Appears to be an old mod site. Space a plenty. Lovely walks for the dogs. Beach is five minutes away. Not best beach but adequate for dogs to exercise. Sunsets stunning wild life abounds.
The site has the air of a derelict mod site as does the beach.
A very long single track to site so can be difficult with other cars vans coming out.
Is a very busy working fishery but the fisherman are neither seen nor heard.
Toilets and shower clean hot and again meet size of site.
If you want peace and quiet this is the site. Host very friendly and always about with. Bit of cheery chat.
Stayed two nights and enjoyed it. But would say not for a full week unless you have plenty to do. Annan only five minutes away.
Handy for all main routes.
Will return for a quiet break sometime.

This is a nice peaceful site ideal as a stopover from the M6/A74(M), or of course for fishermen or for those that just want piece and quiet, run by a very friendly and hardworking owner. We were only here overnight and it was dark and raining so we didn’t see the site at its best nor did we have the time to explore the walks other reviewers have.
The campers only toilet/shower room is perfectly adequate and clean although keeping it dry was a challenge at the time of year we were there (late October).
Access to the site is via a fairly long and narrow concrete roadway and anyone towing a caravan meeting another outfit coming in the opposite direction might find passing difficult but this is a 5 unit site so this is unlikely.

Found this by chance following signs from the road. A lovely gem of a site. Very quiet site with lovely well kept grounds. The owner told us the path to the beach which is about a 5 minute walk, great view when to get their. Well kept toilets and shower. I couldn't work out how to get the shower warm but think that was more me! Very well kept road to the site but does seem to go on for quite a way.

We had 3 nights at this site before moving on. Loved the site, also great for walking the dogs, whether on the beach or around the extensive grounds.
The owners were really helpful with information about the surrounding area and when we had a problem with a leaking window supplied sealant and steps which allowed me to effect a permanent repair.
They would not accept any payment.
We returned for another night on our way south.
We will definitely be returning.

Just got back from a very relaxing weekend with hubby and our 2 dogs. On arrival I was concerned as the actual camping area is more suitable for vans and motorhomes with not much space for the 2 dogs but Carol put us on a separate grass area which was extremely spacious and ideal for us.
Carol was very helpful showing us the toilet and shower room which were clean and more than adequate for our stay, also helped us with some gas pipe as we forgot ours.
From this very interesting site you can walk to a nice quiet beach and if you head right you will arrive in Powfoot approx 2. 5 miles where there's a golf club and we enjoyed the great views with a few cold beers.
Take bug spray - we were bitten a fair bit.
Very relaxing chilled weekend on a basic clean adult only site.

We stayed on this lovely friendly site last week we had our 15 week old puppy with us. We enjoyed walking in the evening down to the beach, looking at the different wildlife.
This is a gem of a site, clean and adequate, for the number of people using the amenity`s. We could not find fault at all.

We found this campsite earlier on this year and its the best Site we have ever been on and @ £15 with Electric hook up a night value for your hard earned money We love fishing and in England it was closed season so we had to go over the border to Scotland the campsite we chose was Broom Fisheries. We have been back about 10 times. It is a fantastic campsite toilets are spotless as are the showers the owners cant do enough to help people all the time 24/7 even in emergencies.
The Fishing is first class and the main thing is it isn't too Expensive. We have been fishing all day today and it was Brilliant caught over 50 fish Barbel Hide roach tench perch chub bream carp The sun was shining and it wasn't windy.
The wild life and surroundings are stunning and well looked after. Its our little Heaven So relaxing I have just had open heart surgery and things didn't go good but I came to Broom to recover in the beautiful surrounding so calm quiet just wildlife noise Stunning you have to see it to believe it. I am well on the mend now. The owner checked Doctors and hospitals and told me everything I needed to know in case I had any health problems. Both the owners are very professional and friendly people we have ever Met. So Make sure you come and visit Broom Once seen Never forgotten. Well Done to all

What a fascinating little site - only 5 pitches but located in the most wonderful surroundings and just a five minute stroll to the Solaway Firth. The staff could not be more helpful if they tried and this on top of running the farm and other facilities. If you are a birder then there is plenty of variety from shore birds to woodlands - including an occasional visit from the Caerlaverock Osprey. To supplement the farm animals there are deer, foxes and badgers (you do need to seek them out though!). For the fisherman there are numerous and well stocked lakes (I lost count after six). The facilities are basic but this is a CL at the end of the day and the owners continue to improve them when time permits. Well worth a visit and we shall certainly return when in this part of the world.

Nice, quiet, small rural site. Unusual location on site of former WW2 munitions factory ?! Owner was very accommodating in allowing us stay late into Sunday afternoon as we were attending Christening in nearby Annan. Only one shower/toilet and although nice and modern and clean, site was busy and could do with another to avoid queuing. Nice walks around fishery, site is ideal for dog owners. Definitely need car, however as not really walking distance to anywhere.

We chose this site to meet up as it was a central location for us all. The owner was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The facilities consisted of a well appointed shower room with sink and loo for the campers and a separate toilet for the day fishers. The site was full which led to some pressure on the shower room, but work is in progress for another block, including pot washing facilities. There is a shop on site selling mainly fishing equipment.
Lovely walks around the lakes and to the beach, interesting history of the area at the Devils Porridge exhibition at Eastriggs.
