Lovely site, we will be returning. The owners were lovely, very helpful. I loved the fire pits being delivered to your pitch and set up for you if wanted. The black bag being provided for rubbish on arrival is really useful as is their recycling. This ground is flat, the washrooms/toilets etc are new and well maintained. The site was busy when we visited but there is plenty of room for all and everyone seemed to respect the space. Ideal for a get together of many tents.

Great new site with lovely facilities. The fields behind the site were recently ploughed and the farmer gave us permission to roam freely, there are some nice walks from the site, and a woods to explore!

The farmer and his wife made us feel very welcome, and even fired up the grill in the morning for some delicious bacon rolls!

We will definitely be back, and if you're debating whether or not to stop here - you definitely should! (The pub is good too!)

Although only spending a saturday night at this site, I can safely say it was an absolutely fab site. I only live a few miles away but wanted somewhere to camp with a friend who lives further away, and our children. Knowing most of the sites quite close to me I was pleasantly surprised to discover this new site through 'UK Campsite'.

Being new meant that it has the cleanest toilet and shower facilities I have ever used and I've been camping for over 30 years. It also has fantastic washing up facilities with fridges for us to use too, although at the moment there is no freezer for the cool box ice blocks that I tend to use.

The site is in such a big field that there is so much room for the kids to play in which is what camping is all about and you can walk across the fields too when you need to stretch your legs from all the relaxing! The kids really enjoyed themselves and loved the very friendly dog and horses along with the freedom that such a well positioned site gives, including a water fight they were lucky enough to have due to the gorgeous weather.

The owners were very friendly and were great with the kids. They personally delivered our campfire to us and we all loved cooking marshmallows round it (it's moments like those that the kids will remember when they are older).

The pub over the road was also great and has a big garden with play equipment to keep the children happy.

So to sum up our experience of this site is to say that it is fantastic and although I don't live far away I don't normally travel in this direction so will definitely be back.

Great campsite. Set in beautiful countryside.

Pitch where you like along the out side of the field/s.

Toilet and shower facilities are clean and although only three of each (in the ladies) I didn't have to wait to use the facilities.

Dog are welcome to camp too!

The site owner was polite and friendly. Contact details for him are on show in the reception window if you need him out of hours or can't locate him.

We hired a fire pit, it was £12 plus £2 for wood. The wood was fantastic and burnt for hours.

There is no child's play area but then it is a working farm. There is more than enough space to play, with families playing Tag, cricket and football.

I think the site could benefit from a 'quiet after. ' policy.

Having two young children, 4 & 2, they struggled to sleep even past their bed time and in pitch darkness as other older children were shouting and screaming within feet of our tent. Even running between our car and tent, which were within feet of each other. Their parents did nothing to stop them. Very annoying and I think rude.

Being bank holiday it rained. And rained. At the end of the second day we packed up the contents of our tent and headed home. We left our tent standing in the field! We collected it yesterday.

There is a washing up room with three sinks. The room also has two fridges and a microwave. Very handy and useful.

At weekends/BH Carl and family do bacon, sausage and egg baps for £2. 50ea and additional small fee for any extra filling. I think tea and coffee was also available.

Random note: The rubbish bins are located behind the big white marque, I couldn't find them so asked a fellow camper, the chemical toilet facilities are also located here.

Pub opposite the site served nice Ale, can't comment on the food. Food was served until 2. 45 on Sunday and the same Bh Monday. The pub and it's garden could do with some TLC, the kids play equipment was broken in places so take care letting the kids go wild. The farm animals around the back were great though!

Overall I really liked this site, it was our first time camping with the children and although a little noisy at the children's beds time it was a great site to start with. We will visit again.

This is a lovely campsite, very close to where we live so great for weekends with friends. It's one field with plenty of space in the middle for ball games etc. Dogs welcome. It's camp where you like (verbal guidance re avoiding trees etc as it was very windy). You can have BBQs and can also borrow one of the excellent firepits (a cut above the usual rusty wheel inner) and buy a barrow load of dry wood from the owners to have a fire. The facilities are new, clean and very nicely done. Plenty of electric hookups/ water points etc. There's a fridge AND freezer AND microwave in the washing up room! There's a popular pub immediately opposite the campsite but you need to book in advance to eat there. Nearby at Kimbolton (2 miles, walkable but not sensible in the dark or with little kids) is a good Budgens. Also 2 more pubs, some little shops (hardware, café, gifts, deli, chemist, tiny bank. ) and a church with a very unusual stained glass window by Tiffany which is worth a look. Short drive to the A14 for Cambridge etc.

