A lovely and beautifully kept site. The pitches were level and generous.
The showers and toilets were clean and plentiful but water ran colder at busy peroids.
We took young children and they were entertained by the large playground, outdoor pool and children's discos at night.
It was an excellent location for exploring cornwall and we had a great week despite poor weather.

It is difficult to envisage a prettier park in Cornwall. Facilities were fairly comprehensive, easily accessible and clean. This park has an almost continental feel. I felt very safe in allowing my 11 year old daughter to wander around the site (pool excepting as no life guard is on duty, the site sensibly requesting adults accompany children at the pool). All prices excepting peak season times (for caravan/camping pitches) carry heavy discounts on the 2005 tariff. Our large trailer tent and two adults plus one child cost only £6.50 per night (without electric)! I feel that the owner is correct in offering reasonable discounts for the off-peak season, as another nice site nearby I checked out was virtually empty at the time (calloose being half full). Parbola (another beautiful site), please take note! The pitches are mostly perfectly flat and fairly large, with the grass well kept.Other contributors have claimed that the showers at Calloose are too hot. I did not personally find this a problem. I did however feel that a 5mph speed limit should have been more rigorously enforced (many campers and even trade visitors going way too fast for comfort). My only other gripe was that the freezer for ice packs was broken on my arrival. As I had no electrical connection and about £150 of fresh shopping going off in the heat, this presented a problem for me (which I felt the owner did not fully appreciate). A new freezer did however appear after about 7 days (I did arrive on the bank holiday weekend, and so do appreciate the difficulty the owner probably had in sorting this problem out). It was nevertheless time consuming buying fresh food on a daily basis. This could of course happen on any site and does not reflect on the overall quality of calloose. We have camped the length of Cornwall over many years, and have found no better site. I cannot say fairer than that.

June 2005 You really can't go wrong if you pay a visit to this site. Well managed site with on site entertainment if you want it. Safe for the children to play. Our pitch like all the others was level well tended and well drained - we had rain and no puddles. The top shower block was a bit hit and miss with the hot water. Water pressure seemed too low in the shower. All kept clean. Seemed to be a clear favourite with a regular and returning customer base of caravaners. Location is ideal being about as in the middle as you can get and therefore never more than 5 miles from the coast. Would we return again - Yes.

August 2003 I found Calloose to be the best caravan park my family have ever visited. It is not too big and the staff and family who own it were extremely friendly and helpful. The children had a wonderful time and it definitely felt a safe place for them to run around and play. We shall definately be visiting them again in the summer holidays, it would be a hard task to find a park as beautifully kept and clean as this one.

April 2003
I also agreed with the others about the showers, To hot for our 3 children.
The camp site had nice level pitches (Ideal for Camping with Children) and a nice family Atmosphere.
The staff in the club house when out of there way to help and entertain.
Nice 4 days.

July 2001 Fairly good site. Bit too regimented pitch sizes for my liking. Better suited to tourers rather than campers. Good facilities, centrally located. Hot showers (agree with the other reviewer, they were sometimes too hot!). Great for kids. Not really a lot in the immediate vicinity but some nice walks. Very friendly owner. Seemed to know everyone on site personally, except us.
I don't recall queing for anything so therefore it must have been a good site.

May 2002 Family-run, medium sized, quiet park. Entertainment and food very good. The facilities were very clean and my complaint was that the showers were TOO hot! (The children couldn't stand underneath them for long). Play ground area very good. Heated pool was closed at the time. My only grumble is the state of the fencing around the crazy golf area - fences had been blown down and sharp nails were left on the ground.
Close to the train for St Ives. Paradise Park is not far.
All in all, we had a lovely few days there and are hoping to return in the summer.
