After a 5 year gap we revisited this site which we had previously stayed on for 7 consecutive years. The site has grown, it is spacious and clean, unfortunately the facilities have not grown with the site. The ablutions block was quite a walk from the end of the seaview field, (and no lighting at night) and there was no waste water disposal on this field.Quite a hike to drain the potatoes. People were using the hedge to throw their waste water. I did mention this at reception and they said they would try and add this for next year.
The showers were always warm, but never hot, and the washing up water was also a bit hit and miss. The site wasn't full, so no excuse for tepid water.
Every where was spotlessly clean, and the site owners were in constant view on the site, checking bins, cutting the grass round the tents, not just the empty pitches.
There was a security guard at night, we saw him a couple of times around 11pm, it was nice to know there was someone up if there were any noise issues (there weren't).
The road to the seaview field became very muddy when it rained, it looked very rural and in keeping with the atmosphere, but it was a nightmare when it rained and was very slippy.
The gangs of teenagers that grouped together were quite intimidating and often rude; they frequently blocked the paths and if you asked if you could pass (the grass was VERY muddy) the response was rarely a polite one!
All in all a pleasant site but it's growth has not been to our liking.

Exceptionally well run site and so child/family friendly. Pitches were great some with beautiful sea views. Facilities were good but more importantly were kept scrupulously clean. It seemed that the groundsmen operated 7 days a week to keep the site so well manicured. Pool was heated and a decent size, shop provided all the necessities and the site was quiet at night. Location is excellent close to Padstow for the restaurants etc but near enough to Wadebridge where the supermarkets are better for weekly shops. The best campsite we have ever stayed at and a credit to its owners.

The first few days here the weather was glorious and we had beautiful views from the luxury elec tent pitch field (though we chose not to have elec which are no.S 90 to 96). We had a huge field in front of us and so didn't feel we were squashed in. The pitch was large too as it housed our 9mX9m dome tent plus our car!
When the weather turned bad we did get a bit wind blown but no worse than anyone else and not as bad as some. The field also didn't get boggy.
The showers and toilets were always very clean as was the laundry room, washing up area and kids bathroom.
From the site map I thought we were quite a way from the toilet blocks but in fact only a minutes walk without the noise of being right next to them!
Our friends stayed near the Amenity building in a trailer tent with elec hook up which was more expensive but they were on top of their neighbours with just a wind break between them and about 6ft on either side. But there was space in front of them for a game of rounders or cricket.
I'd definitely recommend this site to everyone. There's a pool which was nice though chilly, and a kids play area and small basic shop. But Padstow or Wadebridge aren't far away plus lots of other attractions, but you need to drive to everything.
Will definitely go back.

We stayed in the overflow field on this site in Early August 2008. We stayed while the winds were around 20-30mph for most of the evenings/nights.
The field we chose to stay in was very wind swept, further into the main campsite the wind was much lower and tents were not being blown about quite so much. However, we did not get blown over, but did lose our toilet tent and gazebo!
The site was very well maintained, the owners were caring about the site and the occupants. A new gravel road way was put down into the field we were staying in when the rain meant that the entrance got so muddy you could not drive over it, let alone walk. I found this so kind, something I have never experienced before. The work was carried out quickly and well and lasted for the rest of our stay.
We lost some clothing, and staff found it blowing around the field and took the time to return it to us. On our last day I was offered storage for my trailer so that I could go into the town before returning home. Little touches that made a lot of difference.
On the down side, the overflow fields are a long walk from the toilet block, water etc. Had we not had a toilet tent we would not have coped with this in the night, with rain lashing down and the strong winds. The children also found it hard being so far away from the excellent playground.
We would definitely come to this site again, but would book months in advance so that we had a pitch on the main site rather than the overspill.
The local area is fab. Padstow has many lovely pubs and cafe's and great shopping for the children and Mum, bring or buy a crabbing line. The camel trail is a must do, but don't bring your own bikes book some to hire for around £9 each, much cheaper than the petrol costs for getting your own bike there. The local beaches are wonderful too everyone wears wetsuits which increase the water temperature greatly. Eden project is about 3/4 hours drive away and a great day out if the weather is a bit iffy. We went on a fine day and missed all the crowds!
The part of Cornwall is wonderful and we will be back.

