Thank you for an great camp site.

Clean amenities, level ground and despite the heatwave, remarkably green! and minimum rules - common sense really!

The ability to pretty much choose where you want to put your tent was brilliant. Plenty of space for everyone. We didn't have children, but there was a rounders match going on further up the field and it did not disturbing us at all.

The signpost for the campsite is set back from the road and we had driven past it before we realised that was the turning. The turning is almost opposite the pub. Plenty to see and do near by too.

If you have an allergy to horses this is not a site for you.

We will definitely be back.

Stayed here for a few nights at the beginning of the summer holidays. The weather was so hot but we were able to pitch in the shade of some trees thankfully. The owner kindly leant us an extension for the EHU.

The facilities are good. Plenty of hot water in the showers and washing up area. The use of the freezer and fridge were really welcome in the hot weather.

On our first night there was only us and one other tent in the field. After that a very large group arrived of about 8 tents together and loads of children. No problems with the big group at all. The site was pretty much silent by 10. 30pm.

My slight niggle was the cleanliness of the ladies loos after the big group arrived. Lots of little children in and out of the loos unaccompanied and as a result one of the toilets was so dirty it was unusable. The toilet was left like this for a good 12 hours. I would suggest that when the site is busy (especially with children) that the toilets should be cleaned twice a day rather than once.

Otherwise a really pleasant site with extremely helpful and friendly owners. It is a farm and you can watch horses being trained. Lots of space for children to play in.

There is a little shop in reception selling ice creams etc. If you want a simple site with friendly owners then this is the one for you.

Stayed at this site for a week. Nice open field with unregimented pitches. The site was very quiet all week as it was outside of the school holidays. It filled up more on Friday night and the kids all seemed to enjoy having plenty of space to play in. The showers were clean and there was plenty of free hot water. In the mens room there were 3 showers, 3 loos and 5 hand basins. They didn't seem too busy on the Friday night so must be enough. Access to the small feezer was helpful for keeping the blocks frozen for the cool box. There are 2 free fridges and a microwave oven if you need them. Washing machines and tumber drier at a cost. There was a shop in the office but we didn't use it so cant really comment on it. Fire pits are allowed if using one of their pits which can be hired as needed priced at £16.

The pub across the road from the entrance is being refurbished so that will be a nice extra when opened.

There's a Budgens supermarket in Kimbolton which sells everything you could want.

All in all a great site that we will go back to.

Stayed here for a weekend with friends - only 40 mins drive from home so ideal location for us for just a weekend. Very spacious campsite with good open space in the middle for ball games etc. We liked be able to have camp fires, the abundant hot water for washing up and showers and beautiful walks around the gorgeous countryside. Not a criticism of the campsite per se but I have never been to a site where the other campers were so unfriendly - very odd lot - not an exchange of pleasantries or anything from neighbours (maybe they disliked our children although they were not very loud or early risers!) We had a good weekend nonetheless.

What a fantastic campsite! Stayed here for two nights in August with wife and 3 young children. The site is clean and quiet and had no problem with booking via email. Owners are friendly and helpful. The site is a decent size so it doesn't feel overcrowded, toilets are lovely and clean, showers are good and washing up facilities close by too - even fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a (very) small on-site shop where you can get a can a drink, bottle of water or ice-creams (all very cheap - it would be nice if they did more but understandable). The pub over the road is fine for a drink in the beer garden with small kids playground and the local budgens is walkable (or 2mins in the car). Overall very impressed and pleased with our stay - we will be returning again soon!

Wonderful open campsite, with plenty of room for children to play. Spacious unmarked pitches and the relaxed attitude of arriving and leaving when you liked was lovely as we had had rain in the morning of us leaving and really didn't want to put a wet tent away.

The toilets and showers are top notch with plenty of hot water. The dish washing area is also great, you have the use of a microwave, fridge and washing machine and again lots of hot water which is a must when you're washing up after a fry up in the morning.

Karl and Fiona are wonderful and accommodating and a pleasure to talk to. They provide a paid for a cooked breakfast from his griddle under the marque on Sunday which was great.

Really enjoyed our stay will visit again.

Great little site. Large, flat, grassy pitches in well maintained fields. The ground is quite hard so make sure you take sturdy pegs. We stayed in the non EHU field over bank holiday weekend. The site was busy but it never felt overcrowded. This field is a little exposed so when it is windy you do feel it.

