Just spent a very relaxing break at this site and what a pleasure to receive such a warm welcome on arrival. The site is divided in to separate areas by using hedging which is very successful.
There is a separate area for dog owners and another area which is kept 'dog free' for those not wishing to have a 'friendly hound' visiting, it seems to work.
The facilities block is spotless and a seemingly endless supply of hot water for the showers etc. Do follow the site owners advice for approaching the site because if you end up in the village of Chacewater you will not get to the site without some very very clever manoeuvring! Be warned!
Some good places to visit whilst at Chacewater and plenty of good pubs serving food. We will certainly be returning for a further visits in the future.

Just had a 7 night stay at this touring park and it's a lovely site. The site itself is gently sloping with black pit waste type of hard standing which can be very messy.
The toilet and shower facilities are impeccable with separate toilets for male and female and the showers are for either sex, though very private. There is no lighting on the site at night, but this is really not a problem at all.
The owners are very - extremely informative and helpful, in fact we were given a huge amount of information on booking in which was great.
The only downside was that we had to sign a doggy contract to say that we would keep the dog on a 3 foot lead when walking around the site and no more than 8 feet when tied up around our pitch. We were told that our dog was only allowed to go to the loo on the dog walk!
There is a good book swap library and general essentials for sale in the reception. The site is centrally located to visit the whole of west Cornwall with ease. There are a few good points to remember when visiting this site :
1. Access roads are somewhat narrow with passing places
2. Do be prepared to pick your doggy up and carry it to the doggy walk
3. Levelling blocks are required on a lot of the pitches as the site gently slopes.
4. Enjoy the peace and quiet of only the birds and odd bit of distant train noise.

Chacewater offers reasonably good value for money and spotless toilet facilities, but that is where the good things ended for us. The owners are polite enough but for us they lacked the genuine warmth you get from people who are natural 'people persons'. They and several caravanners seem to be pretty cliquey!
There are two toilet and shower blocks that you could not fault except they closed them both at the same time every day for cleaning! Contrary to what we were told - 'one round the back' was not always open!
The site has no landscaping other than the natural boundaries and each camping field has stark ranch type fencing. There was little in the way of recycling. No lighting at night, no gate.
We would not go back.

Just had two weeks at this fabulous site, everything about this site is exceptional, spotless clean facilities, convenient location for bus service, and above all quiet and peaceful, would recommend unreservedly.
Park and Ride at Truro is free for bus pass holders after 0900 and bus service from Truro is well connected to most local destination, trip from Truro to Falmouth on the river and return on the bus is recommended.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone this is the best place to come in August when the rest of Cornwall is manic.
Great site, very clean and well kept. This site is in a good location for visiting north and south coast, and there is a lot of interesting places to visit, Coast great for National Trust. The bus stop is at the end of the drive so no need to use the car. Truro park and ride is only £1.00 so easy to visit the city and cathedral.
Best place to stay in August as there are no children allowed on site, not that I am against children on sites but it is nice to have some sites for Adults only for a truly relaxing break.
Toilet blocks are very clean at all times, Richard, Mandy and Debbie are always busy improving and maintaining the site.
Good value for money, people return year after year.

I only need one word to review this site - Fantastic.
Been reluctant to submit this review as we want to keep it to ourselves!
The owners are so helpful and friendly. There are lots of quiet walks along tracks/lanes from the site. If you have a dog there is a separate camp area with a field adjacent.
The village has most things you need a fish/chip shop,a baker.2 small supermarkets and ?two pubs who do meals.
The shower blocks where immaculate, also adjoining shower block where excellent separate larger shower rooms with toilet wash basin shower, for both disabled and able bodied who need space to move

Having returned from a week I can understand why there's few reviews on this site. They want to keep it to themselves ! This is a largish site and as said its not only adult only but over 30's only - we arrived using the sat nav and there are some narrow country lanes on the approach but not to bad.The site is split and I didn't realize that the bottom half where we were was a dog free zone as well,so no kids & no dogs = heaven ;0) Most of the people we spoke to were regulars with some coming literally hundreds of miles several times a year and to be honest on some sites a lot of regulars tend to keep to their little 'click' but here the majority were very friendly. The owners were round the site but never bothered you altho one regular did say that changed if you broke the rules-seems fine to me ! Facilities on our section were a little dated but worked fine-the other section is new apparently. All in all a lovely stay and I can see why people go back year in year out especially with the low prices

Fabulous site, honest to goodness site fees (especially the over 55s).One of the best introductory booklets we've seen(it tells you most things you will ever want to know about the site and area). Its central to all the main tourist spots with Truro about 10- 15 mins away, we recommend using the truro park and ride.
The staff are very friendly, smiling and helpful. Toilets are very clean and the showers hot and free.Dont forget T.V. Has gone digital, no analogue.Site very quiet.Electric hookups everywhere. We've been twice now and will definitely go again.

Park for the over 30,s very quite mostly caravans. Nearest pub, 3 off in chacewater village 3/4 miles down the road, no paths down to it. Not advisable to walk, safer by taking the car. Central for most resorts, we enjoyed it. Very friendly and clean and will go again when camping in Cornwall

Visited Chacewater Park at the beginning of July. Was a very pleasant site with good facilities. Toilet block and showers were good and cleaned daily. Small shop in reception area and good supply of information on places to visit. Dog walk area was a huge field attached to the camp site and was good to let your dog have a good run. The park was very quiet as no children or people under 30 are allowed. Very peaceful and relaxing. At night the site is very dark and you need a good torch to find your way to the toilet block etc. Enjoyed the week we spent there and would definitely consider staying there again.
