We stayed here on this Bank Holiday Weekend, we did pre book as we were one of three families staying together with two big and one smaller tent to accommodate 10 kids and 6 adults. The ground we were on sloped a fair bit and I had massive holes under my tent! We were made to pitch very close together indeed - definitely no where near the 6m rule. We were also asked to move our cars more than once to accommodate more tents to pitch very close to us! The toilets were basic but fine, did run out of toilet paper at one point and the same towel seemed to be there all weekend! Didn't brave the showers, but was assured by another camper that they were hot - I just didn't fancy them looked dark and small. Men did laugh that the toilet doors seem to have been hung upside down on their side as you could see peoples knees! Have to agree with other reviews there were many 'lived in' caravans on site. Water supply also would recommend boiling before use as hose pipe from tap not too clean. On the plus side not all pitches are near the road. Arundel is a beautiful place and Chichester is not too far. Ideal for a one night or two night stay.

This site was usefull as a stop over, but is crowded and basic.
Close to A27, nice beefeater within a short distace, close to Arudel and all it attractions.
As previous reviews have said there are a lot of what look to be seasonal pitch caravans which are quite shabby, and there a quite a few dogs on site.

Reading this I feel I must comment. I have stayed here a number of times. Shower block clean, but basic. Easy access through the pub car park. Owners are fine and polite. Main road very near as you would guess as site is on A27, but noise levels are low. I slept just fine. The so called 'naff expensive, no atmosphere' pub next door is a Beefeater chain pub, they do the job and staff are fine. I recomend this site to all, a few days is great.

The site was not easy to enter (through a pub car park). Hosts were not very welcoming. Pitch was not marked out but was flat. Electric hookup was only 10 amps so kept on cutting out every time we boiled a kettle. Toilets were fairly clean but not inviting, they were badly lit as were the showers. The showers worked fine but needed redecorating and updating. The pub provided a reasonably priced meal but lacked atmosphere. Not really a site to recommend, but it was fairly close to Arundel and there was a wonderful view of the castle just 5 minutes walk down the hill.

Although we paid to stay for one night only, we left after half an hour! Very shabby caravans on site, which looked as if they had been there for years. There was a tent with a vegetable patch, which gave us the impression that there were permanent residents on the site. Barbed wire on the gate also gave a very bad impression. Absolutely nothing to do and next to a very busy main road. The weather didn't help as it was pouring with rain, but we didn't like the atmosphere of the site.

I didn't like this site at all. I was very new to caravanning, this was only my second time and I went with my son and his friend. I found the staff very unhelpful and unfriendly. The site was very small and basic and there was a lot of noise from the road. I ended up leaving very early and in tears and had the staff hovering in case I tried to leave without paying, which I had no intention of doing. This site and the staff very nearly put me off caravanning for life. Truly awful experience.

Campsite was quite hidden, you have to turn into the pub/restaurant to find it. On arrival, the owners were very friendly and helpful, although I was rather shocked to hear them ask all tents to set up close together as they were in for a busy weekend. What happened to the 6 metre rule?? Ladies toilets and showers were together, a little dark inside and half the time the toilets didn't have toilet paper and after you had finished there was no soap to wash your hands with. There were two showers, that were good, free and hot, although for the duration of our stay I saw the same old bottle of shampoo in the showers and wondered when it would be thrown away. For the men's, the only complaint my partner had was that the stall doors were not full size, therefore you could see legs! There is no shop on site, although if you manage to get over the busy road, there is a 24 hour garage where they sell most essentials. The site was quite small, but all the land was flat, handy when in a tent. I enjoyed my stay, but I wouldn't recommend staying anything more than 2-3 nights, not because of the site, but because there isn't really that much to do in arundel.

August 2005 Just spent 2 nights here, 3 adults and 6 children in 3 tents. The owners were pleasant and helpful. A smallish site, but was quiet when we were there so no worries as we couldnt book in advance. The site has a freezer near the toilet block to freeze your ice blocks and there is a fridge too, toilets were basic but clean, showers looked grim but I'm sure they worked ok. Nice level pitches, and well kept grass, Arundel is within 20 min walking distance, the castle is amazing though Arundel itself is pretty dull. I wouldnt want to stay there much more that 3 or 4 nights as there is a fair amount of road noise, but its not unbearable. There is a pub next door but the food was expensive and naff and we were asked to leave at 9pm due to the fact we had kids, even though it was practically empty!