Well maintained shower and toilet block plus a family/disabled shower room. Plenty of hot water. Pot wash room with pay-to-use washing machines (£4 per wash), a fridge, freezer and microwave all for camper use.

Family run campsite on a working farm and all the family help out. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. You can even watch horses being trained on site.

There are minimal rules on the site and everyone behaves respectfully and the owner is on the ball. The site welcomes groups and the only thing I would say is that there is no noise curfew, they just ask for people to be aware at night of noise carrying etc. It was quite noisy in our field until around 12:30am each night which would be a little annoying if you wanted to sleep before this. However, the owner was more than happy to speak to groups who were being too noisy in the day or night. I’m not a fan of 10 or 11pm noise curfews but I do think that the site should perhaps have a midnight noise curfew just to ensure everyone can get a decent night’s sleep. This was a busy bank holiday weekend though so I don’t think that this is the norm.

Fire pits can be hired for £15 to include 2 bags of logs, firelighters and kindling. This was enough to last us 3 nights easily but more can be bought if required. Pits are delivered and set up on your site and then emptied daily.

Every Sunday (and Monday on bank holidays) the owners set up a cooking station and cook bacon, egg, sausages and at £2. 50 a go it is well worth it on packing up day.

There is a pub directly opposite the site that offers food. Advisable to book in advance at busy times as we couldn’t get a table. You can walk in to Kimbolton along the main road where there is a well- stocked Budgens and 2 pubs serving food. I can recommend The Saddle, helpful bar staff and good food with nice beer garden. Sadly I cannot say the same for The New Sun Inn where the landlady was extremely rude. Everything was too much trouble and this was made obvious to the customers. We quickly drank up and took our business elsewhere leaving behind an empty pub and restaurant! A bus service runs between Tilbrook and Kimbolton which I’d recommend if you don’t want to get stung for a £20 taxi fare for a 3 mile journey. There is no taxi firm in Kimbolton so the taxis have to come in from about 20 miles away and the charge reflects this!

Enjoyable weekend had by all and I am sure that we will return.

First review of our first camping trip!

Booking was easy. Allowed to arrive and leave as we pleased, no set times, which was great.

Arrived to find only a couple of other tents in the EHU field with the owners out for the day. Ideal to avoid anyone see us making a spectacle of ourselves! The owner said we could pitch where we liked, but did advise that a couple of larger groups were due in later, and he was thinking about putting them either end of the field. Fine by us, pitched along the edge in record breaking time; well, beat our record of 1 hour ten mins!

The owner offerred us a fire pit, but was not pushy in any way, and we decided not to on this occasion.

By the end of the day the other groups had arrived and set up, families with lots of kids. They were soon having a great time with rounders and football etc.

EHU worked fine, toilets, showers all really good, spotless etc.

Local Budgen shop has pretty much everything, few minutes down the road.

Walked round Grafham Waters, no, not all the way! Nice and sunny, sunburnt and ice cream, perfick.

Had a couple of barbies, lovely. All quiet at night times.

EVERYONE went home Sunday apart from us, so field to ourselves. Made the most of it; turned the music up an extra notch. I know, daring.

Put the tent down in pouring rain, didn't dampen our spirits.

Great site, especially enjoyed the walk from the site as shown by the very helpful owner, and watching horse training, fascinating.

Would defo recommend and will return.

Booked next trip for Aug B/H, different type of site, cafe, bar, adults only, fishing lake, a bit dearer. I hope I don't regret it, but we thought try something a bit different and then we have comparisons for the future.

We choose this campsite when staying near Cambridge and very pleased we did. All the owners family pitch in and could not be more helpful. Everything has been thought through putting other older sites to shame. The toilet blocks are better than some hotels. Pub is at the entrance to the site, good food too! Good walks from the campsite. Lots of space for kids. Sunday breakfast in the marquee was a cracking idea. I'm not really the type that does reviews but the owners were so helpful I wanted to communicate what a great set up they have created. Thanks

We camped here as a large group this summer and had a great time. The facilities are fab - hot, powerful showers, clean toilets, great washing up area. I would only choose a campsite that allows fires, and the owners here provide absolutely everything you need. There is loads of space for games and not to feel like you're crowding in on other campers. There is also a camp shop, selling ice-creams and ice-pops which the kids loved. I would definitely recommend this campsite, and we are planning another trip next year.
