We have just got back from Riverside after a two night stay over the Whitsun bank holiday. Booked late so only room left in the overspill field. This area was very spacious and well patrolled by the warden. We had read previous reviews and found them really helpful as we knew what to expect. We stayed two nights instead of three due to weather but that is out of everyones control. There are no facilities in this area and it's a good 15 minute walk to the toilets, showers and rest of the facilities. The facilities available are good, the toilets and showers were clean. There is also a good sized dishwashing area. Onsite there is a chippie, (gets very busy) clubhouse and swimming pool. Asda is very closeby. We had a really good stay and would stay here again. The main site is very busy so we preferred it in the overspill field.

Just come back today from a two night stay at this campsite.
This is the first camping trip for the family and we weren't quite sure of what to expect.
We had checked the reviews of this site before hand and like one of the other reviews intailly we thought it was simliar to a travelling site as you approach the reception office, but then you see the field beyond.
After booking in and paying (£17.50 pn), we were shown to a couple of pitches by a friendly warden. One of the pitches was a little too roudy so I asked him for a quieter one and he said no problem and before we knew it we'd set up and were tucking in to our BBQ.
The only issue we had with this quieter spot was that it was about 5 mins walk to the bathrooms. Site could benifit from having toilets at the other end of the field. That said though, its NOT a negative comment but an objective note.
I have to say that we really enjoyed this visit and were quite sad to leave this morning.
The site has good showers with plenty of hot water, toilets and showers were clean. The site also has a swimming pool which was great for the kids and adults alike. Swimming pool and showers were all inc in the price. The site also has a lovely park for the little ones which looked well maintained.
The club house has a disco at night and proved to be very popular. Wardens are around regulary in the night and there is a 1am noise limit.
We took our Great Dane pup(pony)lol, we did check before hand if they would allow dogs on the site and you are but obiovously aggressive dogs and breeds are not welcome there, which I agree with, but Ive had Rotts in the past and ive come across more aggressive Yorkies and its my view its down to the knowlege of the owner of the dog regardless of the breed. Please check to ensure your ok.
Onsite chippie which makes real chips as to frozen :)lol.Ggggreat, the pub also adds to the appeal to this lovely camp site, We had a brill time !
Looking forward to going again.
Keep up the good work guys :)

Stayed here over Easter for 4 nights. When we arrived at the site I assumed we were on a gypsy camp instead of a campsite! But we had a great time. We were pitched on pitch 11, not too far from the main toilet block-which was always very clean, the showers had hot water every morning they did waver a little towards the afternoon with luke warm / cold water.
The indoor pool was fab, really warm with a slide for the kids, only drawback no changing rooms-you have to walk to the toilet block, showers and swimming pool were free. The evening entertainment was brilliant, Fri, Sat and Sun all had entertainment, Easter Sun had kids games in the club as the Easter egg hunt was called off due to the weather, Sun night had an Easter bonnet parade. No large arcade areas like in some camps just 1 or 2 machines. Big screen for the football, make sure you book a Sunday dinner-we didn't and could of kicked ourselves when we were surrounded by lamb and mint sauce on the Sunday with mashed potato, fresh veg and stuffing balls all for £4.95!
If your seeking a quiet camp this isn't for you,the curfew is 1am-any noise after this and you will be asked to leave-we didn't hear any though. Saying that we stayed in on the Thursday and were not disturbed by noise. There is a annual raft race on the River Tawe next to the site- we are definatly going to book for Aug bank hol n as we think we didn't see the best of the site because of the weather. Asda is 2 mins up the road. Chippy on site, clubhouse prices-lager £2.45, cider £2.55, bottles of alcopops £2.45, coffee 70p- loads of treats for the kids from 15p
Overall probably not a site for those seeking peace and quiet but brill for those who love abit of entertainment and a dance at night.

This was the first time to stay at this site. We stayed with a group of friends / relatives and had four tents altogether. Age range in our group 3-65yrs. The site was fully booked due to it being August Bank Holiday Weekend so we had to stay in the overspill fields. This turned out to be a much nicer field because the normal fields seemed very cramped with no run-around space for the kids. It was a long walk to the toilets/showers (so we bought buckets from the nearby Asda) It was also a very dark walk in the evening / night and not advisable to tempt on your own or let children go on their own. The toilets/showers were not very clean and there was no soap available to wash hands after going to the toilet, this did let the site down. The swimming pool was lovely and the kids loved the slide, jacuzzi was well used by the adults in the party, but there were no changing rooms! you had to use the toilet block which was outside the pool area. (Did not like changing into my cossie in a toilet cubicle.) also if you needed to pee you had to go outside to the toilet which would not be good in bad weather. We were lucky and had a heatwave. The playground was excellent and very good fish shop. Will consider returning for a weekend because it is not too far a drive from home.

