We were a family party visiting the site. We had been before in the spring in the rain and the owners had been very helpful and so we returned a second time. My dad was originally put off by the reviews but was pleasantly surprised on arrival. There was a caravan rally at the same time we were on the site and it didn't feel crowded. The toilets were fine and for us there was always toilet paper, although my dad did mention that the showers in the men's were not being wiped down after use (surely as campers we have to take some responsibility). There is a pathway through the rear of the campsite that leads to local village with a pub, the reservoir and nature walk, but it is not immediately obvious so others may have missed it. Moans: No cover on washing up area - have spoken to owner and this is being built this year. Slight smell on second visit - owner advised blocked sewer as they underestimated usage and new one being built over winter in readiness for the next busy season. The smell certainly was not there in the Spring.
This is a new developing campsite and the owners are continuing to listen and improve facilities. It is a nice campsite, relaxed with basic amenities - proper camping !

This was the most relaxed we have been all year. A great end to our summer, and we were mainly lucky with the weather.
The atmosphere was informal and we felt very at home, the showers and loos were all properly serviced. I don't mind paying for the shower when you know it is going to work, which it did every time.
Good place for a holiday base - to go into Oxford, or visit Woodstock and Blenheim Palace (incredible, though expensive to get in).
This is a special place, very near the city, yet quiet campsite. Our children loved the owners pets to look at - there even seemed to be tame rabbits in the garden.
We will be back next year with more family, a great place to all meet up.
This is a new site, and the owners are ironing out a draining issue, which didn't bother us, and they were good and welcoming hosts.

Great campsite, this is the second time I have stayed here this year. The toilets and showers are really good. We went this time for a friends 40th birthday with kids too and really enjoyed our stay. What I really like about this campsite is that you are left alone to enjoy yourself and you are aloud campfires (off the ground). We will be definitely going back when the weather warms up. Can't wait

We stayed on the site for 4 nights. It has easy access to buses to Oxford, but unfortunately there is nothing walkable from the site. The site information claims eating and drinking places a mile away. This is not the case. The facilities were not up to the standards you expect on a Camping and Caravanning site. There were 2 ladies toilets, one without a toilet seat and toilet roll some days. The shower floor was very dirty and no available mop and bucket to clean it. The washing facilities are outside with no shelter or light and as it rained whilst we were there, washing up was very difficult. The site appeared run down with a dreadful stagnant water smell near to entrance.
We will not be returning.

We spent two nights here and there were definite good bits and not so good bits.
The owner was welcoming, toilets/showers were clean and there was plenty of hot water (£1 for a shower seemed a bit steep though!).
It was the first weekend of the summer holidays when we stayed and there was quite a few people so I'm not sure why everyone was crammed into one field when there was another that remained empty, it would have been much more enjoyable if we had been able to have our own space a little more (not least because then the children camped next to us might not have played football right next to our tent when our youngest was sleeping)!
There was also a whiff sewerage that drifted across the site every so often (and seemed to get stronger round the bins/path to the toilets) we couldn't work out if the septic tank needed emptying or it was the elsan point but either way it was quite unpleasant.
Overall, not awful but not sure if we would come bac again.

I have to say mixed feelings on this site. Location is great, close to Oxford, and some nice walks and days out in the area. Facilities are basic, although clearly are normally kept clean.
My gripes then - firstly, not the fault of the site owners, but there were a handful of really badly behaved kids on site. Running all over the place screaming and shouting at people and making a complete mess of the toilets, to the point that we couldn't use them (toilet rolls thrown in the toilets or rolled out all over the floor etc).
Secondly - the site claims to be dog friendly, which I would agree with, except for the fact that the owners dog clearly doesn't like other dogs! I understand that not all do, but one to be aware of as it is allowed to roam free around the entrance to the site.
Minor other points - the bins were overflowing and not emptied whilst we were there, the toilet roll, whilst cleaned up, was not replaced, and the washing up area was not very clean (thanks to inconsiderate campers again).
I get the impression we were just unlucky here, so will probably return (as the site is lovely) - our experience was ruined by our neighbours sadly.
We loved the donkeys!

This is the second time we have staged here. Nice site, good facilities. Helpful owner and very pleasant. The first time we stayed we were concerned that it was a family site (grumpy old man), but it was great to see all the children mixing together. And they were all so tired that we woke up in the morning before they did. Some traffic noise but nothing really noticeable. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Valley Farm for 2 nights November 18th and 19th 2013. We had a lovely friendly welcome. There are 3 hard standing pitches and we had one. This is a C&CC listed site which accepts 5 units. The camp field has delightful views and we had a beautiful sunset on our 2nd evening. The other interesting aspect for us were the RAF planes which flew over from time to time (infrequently) not particularly noisily either.
The facilities were beautifully kept and warm though one does have to pay £1 for the shower which has warm water aplenty. (which effectively added £2 per day (for the two of us) to the pitch price of £14. There are washing up facilities outside so we did not use them as the weather was very cold and damp. The only disadvantage for us was that there was no wifi on the pitch though you could get the internet standing outside the farmhouse. For children they have a large field to run round and there were donkeys next to the farmhouse.

A very welcoming, friendly site in a spacious field with great views all round.
There are brand new showers and toilets in tasteful block attached to house, and kept meticulously clean.
There is access to beautiful walks directly from the site. The 20 minute cycle ride into the centre of Oxford makes this site a perfect location for city attractions or peaceful countryside.
Would definitely come back here again.

Brilliant location for visiting Oxford, this made this campsite very popular with European campers (always good to see the Dutch tents!) this is basically a field with one tap, toilets and showers. The toilet block was very good, always clean, plenty of soap and loo roll. The shower was clean and hot and was £1 for ten minutes which was probably overlong.
If you want a fire, take a BBQ to burn on or some sort of fire pit device, there are no fire pits on the ground. You'd also need to organise your own wood.
We enjoyed seeing the donkeys, super cute pigs and rabbit. Nice big field for ball games and generally running amok.
The one major shame was there was no washing up facilities. We have our own kettle/washing up bowl so are fine but so many people seemed to have to wash up in tiny toilet sinks. There was a big stainless steel sink by the toilet block but it was unplumbed and full of rubble. I hope the very friendly Owner gets this sorted soon.
There is a fairly busy road on the edge of the site.
I recommend the reservoir for a good walk and the Talbot for a very good ploughmans!
