We visited this campsite at the end of November, it was our first time in a pod (we have a tent)so not sure what to expect.
We were greeted by the owner who explained about the site and showed us to the pod. He had put us another little heater in there as it was very cold, but we didn't need it the pod was very warm even during the night, in fact too warm for me but other half liked it.
There was a sofa bed to sleep 2 adults, but the centre join was a pain and it was very narrow so for our second night my other half slept on the bean bag bed, again meant for 2 adults but to be honest both beds were only really suitable for 1 adult. As was the size of the pod only large enough to accommodate 2 adults not 4. Yes you could say you spend more time out and about but you have to sleep in there with all your bags and what not, it just isn't big enough. We did mention this this to the owner, who understandably said he is trying to recoup some of his outlay.
We also lost our T. V signal many times and could only ever get 2 channels, as we don't usually have a TV when camping but due to time of season and location this was supposed to be a bonus, the owner told us that when he had the ariels fitted, he was told they both worked, and he checked the other pod and yes that one did work, but not ours!
The shower facilities are a little strange, the only wash basin (ladies washroom)is directly in front of the entrance door, so as you are cleaning your teeth and someone wants to come into the washroom you are exposed to the field and have to move away from the basin to allow other campers to enter, then move again to allow them to go into the toilets, which are directly behind the basin, not very practical at all and annoying!
The gents washroom I am told is more like a shed with a corrugated plastic roof.
The kitchen is very useful and we used it many times, as did the other campers on site, we know this because they left their dirty dishes in the sink. Only gripe hear was the load music blaring out 24/7, don't get that.
There are some lovely walks around the mere, and we tried to walk into Ellesmere but after a an hour plus, along the tow path with still about 30 mins to reach the town we turned back.
Ellesmere is a lovely little place and while we were there it was their Christmas Wonderland night when they turned on the Christmas lights and Father Christmas visited, the locals are friendly.
Further afield is Oswestry, a bigger town with great restaurants, pubs and shops.
I booked this pod, as I have many campsites from reviews on this website, so I feel I have to say how the experience was for us. Its a new site that needs some rethinking and perhaps if the owners use the facilities as we campers do, it will highlight areas for improvement.

Dave and Ingrid were the perfect hosts - we booked very last minute with an email enquiry and Dave called back the same day and squeezed us in. From the minute we arrived, he was warm and friendly, providing a map of the local area and ideas of things to do and see. He was always about on site should we have need to talk to him and Ingrid juggled her work outside with keeping the site nice and clean. We were situated on the edge of the lake, which was perfect for cycling around.
If adventurous, we could have also walked to Ellesmere along the canal. We had foolishly forgotten our electrical adaptor, but Dave loaned us a brand new one, still in it's bag. He also invited us for drinks on the Saturday night, in the very useful kitchen/dining area, along with his own guests and friends which was extremely kind of him. The ladies' facilities were great - a nice thought to have a bath mat as many campsites have you standing on a cold wet floor to dry off following a shower.
They were kept clean, tidy and well-stocked. As mentioned previously, the kitchen area was well-made and included a communal 'fridge which was useful for milk kept in a hot tent! The pitch was well-mown and no clippings in sight. There are also braziers for rental should campers wish to sit outdoors at night. Overall a lovely find and we would definitely recommend this site and hope to return again one day. Thank you Dave and Ingrid for your hospitality!
(My rating for child-friendliness reflects the fact that this site is advertised as an Adults-only site, which we were extremely pleased with)

Just spent three nights at this adorable campsite with friends. Owners Dave and Ingram very welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Showers block well equipped and lovely hot free showers.
Kitchen area abundant with everything you need including fridge tea and coffee facilities and large seating area with barbecues available. Although a small site plenty of space to enjoy the idyllic peaceful surroundings.
We walked along the canal to Ellesmere where there were plenty of narrow boats and ducks for company. As avid canoes all agreed this is a great site to pitch. We will definitely be returning. Denise, Jenny, Julius and Kerry

Had to return to this beautiful place after being one of the first campers through the gates last year when it opened and as I expected it was still as peaceful and pretty as it was.
The welcome from owners Dave and ingrid was sincere as usual this time we decided to try one of their pods which was very nicely finished with heaters, lights, leather sofa, double mattress bed, bin, mirror candles and even a tv for the football.
Our friends booked the one next to us we had fantastic warm weather
Another beautiful walk to welshampton to the sun inn pub for a few drinks,
A nice night in the campers kitchen with food and drink,
As before toilets and showers were spotless friendly campers from our neck of the woods in the same field was a nice surprise too
All in all another great visit and we will return again soon even our dogs love this place.

