This site has reopened for the 2018 season. Just turn up see Pete the warden. Nice place very basic pub open just outside. A warm welcome. But still open give it a try. Basic but friendly.

Having driven into Maynards Camp site near Arundel, we were surprised at how many very dirty caravans were there. We carried on and booked in, were told to ' pitch anywhere' We initially booked in for 3 nights, but left after 2. The toilet block never saw a cleaner, we had to clean the loo ourselves to use it, the showers showed signs of mildew and dirt. And to top it all, the electricity kept tripping out, and the final straw was when it went out most of the night. Although the price is very reasonable if you pay for power you expect to use it. This could be a lovely site, it is in a good position and has a good bus service, but it needs care and attention.

Reception was welcoming.
Shower/toilet facilities were functional but perfectly clean with plenty of hot water, soap, etc.
Excellent meal at the Beefeater adjacent to the site - very friendly staff.
Quite a pleasant little site overall and good value for money but would have been made better if:
A) the grass had been cut (6' high grass wet with morning dew/rain soaked through our shoes)
B) there hadn't been quite so many 'residential/contractors' caravans covered in moss/algae and surrounded by paraphernalia (c15 or more)in situ. At first I thought we had entered a travellers site!

Spent just two nights here. Beware the tricky entrance through the hotel car park - easy to miss on such a busy road. Plenty of space despite the month. Toilet block spotless but only two male showers. Lots of hot water but the showers are a little tricky to operate. Good service and food in the adjacent hotel's restaurant. The walk into Arundel is not pleasant - main road with narrow footpath. However there is an excellent 20 minute bus service during the day to either Arundel or Brighton. Good value for money.

Spent a weekend away from the rate race here, with dog in tow-even though off A27 no noise to complain about
Weather was lovely
Ate out in Arundel tapas like meal excellent quality, staff and price!
Camp site clean, relaxing, enjoyable to chew the fat over a bottle or two!
Friendly helpful staff-very accommodating
Toilets showers clean
Lots to do will be back that's a threat!
Small but lacked for nothing
Thumbs up Maynards, paw up from dog who didn't want to leave!

Different people want different things from campsites and we met people staying here who had returned several times. With so many sites full in the first week of the school holidays we booked in for 2 nights for a relaxing break but for us the road noise was overbearing, almost constant and made us realise that peace and quiet and a rural location is a must have. That said the low price per night probably reflects the site's location and the facilities whilst not the best are OK - we have certainly seen much worse.
Main plus points: Price and being able to walk into Arundel saves the hassle and cost of parking. Staff friendly.

Just like a few others I read the reviews first and I think anyone with any negative comments about this site shouldn't be camping in the first place.
The campsite itself is clean, well laid with plenty of electric hook ups.
The shower blocks are clean, spacious with plenty of hot water.
The price of a pitch is relevant to the surroundings, yes the A27 is close but by no means overbearing, and who can grumble when you've got the stunning Arundel town 15 mins walk away.
This campsite might not have all the facilities under the sun, but its a lovely place to be, and I'm definitely going back.
