Stayed for two nights ,fantastic views but not a cheap site to stay on. But it was well worth it to us. Site was not busy when we went so facilities were not an issue but if site was full I would imagine there could be a wait for showers. As previous reviews there is charge for the showers but I will add as the 50p was inserted (this was outsite the cubicle) the shower started. Beware you might be fully clothed at this point and 5 mins is ticking down:-). To sum up, Stunning view, fantastic walks would return again & again.

Stayed here in September - the really horrendous weekend of rain storms! Was incredibly worried about the tent but it stayed up (we weren't too exposed). We were also one of the last tents they allowed on site due to drainage - didn't move the car for a day just in case! We didn't have any problems however (Management were assisting those that did however which was good to see).
Fantastic location - overlooking the beach and cliffs. Absolutely beautiful.
Walking distance to local shops (great quality and selection for small shops!) and there are 3 pubs (two up the road, the other across the beach and up the cliff stairs) all within walking distance. If you fancy splashing out St Moratz hotel is also within walking and I hear the restaurant is good (perhaps we'll try next time!).
Campsite itself is neat, with a variety of pitches / facilities available. We had a standard and it was fine. Facilities where clean and well organised (only marking them down due to the shower charge). Relatively small campsite (not sure how many pitches but no statics and I don't remember seeing a playground - but with the beach a 30second walk none is needed)!
However the site is very pricey - especially as showers are 50p as well. We went out of season and were still paying more than I would in season. That said for the location it's possibly worth it!

We stayed here a week in June and we thought it was a fantastic site!
We had a premier pitch and had a great view, and close to the facilities. Our pitch was pricey but well worth the money, and close to the beach.
The staff was very helpful and the facilities was always kept at a high standard although I could imagined they would be hectic during the peak season, hence the reason why we avoid school holidays!
Looking forward to returning next year!

Spent 6 nights here in June.
Great location next to the beach - accessible in less than 2 mins via a few rocks. This was our first visit to this area and we loved the area. Our eldest (4 yr) loved the beach.
The only downside was the pinickity campsite rules. You must pitch within your plot boundaries - or get told off by the management! I get the impression if they can charge you for it they will. Showers, washing powder, hair dryers. And I wouldn't like to be here in the height of summer as I expect it is jam-packed with not much space between pitches.
Having said all that, we loved it. Oh, it's quite pricey as well.

Great campsite and excellent location on the cliffs over-looking Polzeath and not too windy either and it's a really easy walk to the beach and the town. We went in the Easter school hols and the site was almost empty but I would imagine this site is packed in the summer. Having looked at the size of the pitch you are offered in the camping field (tents and caravans are separated), the tents are going to be pretty packed in! As written about before the showers are all coin operated (50p) but be quick the time quickly runs out and the coin slot is outside the shower. The main shower block has only 2 showers cubicles however there is another shower block at the end of the field (not open when we stayed). The cost I thought was quite high for April (£22.00). However you don't have to use your car for the beach car park which save £4.50 per day. There are two pubs just a short walk up the hill, which are OK for a quick beer, but my advice is jump in the car and find somewhere nicer!

We have stayed at this campsite many times over the years, yes it may be on the expensive side, when you compare it to the other campsites in the area (which are all more expensive than elsewhere in the country), its well worth paying the extra as once you are there everything is within easy walking distance therefore saving you at least a £5 a day on car parking! The facilities are nearly always spotless, even in peak season, I believe the cleaner does both the companies sites and starts work at 5.30am! - bless her, a last of a dying breed! The views speak for themselves, you can't better them and the beach is one of the best for surfing with plenty of life guard coverage. We have always found the staff to be more than helpful, they always seem to be on duty as there is only 1 or 2 of them. As long as you abide by the camp rules, which are quite strict, (but worth it as it keeps out the loud groups and undesirables), nothing is too much trouble for them. Our camper needed major repairs after arriving this year and the guy in reception (I think the manager) phoned around a number of garages to get us fixed. Although we had to be off site at the designated 10.30am (as our space was booked), he arranged a tow into the car park next door for which we weren't charged. We were also offered to stay on longer if needed as they had an emergency space by their house (which was very nice!) A lot of people give these guys a hard time, but they all work really long hours and deserve to be given a break! If you can afford it then I'd recommend it time and time again as its the best camping experience in polzeath. Once you get in with these guys, you have a space for life! Once at the site, polzeath has everything you need within easy walking distance once set up, so no need to brave the holiday traffic!, you can get most things you need within the village (at a premium), with a decent but busy tesco's in wadebridge. I'm sure we will be down again sometime in 2007! Can't wait!