We stayed here for the August Bank holiday weekend as everywhere else we phoned was full. We were told on the phone that we'd have to go in the overflow field, so expected to be at the back end of a camp site. However the overflow field is 10 minutes walk away from all facilities (including water & toilets). The road to the overflow field was unlit. If you look on a map, the overflow field is the other side of the M4 from the rest of the site (under 2 large bridges). The field itself was flat and there was plenty of room, just a shame the owners haven't built a toilet block there. The toilet blocks could do with more regular and thorough cleaning to compete with other campsites we've been to. There was shows on in the bar most nights, but it's not really big enough for the size of the site. The bar meals weren't the best, 12 of us ate and 1 enjoyed their food. The most common complaint was fatty meats being used. The more basic food in the chip shop though was very nice and and reasonably priced. You just have to wait a while, the queue took an easy 10 minutes at popular times. The swimming pool was good, with a friendly guard who was good with the kids. The pool itself was nice and warm and the pool area was clean. The only problem was there was no changing rooms, you either had to walk there in your swimming gear or get changed in the toilets. You need to be in a car to leave the site as it's straight off the M4 junction. There was an Asda five minutes away and Swansea is about 15 minutes from the site.

We visited this caravan park on two previous occasions and completely fell in love with the place. As a result a few of us went and stayed for three weeks. We've just arrived home but not for long as we've left our trailer tent and caravan pitched so that we can go back this weekend for the bank holiday. Can't wait this site offers everything you need to have a great weekend. There is a indoor heated swimming pool, chip shop , games room, shop, club house, adventure playground, a doggy walk, a fishing lake, heated toilet and shower blocks, launderette etc etc the site has every thing imaginable to insure you and your family have a great time whilst staying at riverside caravan park. If you need to shopping there is a Lidl which is a ten minute walk away and an Asda 10 minute drive away and also little town with shops like boots, peacocks, post office, indian, chinese, pizza, kebab takeaways. Which will of course deliver on site should you wish not to cook whilst being on holiday. Also there is swansea town centre on your door step should yo wish to go high street shopping and neally forgot about the fab mumble beach. As you can see what I have written gives you an insite as to where this campsite is positioned, it has absolutly everything so close by it's great hence the reason we love it so much. If you are thinking of staying at riverside caravan park be sure to book early as spaces get taken pretty quickly on site. But if your jolly campers like us they can offer you the overflow field which is on the same site but quite a trek if you have wheels not a problem. As this this field has no electric or water facilities but its cheap to stay on at £10 per unit and all facilities are free. This field is great for us as there's alway's a crowd of us who are quite noisey but never seem to bother fellow campers as its a big field and you can choose your plot. I think I've covered mostly everything I can think of to mind but if you do decide to go be sure to say hello to us you'll know who we are as we are big crowd of cardiffians ha ha I hope you enjoy your stay there almost as much as we do.

Stayed at riverside campsite in swansea in may 2007. As it was school holidays we were only meant to stay for long weekend instead stayed for 11 days it was that good. Stayed in overflow field. In all I think there were about 40 of us in all although not all them stayed for the 11 days. We used the swimming pool everyday we also used the clubhouse everyday and night too. The staff were really down to earth very friendly and helpful and fun my kind of people. Even the people staying at the campsite were extremely nice too must be down to the relaxed atmosphere. There was also a handy little shop on site, a games room, launderette, lots of showers, toilets, sinks to do your dishes with hot water always . We did bingo every night and stayed for the discos and artists which were brill. When we were ready to go back to camp we'd stop in the onsite chippy which was pleasantly cheap and have a late supper which was always yummy especially the chicken curry. Definitely going back again hopefully

Stayed in Riverside a few times and had a ball, indoor pool great, club house brill, chip shop good value for money. As well as being nice, we go in a big group: 11 of us aged 3-32. Toilets OK, kids playground good, shop is reasonable, most pitches have electric hook up and some big supermarkets not far away.

Very friendly campsite & I was very impressed with facilities. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful (& even helped start my car when my fridge had drained all the power in the battery - electric hook up next year!) The heated indoor pool, the riverside walk & the lake, feeding the ducks, the brilliant children's play area etc was fantastic for the kids. The clubhouse made it great for adults as well! The site is well situated for the Gower & Swansea & all its attractions, with all the major stores & fast food restaurants on the doorstep. Apart from someone foiling the toilets, which had already been cleaned & was not the campsites fault, the campsite was really clean, toilet blocks excellent, the pitches well laid out & we definitely will visit again.

We stayed here over the August bank holiday. The check in was quick, friendly and inviting. We left it late to book anywhere we have been before and found this caravan park on the internet. I phoned the site and was told they had no pitches available, but they had an overflow field with no electric water or facilites (toilets, showers etc). During our stay we used all facilities and found them all satisfactory considering it was the bank holiday and was very busy. The pool was at an adaquate temperature. The clubhouse had entertainment every evening that was suitable for my family. The toilet blocks had showers and was clean .
