This will eventually be a great site as the owners continue to develop and improve it, it has an excellent amenities block complete with kitchen/ laundry/ pan wash/ eating/ drying room.

However it has issues around personal safety - the access to the amenities block is unfinished and has uneven levels of concrete around the doorways and these pathways are currently accessed down slight grass slopes that when approached from the side are slippery.

Attempting to visit the showers in the dark my wife slipped down one of these slopes and fell down, bashing her knees and shin and badly shaking herself.

Perimeter lighting or fencing is needed to prevent a more serious fall occurring.

 Very friendly host, lovely facilities.

Peaceful. Will return when next passing.

Only downside was nowhere within walking distance for a drink/shop/food.

Fabulous site, so peaceful with lovely views of Loch Shin.

Everything was very relaxed, so could choose own pitch.

Karen was very welcoming when we arrived and both her and Alan work hard to keep everything immaculate.

The toilets, showers and kitchen area have recently been refurbished and were warm and spotlessly clean.

The kitchen had everything required for those in tents, kettle, toaster, microwave as well as washing machine and tumble dryer.

We would highly recommend this lovely site.

I’ve returned to Woodend Caravan And Camping Site for a couple of nights as a base for bagging a couple of Munros, Conival and Ben More Assynt.

I got a very warm welcome from Alan’s wife Karen at Campsite’s new reception. Weather was great, I loved the views, especially the sunrise and a great view on Ben Klibreck and Loch Shin.

Site was quite busy however as camping field is large enough, there was no issues with privacy or noise, so great for families too.

Karen - thank you for your offer to check on me in case I wouldn’t come back from my Munro bagging in reasonable time. I will surely be back.

I have visited Woodend Caravan And Camping Site in June 2023. It was a pleasure to stay on this site overnight.

I received a very warm welcome from the owner and I found a chat with him about area very interesting.

The location is perfect to pitch up the tent for few night and explore Route NC500 on daily basis - as many attractions are in quite short driving distance.

The facilities are fully refurbished to high standard and they include nice shower/bathroom facilities and an equipped kitchen.

The camping field is very well maintained,

I've set up my tent and had an extremely comfortable night, hot shower and nice views.

I highly recommend Woodend Caravan And Camping Site and I will come back there in the future to walk more Munros.

A lovely site with wonderful views and a warm welcome from Jim. Brand new toilet / shower block now open. 'Camp Kitchen' will be ready soon.

Only stayed one night as we are on a mission - I am supporting my son as he cycles from John O' Groats to Lands End - but would definitely recommend if you are looking to stay in the area and want a quiet site with great views.

Off the beaten track but fantastic location, the views all around are amazing, the loch on one side and mountains on the other,

Alan was most welcoming, there are EHU, fresh water, chemical disposal and toilets with other facilities yet to be up and running, but don't be put off,

If you like peace and quiet with great views this is the one for you

The site is quite remote and exposed and still in a stage of "development. " Despite providing an explanation it seems these improvements are slow and needed more urgently for the site to be viable long term.

At present not a strong recommendation unless your options are limited and it's just overnight.

Stayed as a stopover on our way north. Great communication when we phoned to book.

Family have great ideas for the future of the site, they are doing most of the work themselves & working full time too, so it may take a while. Good on them.

Great views all around, very quiet when we were there.

Don't be put off by the long road that seems to go to nowhere, it is worth the trip.

We will be back when we are next in the area.

Loads of local walks if you have a dog, or just sit & enjoy the view if you haven't.

The facilities are still not open at present but this is reflected in the cost, well I think it is, £15 with EHU

 Stop only one night.

It's a lovely site.

At moment site been updated so no toilet or shower block.

It's a field in the middle of no where.

Very peaceful. 360 views panoramic views are stunning.

Very friendly host very helpful.

We would recommend to anyone who likes scenery and quiet. Lovely walks for dog.