We booked for 2 nights but when we arrived it had started to rain hard so we bailed and came back for breakfast in the morning - ie. We stayed one night but 2 whole days and were only charged for 1 night although we offered to pay for 2. Also you could pay on-site with a card which is v convenient.

Next day was dry and sunny but next morning was raining hard again and the owners were doing teas and breakfast rolls in a marquee - great fun and very sociable. I don't know if it was impromptu but it wasn't advertised so on a dry day they'd probably get more custom if people knew in advance (on such a wet day it was the obvious thing to do!)

The ground did get very soft in the rain and some of my pegs pulled out (though the rain and wind was exceptionally bad) so if rain is expected you might want to use heavy duty pegs.

The owners are very friendly and helpful - clearly keen to make their campsite a really good one. Interestingly they said that they were not campers themselves but had taken advice from a friend with an award-winning site. One small thing that I'd see as an improvement would be a bit more guidance, eg. A sheet of info about where to camp/not to camp, where it's OK to walk off-site, what the evening 'quiet-time' is, whether dogs should be on a lead or not etc. As it is, there's just a note on the website (which most of my party had never visited) asking people to behave well. Admirable and everyone likes a site without too many rules but we all have a different idea about what's OK. Because there was no specific guidance the owner kept coming round asking people to do things a bit differently (eg. Move away from trees, move their cars, reign in their dogs) which was labour-intensive for him and a bit stressful for me as I kept wondering if he was going to come over to me next. If there is specific guidance (eg. Tents at least 6 metres from big trees) you know what's acceptable and what is not and if other campers persistently flout the rules (eg. Loud music at midnight) you have a leg to stand on if you want to ask them to stop. Small thing though, have still given it 9/10. Good luck with the new venture and we would definitely go back.

I too was tempted to not review this site, wanting to keep it our little secret gem but the owners are so welcoming that I just had to share. This place is for me perfect :) pitch where you like, nice and flat and free draining, beautiful natural landscape with walks around the farmland. Fantastic toilet and washing up facilities done to a very high standard and kept spotlessly clean. The farm allow you to use their fire pits as long as you use their very generous barrows full of very good burning wood. This site was just so peaceful, just what we want from a campsite. If you want a loud party please do not come because the tranquillity of this place is just wonderful. The site is not full of signs and rules and everyone was very respectful of each other. The owners were so very welcoming and lovely with our children. We really can't wait to return to this little piece of heaven. The pub outside the site looks lovely however we didn't use it this visit but it's very convenient. A perfect place for peaceful natural camping. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I did think about not reviewing this site because its that good I would like to keep it to myself.

This is a farm site (horses and wheat). Pitches are unmarked and water and hook up points are dotted around the edge of the field. The ground has a lot of stones so you will need better than pin pegs.

The site is brand new and the facilities were spotless. Hot water was plentiful and the shower cubicles spacious. The site was very peaceful, the wildlife made the most noise!

We had an evening meal at the rather excellent White Horse pub across the road (booking advised) and on returning found the fire pit I had ordered had been assembled near our pitch, along with a generous wheelbarrow full of logs.

We had a lovely stay and we will definitely return, and we wish the owners every success.

What a great camping experience we had at Summerfield Farm this weekend. We were looking for a 'real' campsite experience where we could enjoy a campfire in countryside surroundings and this site certainly delivered. Our two young kids loved the space to run around and play and the on site B&B option worked really well for the Grandparents who wanted to spend the weekend with us but couldn't be persuaded to go under canvas!

The setting is peaceful with lovely views of the farmland whilst the facilities are of a very high standard. The owners are clearly keen to ensure campers have a good stay and were very friendly and helpful.

A great camping experience for families with young kids and for getting together as a group with family friends.

We were looking for somewhere fairly local to spend a couple of nights. There hasn't been much choice for somewhere close by but then we stumbled across this new site on uk campsite. What a result! Facilities were new and spotless. Showers were powerful and there was plenty of hot water. Owners were very friendly. We watched a horse training session one morning which was great. The field is spacious with no fixed pitches so you can choose where to set up. The pitches were flat and sheltered. We had a firepit which was nice.

Plenty of space for football, biking and various other sports. There's a track round the farm for walking and biking. The children certainly slept well at night! The pub opposite was closed for a private party but looked very welcoming.

We are delighted to have found this site so close to home.

I'm very sorry for not having written this review sooner. We camped here when trying out our new awning, as it's a nice local site for us. As it turned out it felt a million miles away. Lovely peaceful rural setting. Lovely dog walk out the back of the site, with great views back down on the campsite. The facilities are brilliant, no complaints, very new and modern. The site is very large and we had acres to ourselves. Everything was top notch.