Very quite site in the middle of no where down a single track road.
Has a campers kitchen which is a nice touch has a fridge but no freezer so can't freeze ice packs!
Generally disappointed with this site though. Really a very over priced CL site.
Toilets & showers need a lot of work in an old shed, mens one shower/toilet together which meant that if men wanted to use the loo while someone was in the shower they had to use a not very nice workmens porta loo! Ladies had 2 loos and 2 showers but all were really tiny. Couldn't get dressed with out everything getting wet. Only one sink which meant that you couldn't wash your hands if someone was cleaning there teeth. Could have been a bit cleaner and kept on running out of loo roll.
We were not allowed to have our car next to the tent had to be in car park 2 fields away! A lot of dogs were running loose. A long walk to loos through caravan field and another which had a large hole in the middle which wasn't lit at night.
Seems to want to do more with the glamping pops but really needs some more up market showers if they really expect people to pay the prices for those!
OK if you have a caravan with your own facilities but not ideal for a tent.

Second time to Colemere, we went last November and we had to return.
Its one of my favourite campsites, the welcome you receive on arrival is just a small part of it. Situated in rural Shropshire, its in a lovely quiet location, a longish walk along the canal to Ellesmere, or a short drive.
Its adjacent to Colemere, a lake with excellent walks around it, great for dog walking or just a stroll.
The campsite itself has around 5 or 6 hookup pitches, as well as a couple of lodges and an old fashioned romany caravan for hire. There are also some non hook up pitches.
There is a communal area, undercover, with great seating, a fridge, washup area, microwave and tea and coffee facilities. Never come across anything like this at any other casmpsite. Its very clean and tidy too.
The toilet facilities are separate for men and women and very very clean. There is only one each but it wasn't an issue for the size of the site.
Also there is an elsan point.
Nearby is the village of Welshampton and it has a great little pub that us dog friendly.
Other than that, a great site, really a gem, well worth a trip.

Stayed again and the site is still lovely.
Prices have increased a degree and I see they have contradicting website prices.
They have planning application for more pods (have two at moment with a old gypsy caravan). I guess this is the way they wish to go.
The site is absolutely beautiful, the owners are nice and surrounding area is great BUT I think ive been priced out (£27 Per night) for two adults, dog, caravan (serviced grass pitch) and young adult ie 1 family.
Site is wonderful for camping. If you camp/stay on first field near toilets you have a great kitchen area with fridge and eating area.
Caravan pitches
First almost flat
Second getting a bit of a slope
Third definitely need ramps and face side on.
Big question, Will I go again? only as a very special treat.

Friendliest welcome that I have had from any campsite. Wonderful spot next to the Mere with lovely walks, very quiet area. Quite a quirky and homely kitchen area with lots of facilities. Only stopped one night as I was working but will certainly go back for a visit when I have more time. They also had glamping pods on site that looked interesting. Would highly recommend this site. Have to give a child friendly rating but have no idea as there were no children there so am unable to comment so given a nominal 5.

Nice campsite but a bit expensive at £21 Per night for this time of year with electric, Have good electric hook up points with a attached cold water tap, but the water wasn't turned on so had to keep walking to the communal area for fresh water, nearest shops etc 10 mins drive, good walking area just off the site around the lake. Shower and toilets nice and clean just a little bit cramped with the shower right next to the toilet in the same vicinity

I've been again.
This time my parents were trying out their caravan.
When they arrived it was/had been raining hard. The ground was a bit damp to say the least.
Rather than watching them struggle the owner arranged for a tractor to tow the caravan into the field to make sure all was OK.
He also did this for others that arrived.
The tractor stayed on site all weekend at the ready.
Again the greeting I am told was exceedingly thorough.
The ground soon dried out as a couple in a tent arrived and proved.
Again the site was looking beautiful and with only 5 caravans, both pods and a tent, peaceful.
The weekend turned out to be good weather.
We Walked around the mere and fields.
Into Ellesmere.
This site is a gem.
They have a large cooking/communal/dining/washing area. This I noticed was being used on the Sunday by the camping couple to make a lovely meal in the morn after showering.
None of the struggling normally associated with camping in a large field.
Seriously hope this place doesn't get too busy as I love it and wish to always get a space.
Plenty of space at the mo.
Now I've said its great let me scan over all.
Great size
Great owners
Clean large shower/toilet, yes 1 men's, 1 women's but always free
Great cooking/dining/communal/washing area
No children's area
Allowed fires under restrictions
Great area and walks
Easy access
Close to town, within walking
Far end slopes a lot but the whole area in general is quite flat
Ehu is a double out with tap so is serviced
No hard standings yet, sunken plastic grids may help
On leaving the ground was damp but no issues for us. Next door caravan made use of tractor.
Fan place and will become a regular trip for us and my parents.
