Stayed at this site for 3 nights. On arrival was shown to the pitch by the warden, and was nice and level as the site is on the side of a hill. The field we were in was nicely terraced.
All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. First night it rained most of the night, but in the morning the ground was not too bad and had dried out completely by the evening.
The toilet block was nice and clean with plenty of hot water. The dog walking field across the road from the site if you go in just before dusk you stand a good chance of seeing a barn owl, and to the bottom of this field deer and foxes if you keep the noise down.
Due to the site been at the side of the A35 the traffic noise was hardly noticeable. There was a bar on site but was only open Fri and Sat night but understand this changes in the peek season.
There is good views across the country side from most of the site. Would recommend this site and will happily return at another time.

We stayed for the witsun weekend on the rally field our pitch was towards the top of the terrace which gave great views across the valley on the bright sunny days.
The toilet block appeared very new and clean, showers were push button but lovely and hot.
Having the caravan towed onto the pitch was a real bonus.
We did not hear the music from the bar area there was some live entertainment on. So you can have a peaceful site with live entertainment!
The road noise was audible but was not a negative factor.
Site was easy to find and for us it was an easy 1hr tow.
We shall return, hopefully soon.

We booked this site at short notice and was very pleased we did, although only 20 miles from our home we were looking for a weekend away with facilities for our children to keep them entertained and on this site was a heated outdoor pool (which was a decent size) play area and a games/tv room.
The site is easy to find just off the A35 with good access, we unhitched and our van was towed on and off the pitch which was a nice service.
The toilet block in our field was very clean and modern, the showers were superb, nice temperature and powerful.
Views from our tiered pitch were very nice, looking over the hills and the pitch was a decent size.
There is a small shop on-site stocking a few basics but 3 miles down the road was Axminster with a Tesco, Co-op and other local shops, you are also near the coast with Lyme Regis being the nearest.
All in all a very nice site and would visit again !

We’ve camped in this area many times but decided to give this site a go as it was a late booking and our usual sites were fully booked, this turned out to be fortunate as this is a really super site. It’s located just off the A35 so would be good if you were towing a big unit.
This site has a mixture of static, seasonal and touring pitches. They only had a fully serviced pitch left, which we’ve not experienced before, it was a bit pricey, but was a premium pitch and probably worth the extra. It’s a sloping site but the area where we were put was terraced so everyone had a lovely view over the valley, the terracing also gives a feeling of being less packed in. There was also a more “standard” field but we didn’t explore this, so can’t pass comment. On arrival we were shown to our pitch and helped to locate our Folding Camper, we noticed during our stay that other arrivals took advantage of the sites’ mini tractor to locate their caravans.
The site facilities include a small shop for the basics, solar heated outside pool, games/TV room, large dog walking area, play field, and a bar which served food, we didn’t use the bar, but it had a conservatory which overlooked the pool, so it would be possible to sit and have a pint and keep an eye on the kids in the pool which stayed open late.
There was a small play area with swings, climbing frame etc adjacent to the bar, which would occupy younger ones for a while. The washroom facilities were excellent, with no queuing, I seemed to have the place to myself on most occasions!
There is plenty to do in this lovely part of the country, we’re attracted by the fossils at historic Lyme Regis and Charmouth which has sand at low tide, it’s mostly pebbles along this coast, be prepared for a bit of leg-work if you want to get away from the crowds, we can also recommend “Escot” for a day out. The only negative to this site is it’s proximity to the road, we were at the top and there is a bit of noise, but it quietens down during the night, and if like us you’re out all day, it’s not really a problem, if you think it maybe, ask for a pitch lower down the field.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Andrewshayes, it’s extremely well run and thought out. It will now be our first choice for this area

Excellent toilet block, lovely washing up area & great laundry facilities.
Campsite is lovely & clean. The staff are very friendly too - no problem too small. We were shown to our pitch.
There is a small pool (unheated!) on site & a small bar - only open in the evenings, with a takeaway. There is a small play area where we lost our two children most of the time we were on the site! A very small shop, but Tesco is approx 10 mins away.
The only down side we found was that the campsite required a vehicle to go anywhere. There were no paths on the main road to walk down to the village. The charges were reasonable too.