When we visited this site, the weather was appalling and we were rained out most of the time, however the site coped with this brilliantly and we were not flooded at all. The price of camping here is very good value, however the showers did tend to get very busy early evening, we found it much better to go later on in the evening, but take a torch, its well dark! Facilities are nice and clean and well kept, however young lady in the shop needed to have a personality recheck! All in all and excellent place to stay for a cheap camping break, would recommend and if I could not get in at our regular campsite would not hesitate to call on Trewince again!

Taking the tent on a Bank Holiday weekend to Cornwall guarantees rain, and it did, monsoon like, for three days with gales added in! The site took the rain pretty well with only a few pitches slightly flooded near the entrance, no suprise as another campsite in nearby Polzeath flooded completely with tents floating away!. After the rain the site drained quickly and we used the facilities like the free open air swimming pool which is a good size with plenty of chairs to lounge around in on the poolside. The whole site is very clean, no noise after 11pm and no loutish behaviour even during the weekend. The shop stocks local produce at supermarket prices, you can order newspapers there too. The staff were very polite and helpful.
We pitched on the new luxury sea view pitches, massive pitches with a whole empty field in front with far reaching views across the Camel estuary past Padstow, the best pitches we have been on anywhere, and we were the only ones in this field for days!
The sunset views were spectacular from this pitch and it is a very short walk across the field to nearby St Issey and its pub.
The whole site is next to a diary farm and is very rural yet only three miles from Wadebridge and Padstow. Recommended in any weather!

Stayed for one night only as we were touring Cornwall but wanted to go to The Ring O'Bells (just a short stroll up the road - but take a torch!) for their May time folk singing. When I rang to enquire if they had a vacant pitch I was told 'yes but we won't be there so just find an empty one hook-up & come & pay me in the morning' how nice to find such a laid back attitude in this day & age. Thank You!

Had a good, sunny week at Trewince last week. We hadn't booked but were assured the overspill field would have space. We ended up on the Kite Field - I would definitely recommend this field - it's spacious, quiet & had a brill view. The site itself was fine, our children enjoyed the pool but felt a little bit 'over-awed' by the older teenagers in the games room, park etc (see previous review) & so mostly just stayed near the tent or messed around in the field. The toilet block near us was fine except for one dodgy shower & was always clean (the young cleaner was the friendliest person on site I think) Ace beaches nearby (I loved Harlyn Bay) & Padstow was worth going to, esp for clothes shopping (although I'm sure some people would frown on all the surfy shops). I would recommend catching the bus there or using the park & ride. We gave in to Stein's chippy - the fish is really worth it though. I would definitely go there again but am glad we have a tent as the pitches for caravans seem really small with hardly any space to play outside (partic. Those near the pool/playground), the outer fields with EHU seemed a bit better & had some playing space in a central, shared area.

An absolutely amazing campsite. You couldn't find a better place to cover the needs of the whole family. I'm a sixteen year old and I have been visiting the site for the last four years with my family. My family and I have made some great friends there and use this opportunity to meet every year the same time for two weeks in the summer. It's a fabulous place to be, everyone is so friendly even to us teenage children. We don't cause any trouble we sit in the park or in the games room until closing and then we head off back to either our own caravans or to someone else to have a game of cards. The pool is brilliant for fun and ball games but isn't really suitable for swimming. Although they have covered the needs of very young children or babies by including a children's pool, which is great for the use of the little ones. The toilet block is tidy and clean but very dull, I feel that there needs to be more colour and also I feel that the hair room needs to be made a little bigger as there isn't much space for more than two people at a time. The toilet block closer to the entrance is perfect and I use that one alot more than the one close to the park. The playground is great for little kids and the open grass space is great for us teenage kids who just want to sit around and natter. Although we do feel that there should be more to do for us teenagers. The site is well equipped and does cover the needs of more a less everyone, obviously everything has it's faults and has ways of improvement but that can be worked on. The surrounding area around is fantastic especially the beaches we especially enjoy Treyarnon Bay which is suitable for us to take our pet dog on to and it has the best rock pools around and they are big enough to swim in :) I hope you understand everything that has been said because it's the god honest truth. It's a brilliant site and I hope everybody that reads this gives it a try, it's worth the risk because i'm sure you will love it. See you all very soon 29th of July :) x

This was our third visit this year, and we have already got the calendar out ready to book up for next year. This site was excellent for our three children who made great use of the play area. This site is very friendly, clean and tidy and we were made to feel very welcome by the owners and staff. The shop sells the basics but that's all you need to tide you over until you reach the nexted Tescos in Wadebridge or Padstow. The pitches are a good size and if you dont want everyone walking through your pitch there is no problem in putting up a windbreak.
