'corporate' type sites but then again, none have this setting!
I would class this as an 'adults only' site though, as the proximity to the loch may be hazardous for smaller children.
There is one toilet and one shower and one washing up facility. This might not seem like much, but when you take into account there are only 5 hard standing and two grass pitches, and most caravans/motor homes used their own facilities, this is ample. The £8 per night for one person + tent + electric is excellent value for money.
The owner is so friendly and showed me my pitch before giving me a mini tour of the site and facilities. I also purchased a half dozen eggs which came from the hens she keeps on site. Delicious, and such a deep coloured yolk!
The campsite is ideally located, only a few mins drive from the Skye bridge, or 30 mins from Armadale if coming by ferry, and was the perfect base for striking out to see the breathtaking scenery this amazing island has to offer.
I will definitely be back!