The site is located in the picturesque Devonshire countryside. We were situated on the Rally field and found this to be a fairly peaceful location. The nearest beach was at Seaton and this was a 15 minute drive away. We had some trouble pegging the tent as the pitch was quite stony in places, maybe we were just unlucky? The toilet block was found to be modern and clean, I never had to queue though my wife did once. Next to the toilet block were all the usual facilities, washing up and disposal points etc. We used the pool several times and it was at ambient temperature, so cold. The bar area was adequate, but no entertainment was provided. Our 11 year old daughter used the games room which looked worn and tired. We were disappointed with the shop and couldn't get basic provisions, like bread, on several occasions. All in all the site was good value for money and we would have no hesitation in returning.

We booked a pitch very close to setting off. Found site easily, facilities looked good. Reception were friendly and helpful. Were taken to a pitch in the seasonal tourers section (rather than the tent field as it was full).
The pitches were small. We could only put our tent up directly on the footprint of the previous tent which has left 2 hours previously.
They had put sand on the mud to soak it up, but when we started to pitch our tent, we sank to below our ankles in the mud. Due to the size of the pitch, we were unable to avoid the mud. It also smelt badly!
As there were no more sites available, we took a refund and left to camp elsewhere!

We Stayed at Andrew Shayes for 3 nights, the weather was variable and we had 1 very wet night but the pitch was well drained and stayed tidy,we were on a terraced pitch.
Both toilet/shower blocks were very tidy and kept clean, the washing up area was well sheltered and tidy and the laundry room was well equiped with 3 washing machines, 3 dryers and iron and ironing board.
The children used the playground constantly and loved it (my 2 are 10 & 11 years) We did not use the swimming pool due to the weather, but it looked well looked after, we had a drink in the bar, but did not sample the food.
All staff were very friendly and always on hand to help.
The shop was very basic but ok for emergencies!
It is well situated for visits to lyme Regis, we also popped to Exeter only 30 mins down the road.
All in all I would recommend this site and we will be visiting again!

We stayed three nights here in early August 2008, during the not-too-bad weather. The site is clean with good facilities, including a bar / restaurant / takeaway, a shop (not the best but the basics are available), a good children's playground (next to the terrace area outside the bar, which is perfect!) as well as dog-walking field and playing field. Oh, and there's an outdoor pool, which we only got to use one day but it was very nice.
The toilet and shower facilities are ample, modern and kept very clean - absolutely no complaints there.
There are quite a few static caravans, which are nicely set out in their own field. There are also a lot of seasonal tourers and we were squeezed in amongst these, which I wasn't particularly happy about. Seasonal tourers don't seem quite so friendly somehow, but maybe it's me! However, there is a dedicated touring field, which although furthest from the facilities is probably the quietest, and so ask to be pitched in there if you can.
All in all, it's a good site, great for young kids, not too expensive for what you get, and I would go back. However, I would insist on being pitched in the touring field.

We stayed here during the bank holday weekend at the end of May, we liked it so much that we booked for the Aug bank hol whilst we were there.
The park is quite tranquil, with a very small club, large outdoor pool, kids park and a huge dog walk and playing field. There were 2 sets of toilets both modern and very clean. The staff were extremely helpful, towing caravans on and off pitches if needed at no charge.
The park is quite isolated so if you want to go anywhere you have to drive, Tesco's is 5 mins in the car away. Weynmouth was a 40 min drive away. There were 4 caravans of us, usually we like the nosier sites but we loved the way the site is uncommercialised- meaning we spent very little money! The club has a take away food service until 9pm if needed. Overall a lovely site ideal for famillies.