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this site and despite excellent company, stunning views and proximity to the beach we felt ripped off. £20 per pitch per night is the most we have ever paid and we did not feel it was worth the money. We rang earlier in the week to book as there were 3 tents and 3 cars in our party. We were told that bookings were not taken and that groups were not accepted. Even after explaining that we were 3 couples and not a noisy bunch, we were told that we had to take our chances. Upon arrival we paid our dues and then we saw the sign that said words to the effect of 'No groups except by prior appointment'. Doesn't phoning count? The pitches are a good size and fairly flat; take storm breaks as it can get a little breezy up there! The showers and loos were clean enough, with no queues. No soap or hand drying facilities. The showers are 50p for around 5 minutes which is usually plenty. A good job, as the coin box is outside the shower itself and you can only insert one 50p at a time so plan your wash carefully! (At £20 a night you'd think that they wouldn't need to charge for showers.) We walked the coast path to Rock (around 2 miles; wear walking boots) and then a lovely little ferry to Padstow at only £3 return. Well worth a look. Re; Evening entertainment. Tried the Oystercatcher up the hill. Packed out with no chance of a table. Seemed family friendly though and the food looked good. Ended up eating in the next pub up the hill, Coasters(?). Food excellent if you aren't in a hurry! Seems to turn into a real teenagers/student pub later so leave early if you don't want to feel really, really old and aren't keen on loud music. Re; Taxis anywhere. Forget it. Unreliable if not non existent even if you book ahead. On our last morning, we were told that we had to vacate the site by 10.30am, which is a little early really. We were ready to go by 9.45am but thought we'd treat ourselves to brekkie in a nearby caff and so asked if we could keep the cars on site for another half hour. We were told that would not be possible as there were lots of people coming that day. How do they know that if we're not allowed to book? Ended up paying to park on the beach car park even though the pitch was ours for another 3/4 hour! Will not return; site, beach proximity and facilities acceptable. Management/staff attitude definitely was not.

This campsite has the most glorious sea views! It is located on a low-ish clifftop immediately to the side of the beach at Polzeath, with footpaths taking you straight down onto the sand, down into Polzeath itself or around the headland for a lovely clifftop walk with the dog. Additionally, wetsuits, surfboards etc can be hired from reception, which is handy. Its families aand couples only, so although it attracts a very surfy crowd it is not at all rowdy and seems to be very tightly run. When we stayed there, two of the three staff in Reception were very pleasant and helpful.
However, you do pay a high price for this fantastic location, maybe twice what you would pay at other sites (with better facilities) in the area. The pitches are tight, with a sliding scale of charges depending on what size pitch you use. Having said that, the pitch fees all include electric and quite large numbers of people - so they would be better value for a large family with EHU than three people without ie us! Again, bearing in mind the high cost of staying here the toilet and shower facilities are a bit skimpy. Plenty of space in the cubicles and they are kept clean but no soap or hand drying facilties provided by the basins at all. The showers are adjustable, with good pressure and temperature but you pay 50p a go, there are no stools provided and only one hook inside each shower stall. Good laundry facilities but the dishwashing is rather small and cramped. Departure time is 1030, which is a little on the early side.
Having said all of that, I would definitely stay here again. But probably out of high season when the charges are more reasonable. As I said at the beginning, the views and location are to die for!

This site leads onto the beach via a rocky descent or round via the path and through the beach car park. The pitches are somewhat cramped and you are definitely here for the beach - we have a motorhome and didn't move it for the four days we were here! I thought you would have been able to here the sea from the site but you can't as you are so high up - however you can see the sea and that is why this is such a popular site.
The site is really expensive - you can pay up to £30 or more for a pitch with elec and not much room. Facilities are fine except we kept getting power cuts and the showers at 50p just seemed like a rip off to me having spent so much in the first place. The Blue Tomato shop was shut the whole time we were there but the cafe was open - sophisticated food in there - no good if kids just like nuggets!
You can hire wet suits for a fiver a day and Polzeath is lovely - I am sure we will be back but it is for the location and nothing to do with the actual site itself!

We were soon won over by the place, well who couldnt be with such a great view of Polzeath beach? Almost all people staying there came for surfing and body-boarding. Come with wetsuits even in the height of summer. And fishing nets for the children in the many rockpools.
A very short walk to the beach and a few useful shops and takeaways in the local village.
Very popular - booked solid in August, I got the impression it was mostly repeat bookings for extended stays from families who enjoyed the water & beach.
