We stayed at this site in our motorhome and with friends who were in their caravan. Liz and her husband were very friendly and helpful and we were appreciative of their assistance when our hose wouldn't reach the tap !
The site is well laid out with good views and extensive gardens. The toilet and shower were spotlessly clean and the whole site has been tastefully landscaped.
We were on pitch 6 which was at the end with great views over the gardens. Pitches not entirely level but chocks are provided.
We were not with children but the site was very secure and with extensive grounds ideal for children to play.
Lots of walks in the area and from the site. The nearest village, Bradenstoke can be reached by walking up the hill opposite the site.
This is where we found the nearest pub which is called The Cross Keys. It has very recently come under new management and we received a very warm welcome from the new landlord who tells us that he has great plans to further improve the pub. Menu is limited at the moment but the landlord tells us that he will be expanding the menu . We had a very good and very reasonably priced meal there.
We will definitely return to this site.

Stayed for 10 nights. Very impressed by this site, very clean and well kept. All hard standing and slightly sloping but plenty of wooden blocks and chocks supplied so not a problem. Spotless toilet block consisting of a w/c, electric shower and an information point that included a book and DVD exchange. There was some road noise but not too intrusive - it's an agricultural area so the odd John Deere and Massey Ferguson was expected.
Wiltshire is a very pretty county and the site is handy for exploring the villages and countryside. A visit to Laycock is recommended, as well as to Avesbury where the stone circle is one of the largest and oldest in the world.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay; all the more so as our host, Liz, was very informative and loved talking about the area.
This site is excellent value for money and I thoroughly recommend it.

This is a lovely, peaceful site that offers great value for money. The pitch was a good size and had a picnic bench and a table, which was great as it meant that we didn't have to get everything out for our one night stay! The tyre hanging off a tree in the adjoining field was a big hit with our kids. What really impressed us though was the bathroom facilities. They were a level of luxury that you don't usually expect at a CL, especially when you're only paying £12 for the night! We only stayed for one night on the way to Wales, but we'd love to go back sometime and stay for longer. We didn't meet the owners as they were away, but on the phone they were extremely helpful.

Used this site as a stop-over en route to the West Country and for that it was perfect as it is in easy reach of the M4. It is only a very small site with one toilet and shower but this was perfectly adequate. I can't comment on what there was to do in the area as I didn't stay long enough. Although I didn't see the campsite owner, she was more than helpful prior to my visit ensuring that I knew where I was going etc. She did also inform me that she wouldn't be there and what to do if there were any problems. The only other thing I should add is that at £12. 00 a night inc EHU I think you will struggle to find anything with similar facilities as cheap.

We stayed for one night to break a trip from West Wales to Essex on a Friday so we avoided the Friday night jams on the M25.
We were made very welcome even though we were staying just one evening.
The site is beautifully kept as is the toilet and shower facility.
TV reception was poor but each pitch has a main TV ariel outlet and we were lent a co ox extension lead.
The site is under new management and the new team deserve to be a success.
We will stay again when passing on the M4.
Highly recommended

Beautifully kept site. Warm welcome on arrival. Hard standing with ramps for leveling. Clean, modern Toilet/Shower facility. Picnic benches. Great field for exercising dogs. Dvd's, books and games available to borrow. Fresh eggs on sale too. Local Information Board on display. The best CL Site we've stayed on by far.

Under new management and still an excellent site. Situated in a great position for for touring with superb views, spacious surroundings, modern and clean shower/toilet. The new proprietress is very affable and makes you fell very welcome. Highly recommended and excellent value for money. Remember it is also a caravan as well as motorhome site.

Stayed at this lovely site for 7 nights. Met by friendly owner, given code for electric gates and shown to pitch. As mentioned before only 1 toilet and 1 shower, these we're spotless. All pitches have lovely views
Slightly uneven, but wooden blocks are provided. The grass is cut short, even the huge field where dogs can run free as long as kept under control so ideal if you've got dogs.
Picnic benches provided also TV cable to borrow, books, and CD's.
The Pub was closed when we stayed but is up for sale. The charge is now £10 plus metered electric. Very reasonable for our stay.
The bridge at Dauntsey Lock is closed until around 8th August this is for the new electric rail services so the site can only be accessed through Lyneham, so worth checking before you travel. Hardly no road noise because of this, but wouldn't think it was that busy normally.
There was some train noise, but this didn't bother us.
A short drive to Wootten Bassett provided a small Morrisons and a Sainsbury's and plenty of shops.
The present owners are in the process of selling but hopefully the new owners will continue to provide the same well kept facilities.
We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

What a great little site. We just needed a place to stop over one night to visit family. Would have loved to stay an extra night and explore the area and enjoy the views but sadly had to get home.
Very friendly host clean and well kept toilet and shower. Although as others have said more toilets would be useful. The books, magazines and games available to borrow are a great idea.
Will definitely use again.

The site itself is exceptionally well presented with great views overlooking a small lake. The owner is very friendly and helpful - he also has a sense of humour and is easy to get on with.
The all in fee of £12 per night is great value for money.
The toilet shower block is the best I've come across in 18 months of visiting CL sites in Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. The only down side is that there is only one unisex toilet and shower, it did not impact on us on this occasion but at the height of the season it could be an issue.
There is a field fenced off to let your dogs roam without out fear of losing them!
The local pub was closed down and up for sale whilst we were there but there was another pub within 15 minutes walk away in the next village which did good value for money food where the landlady and locals made us feel very welcome.
It's worth noting that if you have a large caravan it would be wise to arrive and leave in a southerly direction as it is a bit tight if you arrive from Lyneham.
The only criticism is the road noise which the owner has recognised and has planted scrubs which should reduce the problem.
All in all a very good site which we will, and have, recommended to others, we'll be back.
