We arrived knowing that the facilities weren’t open so were not shocked, water and electric was available.
The site is in an elevated position so has great views in every direction but I can imagine it gets quite exposed in inclement weather.
The pre visit communications and the welcome from Alan was absolutely fantastic and we were made to feel very welcome from the second we arrived.
Alan has big plans for the sites future and I’m sure he’ll build on the so'd foundation that he already has in place, we will definitely use the site again when we’re back in the area.
If you are able to be self contained then the site is an excellent choice, if not then you may want to wait until the facilities are back up and running.
Overall though, great site, lovely location and brilliant owners.

Stayed for one night, plenty of room, pick your own spot.
Spoke to a lovely lady when we couldn’t make our first night,
And would stay again if we are in the area.

Beautiful location with amazing views!
So peaceful and relaxing with lovely owners who have big plans to make improvements to the site.
We would like to have stayed longer but were already committed to another booking elsewhere.

Fantastic location. Huge field, well kept. Electric hook ups plentiful. Limited hard standings but not a problem.
Very accommodating. Water, refuse, chem waste and grey water waste although no service point.
Shower and toilets not available due to renovation but hey we didn't need them.
Super views little noise, dog friendly.
For £15 a night what more could you want.

Great welcome from Alan who ensured we had all the relevant information. Even made a point if visiting us the night prior to departure as he was to be off site when we were due to leave.
Have always enjoyed our visits here with the wide spacious views of Loch Shin and Ben Klibreck from our grassy
Electric hook up pitch. Facility block in process of refurbishment so at moment need to be self sufficient. Black and Grey water disposal and fresh water available.
Only negative which was absolutely nothing to do with the owners was that some dog owners exercised their dogs on site ! Children had been playing in the same area the previous day.
Maybe some signs and or a written general info sheet to include dog exercising could be provided on arrival of what is expected would be useful.
We will be back. Good luck with your development/refurbishment plans.

Nice quiet site perfect for a journey stopover to either North/west to the NC500 route if not wanting to do full circuit,
Really friendly/helpful owner with big plans for its future big grass area for children to play

Basic campsite with stunning 360 degree views.
Alan is the owner and could not have been more friendly or helpful. He has ambitious plans for future development so do stay and support!

What an absolute gem of a site. Mrs Ross the hostess is lovely and a joy to meet.
The site is on a working farm with 360degree views of the best Scottish scenery. The site has 50 pitches with EHU, toilets, showers, laundry etc and is a bargain at £14 per night.
We are going to Orkney in a few weeks and have booked in again to stay on our return.
The site is only 4miles north of Lairg where there is shops etc. We also visited Shin Falls which is approx 3miles away and were fortunate to see the salmon leaping.
All in all a fabulous stay.

A couple of years since my last visit, and so nice to have a relaxing, peaceful stay away from the hordes on the NC500.
Yes, the facilities are a bit basic, but spotlessly clean and perfectly adequate, and the cost is very reasonable indeed.
Thoroughly recommended.
