A lovely site, well kept and with plenty of atmosphere. Loads to do around the area and also on site. We didn't use the club house as we found
Enough to watch around the site. One thing which suited us was you weren't expected to be in bed for 10. 30! Being all weather caravanners we like to sit out at night, have a beer and on some sites we can use our little cauldron to light a fire log. Great times. Will def return to this site

Arrived at the site in pouring rain but the pitches being hard standing and astro turf made life easier. Had to pay £20 deposit for toilet key and barrier pass only one per pitch so we had to plan our shower and toilet runs the toilet block was always clean and warm with plenty of hot water although the push button style could have done with a shower curtain to prevent your drying area being wet.
Saturday evening we went to the club which was lovely very welcoming and cheap bar prices. Played bingo won £45 bonus! Entertainment at about 9pm The club was open during the the week but with so much to do in the area we didn't go in again till Friday evening.
The sun shone for most of the week so visited Blackpool, Liverpool and Southport all well worth a visit. Plenty of supermarkets nearby small shop with basics on site. Would love to visit again if we were in the area.

Great site
Pitches are on concrete bases with an astro turf section to put your awning on so levelling the van is simple.
Can be tight manoeuvring onto the pitch as the gap in the middle isnt that wide especially for a twin axle but it is manageable with care.
All pitches are fully serviced even with a tv connector so saves searching for a signal.
Kids playground is great with everything they need.
Clubhouse was nice to go into but all children have to leave by 9pm.
Walkes along the canal where very enjoyable especially feeding the ducks.
If you have any problems with your van, The red Lion caravan centre is only quarter of a mile away and although small they stock everything you could want.
The site have some great mid week deals and special offers ie book two consecutive weekends and leave your van on the pitch during the week for free..
Reception also has a full list of entertainments through out the season, so something for everyone.
We will be going back.

Just returned from the party weekend. This site is perfect for everyone, it caters for families as well as adults. On the Friday night they had a children's entertainer on in the clubhouse she worked for hours entertaining the kids they all loved it.
Saturday night was a party night and they put on a band and made the club look like a party venue, it was a really good night.
We walked along the canal if you turn right out of the gate onto the canal and follow the path it leads you to a lovely pub with log fires.
The touring pitches are all service and the facilities are good. Only thing to bear in mind that it can be tight reversing your unit onto some of the pitches as there's not a lot of room in the middle.
Kids park is good and there's a dog walk on site, all in all this is a great site with friendly staff and residents, the shop sells all the basics and isnt too overpriced. There also a fast food van on site now which is ideal if you fancy something after a night out.
All in all I would recommend this site, even if your not into the clubhouse or bar its still worth going as its in a nice location and very well looked after site, its a credit to the owners.

Stayed on touring pitch no 30, fantastic site, pitches are all inclusive and are astro turf for the awning. Club and shop are excellent as are all the staff on site. site is next to the Leeds/Liverpool canal, fishing is great which is free. Easy to get to Southport and a very good town of Ormskirk. Will definitely be visiting again and again. All facilities are first class toilets and showers are top rate, launderette brilliant. People in statics are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Good entertainment in club.

Brilliant site – would strongly recommend!
We stayed on this site for our Easter holiday, 5 nights. We were a little apprehensive that the site night be a bit noisy as it had a club house and welcomed children – we tend to prefer adult only sites. It was actually one of the best we have stayed on.
Location – perfect along the canal bank with lovely walks to a nice country pub about 10 mins away or to the marina about half hour. Lots of wildlife with baby ducks and lambs. Close to a Tesco extra. 15 mins drive to Southport. Very convenient for sightseeing including Liverpool and Blackpool.
Toilets and showers were very clean with lots of free hot water.
Club house had some excellent entertainment with something different every night and even a singer Easter Monday afternoon. The club house itself was very up market, extremely tastefully decorated. Drinks were very reasonably priced.
Staff were very friendly an d helpful. We felt at home even thought we were only there a few days.
Pitches were fully serviced. If I had to find fault, difficult to do so, it would be that the pitches were a little close together. The other plus point more than made up for that.
Would not hesitate to recommend and will return

1st Time at this site where clearly the owners have spent a lot of money on development. Solid Concrete Bases with firm area of Astra Grass next to it. Toilets were clean as was the bar and club building. There was a fast food cabin next to the bar but it seems to open in the evening only. I cant say the entertainment was brilliant but the friendliness of the staff and residents made up for that. Well worth a visit.

First time on this site, found it through UK campsite. Very nice clean site. The touring pitches are all service with water and waste. The site has a bar and attached clubhouse with entertainment on most weekends. We were a little apprehensive about going into the bar on the Friday night with our 5 & 6 year olds as this site seems to have mainly statics and sited tourers so we were worried that we would stick out like a sore thumb! The bar and staff were all friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant, drinks prices very reasonable for a campsite, there were singers on both nights and were very good. The main clubhouse allows children under 12 in until 10.15, this didn't bother us as its late enough for our two and I think some of the acts are probably not suitable for younger kids?
The site was excellent value for money all round and is open nearly all year. The only negative I would say about the site is they don't serve food/takeaway, could do with either a small takeaway or even pub grub on site or a burger van, this would make this site perfect. We will definitely be returning to this site as its perfect for a quiet weekend.

Excellent site, excellent entertainment bar prices reasonable, staff helpful, lovely and clean everywhere on site, canal lovely to walk along and chat to people fishing. If you turn right as you walk through the gates to the canal about 5 mins walk at the bridge is a lovely pub who serve food.
Only one problem with the showers that I found was it flooded where you are meant to stand and get dry so I went into a toilet to do this, it may have been just that one shower though. The big radiator as you walk in the door was brill for me cos I'm always cold!
Will definitely be going back to this site and will be collecting the smiley faces in order to get a free weekend stay in the future.
