Very friendly welcome from the English owners and allowed to choose our pitch from those available. Pitches are of a reasonable size with trees for shade, but do have the feel of being close to your neighbours. The whole site is really clean and well maintained with mown grass etc. Water and drains at corner of pitch as is electricity at 10amps. Toilets and showers are spotless but limited in numbers but although the site was full there was never any waiting.
WiFi is free with good speed and coverage but is turned off overnight.
Swimming pool, table tennis, games room and small children's play area.
Site is beside the Dogdorne but fenced off from river. It's a short walk into St Foy le Grande and to the Super you supermarket. Canoe hire was available from the opposite bank (car ride away) but was book only on September and we did not see any Canoes on the river during our stay.
While we were on site there was a majority of British on site and the whole atmosphere was very friendly and everyone was very helpful as were the owners. Would recommend this site without hesitation.

We love this site. Very welcoming, owners very helpful and friendly. The site is beautifully kept, especially the grass, always neatly trimmed. A well landscaped site with interesting trees and shrubs. Lovely pool. Sanitary facilities always clean with plenty of hot water. Within walking distance of St. Foy which is so picturesque and interesting. St. Emilion, Montbazillac and Bergerac all a short distance away. Choice of supermarkets for shopping. In all, a very well run, well cared for site.

This is such a well placed camping site. Within walking distance to the shops and some good restaurants. Lots to do in the surrounding area. The site itself is well run, with attentive owners who do their best to help and advise. The site is neat, the grass clipped and the swimming pool very clean and well maintained. The toilet block had plenty of hot water and was spotless. Free wi fi, another bonus. Everyone here was so friendly - other campers so helpful. A very pleasurable experience.

Very English site in a lovely part of France. Pitches were small and very close to each other. Showers were clean but not very warm water! Nice clean swimming pool however did not use as it was too cold.
The town is easy to walk too, a very good market which is worth a visit to on a Saturday. Two large supermarkets Super you 5 - 10 min walk to and electric a 5 min car journey.
The owners were very helpful and very friendly.

My family and I (2 Adults and Children of 9, 3 and 2) spent a week on this campsite and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The site and facilities are spotless and well maintained.
The site is run by a very friendly and helpful British family, yet this doesn't mean that this is a 'Brit' site as we found an equal amount of British, French, Belgian and Netherlands families.
The pitch that we received was firm, flat and level grass with an easy access hook-up in the intersection of the pitch and a stop tap for our pitches too. It was well shaded and was approximately 5 metres away from a beautiful view across the Dordogne river. Another very appealing facility that isn't highlighted enough on the official site is that the whole campsite is covered by free wifi.
The site is located in a stunning area of France. It is approx 60 miles from Sarlat and the more touristy areas of the Dordogne but is only about 20 miles from St Emillion and the best wine growing regions of Bordeaux. We enjoyed canoeing down the river, visiting the historic sites, visiting the river 'beach' and just doing normal things like shopping, which gave us the opportunity to improve our pigeon French!
We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning.

Just returned from a stay at this site. As a virgin french camper I did not have approved electrical equip in which they helped and provided. Toilets and shower block spotless. Playground and pool at close proximity at every pitch and at exceptional clean standard. Pubs as in this area a bit naff. Excellent supermarket, surroundings ie. Super u, elecerks, lidls. The only negative review I can give is. I wish I booked longer,

We stayed for a week at the end of June just after torrential rains had washed out many places, so the site was unusually full. This made no difference to the quality of facilities, which were immaculate at all times. The site was quiet and peaceful, with birds visiting on a daily basis - even some hoopoes, to our delight.
Pitches are large enough for a long caravan plus full awning and car, and are a mixture of open & shaded. Some will need levelling blocks, some not, but all have lovely surroundings to view, either plants & trees or the Dordogne river which flows right by the site - thankfully the site is elevated!
Everywhere was very well kept: facilities are older but extremely clean, with separate ones for men & women. There is a games room for children plus boules pitch & great swimming pool (unheated) plus a washing machine & drier. Each pitch has power plus a shared tap and a dog-walking field is by the entrance.
The owners are English and extremely pleasant & helpful. The small shop at Reception sells ice cream & wine, & the wine is even the same price as at the local cave - we tried quite a few, all delicious! There is also free wifi (an unusual bonus as we didn't find it free anywhere else) with a good signal even at the far end of the site.
Ste Foy la Grande is only 5 mins walk & is a lovely old bastide town with a weekly market, restaurants & shops. Super you supermarket is 10 mins walk/3 mins drive and a new large Leclerc is 5 mins drive away on the edge of town.
All in all, a perfect place for a relaxing holiday - we will be back!

We stayed for 15 days. Originally we intended to just stay a week, but the combination of the quality of the campsite, the warmth of the owners, the proximity to the town (which has a fantastic market on Saturdays)and other venues nearby, was enough to convince us to stay an extra week. Next to the campsite is a small field (owned by the campsite) for dogs to run around on which was a great bonus for us. Everything worked as required and more. There was an incident when a fellow camper became seriously ill - the kindness and help given by the owners was commendable and this merits a special recognition. In short it was the best campsite we've been to in the two years we've been travelling around Europe.

We originally intended to stay at this site for a week, but loved it so much we stayed for 16 days. The campsite itself is lovingly looked after, the pool is excellent, the toilet facilities although old are clean and well kept. It is a short stroll into the beautiful town of Sainte Foy le Grande and supermarkets are in close proximity (5 minutes on a cycle). Considering the closeness of the town the site is quiet and peaceful. The town is near enough to all that the Dordogne has to offer without being too 'touristy'. What made this site special for us were the owners; they were so helpful, friendly and it was a delight to stay there. As we were hitching up to leave our jockey wheel got damaged and the owner repaired it for us without charge, what service! Cannot wait to visit again next year, it's a gem of a site!

Reviewers- mature couple with campervan and bikes.
We picked this site from the ACSI book to be sure of finding them open. The site was easy to find, on the edge of the town. It is on the side of the river, but I didn't find any direct access to the river.
We were welcomed by the friendly British owners, and allocated a pitch after discussing our requirements. The pitch was flat and grassy, and divided by small fences. Some pitches are larger, and more shaded. There are chalets on the site too.
The whole site looked clean and well cared for.
The sanitary block has separate facilities for men and women and though old fashioned were newly painted and spotlessly clean, they were cleaned regularly. The water was nice and hot. Washing up is in a separate room, and there is a laundry and a disabled facility too.
The swimming pool was closed but the TV/leisure room was open.
It is a short walk into town, where there are shops and a market on Saturday. The site is nicely placed for visiting Bergerac, and Bordeaux and the Dordogne area are not far away.
