What a fabulous site.
Yes there is background noise from airplanes and the race circuit - but it is background noise only, other than that it is very peaceful and quiet.
Yes there are only 2 bathrooms (and beautiful immaculate bathrooms they are with powerful showers), but with a maximum of 18 pitches (only half full when we stayed) we never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes if at all.
There is a 2 minute walk to the local pub or about a 15 minute walk into castle Donington with several pubs, cafes and restaurants and a handy Co-Op
Owner very helpful and friendly - Adult only I think

This adult only, peaceful and dog friendly site is immaculately kept, with lovely owners and the two self contained bathrooms are equally immaculately decorated and maintained.
You'd think that with only two bathrooms (loo, sink and shower) there'd be an issue, but I was there on a busy weekend, and most units there are motorhomes with their own facilities, so there was only one occasion where I saw a person take a seat on the benches outside and admire the gardens for the few minutes it took for a shower to be free.
The focal point is the lake and the borders around it, complete with moorhens and ducklings. Castle Donington with all its facilities is about a ten minute walk away.
The site is on a flight path, and the road and nearby racetrack is also audible, there is background noise, however the site itself is a very calm space and I didn't find the sounds obtrusive at all.
If you're going in a motorhome or caravan you'll have a lovely time anywhere on site. If you're going in a tent, a few things worth knowing: many of the pitches are quite steeply sloping, and in hot weather the ground can bake like iron in places and be hard to get a peg into.
Talk with the owner about which pitch for you, they are very helpful about matching the right pitch to the right unit. Due to the lake, in some weather conditions you see no bugs at all for days, and then at other times it can suddenly get extremely buggy, go prepared with the mosquito repellant!
You're more or less on the M1 junction 24 so fast reach of lots of surrounding areas, and while the site is easy to find, it's tucked behind high hedging and discreetly labelled with a code locked gate.
A good, secure place for people camping alone.

What a beautiful site. A little hard to find at first as there is no sign from the road.
However, upon arrival. We were met by the owner Floyd. Nice guy gave us the site rules and advised how to access the local pub through a gate at the bottom the site.
We had a hardstanding pitch with electric with a small grass piece next to it enough for our little awning.
The other pitches are nicely spaced however you will need to bring ramps as the is a hill to the site.
Toilets and showers. There is only 2 but immaculately kept. Showers are free and very good.
Weather was exceptional for our stay which always makes the break away perfect.
If I'm ever looking to stay near Nottingham again I'll definitely be back here.

Very friendly welcome from the owner.
Good security. If the gates are locked just phone and she comes and opens them. She gives you the code so you can come and go.
The toilets were really clean.
The site entrance is between the two sets of traffic lights, plenty of space to pull your caravan in.

Beautiful quiet campsite. Showers and toilets top notch. Would revisit without hesitation. Owners friendly and helpful
Campsite is 10 minutes easy walk into a lovely small town with plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants.
15 minutes drive from Nottingham.
A great base to either chill out or stay whilst exploring the local area.

A well hidden gem that you wouldn't realise was there despite being off a main road through a village. Lots of space per pitch, particularly for those with a hookup.
We stayed for 5 nights, suits both long stays and 'pit stop' stays en route elsewhere.
You don't notice the road noise, and being on the flightpath isn't really an issue if you are aware it's there.
Facilities were lovely, even though only two shower/toilet combos (they were almost hotel quality with posh handwash!) Availability of these wasn't a problem, but if all 30 pitches were in use it may be.
The site would benefit from a light over the outdoor pot wash area so washing up can be done at night.
Well kept grounds with young fruit trees scattered around and a picturesque pond and stream. We didn't see the owners on site, (they run one of the local pubs so ventured there to pay them) Bins were emptied and showers cleaned down though so they must be ninjas in the night!
Rates were not inflated due to the pandemic like some sites, £22 pn inc hookup.
1 mile walk to plentiful restaurants and takeaway, and not far from the motorways.
Would happily recommend the site.

Great little site - very convenient to A50/M1, castle Donington and East Midlands Airport.
Despite being so near to all of the above, we didn't hear excess noise and the site is in a lovely little village, which has a friendly local pub. You do feel as if you are miles out in the countryside rather than so close to all the things mentioned above.
The site itself is pristine. The shower facilities are more like those found in a hotel. A previous review did mention there could be a problem if both shower rooms were in use you could have to wait to go to the toilet as they are in the rooms - luckily this wasn't an issue for us, but would possibly be an issue if the site was full.
Very pretty surroundings with a large pond and orchard - the site owner was very friendly - we will definitely be back.
