Just back from spending the weekend at Dale Bottom Farm.
No complaints apart from the shower and toilet block. Depending on the time of day the showers were only luke-warm, inside the showers could be provided with a plastic waste paper bucket as people left rubbish behind on the tiled floor which isnt very nice for the next person going in and some shelves beside the sinks for puting clothes etc.Would have been ideal.
Apart from that the site is very nice and would definitely return.

Great campsite! Good views, conveniently located for keswick town centre and derwent water lake. It was really windy, but plenty of shelter meant we were ok. Regarding the toilet block, ok, could use a facelift, but if you want luxury - book a hotel!
I'd definitely go back.

Stayed here with my two kids for the weekend while hubby was at work, lovely surroundings and perfectly located for most of the lakes, had to pitch the tent on a slope but we managed
Negatives
Toilet block needs massively updating! as does the washing up block (creepy crawlies in the sink etc and not hot water!)
Worst thing though were groups of youths playing loud music and drinking/shouting til gone 2am, luckily the kids slept through it but I couldn't, not sure if I would stay again, Electric kept constantly tripping out aswell, cost £14 for the night

We stayed here from the 31st may till 4th june, this site was recomended by a friend and we weren't disapointed at all, we had a great time. The site is lovely, lovely surroundings by the hills witch are really stunning, toilet facilities are very clean and lovely, hot water everyday. Keswick town centre is only 2 miles away with loads of restaurants and pubs.So overall first time camping in years we had a ball, weather was excellent which was a bonus.

Just returned from a great long weekend staying at this site. We chose our own pitch (the site was quite busy). The views are great and it made a nice base for walking. The toilets are basic as people say and in 3 days there were 2 power cuts so no hot showers! When the power was on they were bearably warm BUT this is camping after all! True re dishwashing facilites but we just filled our dish bowls up from the v hot taps in the loos so no need to queue. The staff were friendly and were able to advise on local walks. Not too far out of Keswick - we used taxis for getting into town at night and the shop was well stocked.

Spent four nights here and all in all pleased with the site. It's in a stunning location, yet only three miles from Keswick. The facilities are pretty basic and it is quite a rugged site, which made it more enjoyable as you actually feel like you are doing some real camping. It was not at all crowded and the owners left you to find your own choice of pitch; we got a hardstanding, with electric tucked nicely away from other units - perfect! Toilets and showers were in old farm buildings and basic, but, contrary to other reviews, there was always lovely hot showers (whatever the time of day) and I never had to actually pay the 20p for them! Generally, a laid back, easy-going, hassle-free site, mainly inhabited by adults and at good value fees.

Basic but nice enough campsite. Every year, a group of 10-12 old uni friends try to camp somewhere over the May Bank holiday weekend. Finding a nice campsite is usually a problem as soon as you mention the "group" word and generally the sites that accept groups are too noisy for us! The farmer was a little warey over the phone, but once we turned up he was friendly and helpful. There are 2 showers and 3 or 4 toilets on the ladies (similar for the men's I think). Showers cost 20p, but as far as I could work out, unless you get at 7am the chances of a warm one are minimal (there is one tank of hot water and once it's gone it's gone!). The toilets were never spotless, but they were reasonable and I certainly wasn't put off by them, as other people seem to have been (it was a flip-flops in the shower job though!). Oh and bring your own toilet roll! All in all, a nice site, reasonably priced, friendly, relaxed and adequate facilities for a weekend away.

I stumbled upon this Site when the other sites we usually use were fully booked. The man at the Site was really friendly on arrival and was happy to answer any questions we had and the shop was well stocked. As it was School Holidays the main Tent field was busy but we managed to get a flat pitch near to the static caravans. The facilities could maybe do with a little upgrade, but they were clean. The dish washing area would benefit from being a little bigger as queues started to form but that's camping for ya! I would definitely use this site again as it was great value for money and the views from the site were lovely and only 2 miles from Keswick. The only thing I would suggest is bring your own toilet rolls!

Been to Keswick before and stayed at Castlerigg Hall, no room there when we arrived so decided to try this site. Well, what a pleasant surprise. Their was a big group of us with children and a dog. Plenty of room to pitch and for children to play ball games. Views were spectacular and within close distance by car or by bus (bus stop located just outside site) into lovely Keswick. Owners are very nice people and go out of their way to chat to you each day whilst cutting grass, collecting litter or cleaning out the showers, they never stop working. Facilities are a bit basic and you have to be up early in order to catch a hot shower which there are two of for women and cost 20p but last for a sufficient amount of time. They have a small shop which sell all the basics however we tended to use the supermarket (Booths & Coop) in Keswick town. If you enjoy a beer outside the tent whilst children are playing, this is the place for you. We were not charged any extra for gazebo or the dog giving very good value for money. This is possibly the best site we have been on in the last two years as it felt as though this was a proper camping experience with old fashioned buildings, owners and shop. This is highly recommended if rugged camping floats your boat. Enjoy!

Fantastic views but I have to say the facilities were very poor, the toilets were dirty, and I mean dirty. It is such a shame because the scenery is out of this world. The owners were very pleasant however I did feel they were not that interested in keeping the facilities up to scratch. The toilets needed a good cleaning and sweeping, cobwebs every where and very old fashioned.
