We have just returned from this camp site and from a wonderful holiday in Jersey.
We booked through condor ferries and stopped in one of the ready erected tents. The place itself was great, beautiful beaches and friendly people. The camp site was well maintained and offered plenty for children to do. The facilities were really clean and I didn't need to queue once for the showers or toilets. There was a decent on site shop and a good bar which also offered food. (good nightly specials)
All in all, a great place for families to stay.

We have just come back from a week at the Beuvelande site in a pre-erected tent. We agree with the comments previously made, the tents are far too close together, we measured approximately nine feet in between tents and those facing yous. Problems arose with a noisy group behind us who even lit an open fire. The Travelsmith Rep did speak to the occupants and whilst there was still less noise after the 11.00pm curfew this was still noticeable.
The toilets are cleaned but could do with better ventilation and some of the mens showers had no seats and no dry area to dress could do with shower curtains to separate wet and dry areas. You also have to go through the bar area in order to use the toilets. There are lots of sinks for washing up - but you are nearly out of the campsite before you get to them no fun when carrying all the washing up!
Nevertheless, Jersey is a lovely island, the people are friendly and helpful and there is a speed limit of 40mph maximum. Although we would not return to this site, we would definitely return to Jersey with its outstanding beaches and coastline and if you are into World War II history its a must. We could not find any major supermarkets, there is a local supermarket in St Martins but we found this very expensive. A better bet is the Co-Op Locale on the A6 towards St Helier. However, the bar on the site is reasonably priced. There is lots of free parking but when you do have to pay it is very reasonable in comparison to the UK - buy the book of 10 scratchcards for £5.80 1 Unit per hour.

This is a well run campsite, the toilets and showers, washing areas are all exceptionally clean. The main points to look out for, firstly are as follows. The bar on site is adequate but expensive, ie £8.50 for a bottle of red wine, £3.00 for a tin of guinness,(I would point out that you can buy your drinks from down the road at five ways at great prices from an off licence bottle of wine £3.75). There is also a supermarket which has a good stock of provisions) the telephone on site is expensive to use ( my experience is the owner can set how much time you are getting for your money use a kiosk outside the camp). You will need a fridge which the owner supplies for £20.00 per week also required will be an electric extension lead. £20.00 for 2 weeks. If you want to be able to use a hairdryer or charge your mobile, or childrens electronic games. The tents are too close together compared to other sites.
Having pointed out the above we did have a great time at the site the owner does provide entertainment on site ie bingo, live bands and karaoke, the food served up is adequate and the pool was great for our 2 children, they used the play area frequently.
The site is great for touring the island, there are lots of things to see and do whatever the weather. The bays and coastline are fantastic lots of quiet bays like Portelet Bay, or if you prefer St Brelades bay is a little busier. The National Trust sites are worth a visit look out for them as is the german underground hospital, the local people are very friendly and dont mind talking about this great island. Its a great place for a family holiday and good value for money, as with any holiday compare prices for food and drinks. You wont be dissapointed bearing in mind my tips.

We have just returned from a 10 day holiday booked through Condor Holidays (the ferry people).
We camp quite a bit, and apart from one Eurocamp holiday in France we always stay in our own tent and generally on Camping & Caravanning Club sites in the UK. This time, we decided to stay in a pre-erected tent so that we had more space and less to take with us.
We arrived approx 9pm and there was a bit of confusion as the Condor holidays are booked with Travelsmith and not with the campsite owners and so we had to hunt for the Travelsmith Rep. Once found, he showed us to the tent. However, you cannot park next to the Travelsmith tents and so we had to drag our bags, sleeping bags etc along a dark row of tents (with 3 small, tired children) and through a large group of slightly-drunk fellow campers. Not a nice way to start the holiday.
The tents inside are great and the equipment is good. However, the Travelsmith/Condor tents are SO close together that it is really oppressive. I would guess that they were only 3-4m apart in each direction - so not only are you too close to the tent next to you, you are also far too close to the tent opposite.
This close proximity to other campers took the edge off the break for us although the rest of the site was very good and just as others have reported - good shop, good bar/cafe, good pool, decent toilets (though not enough in the gents for the number of pitches). Position is also very good and close to nearby beaches etc.
So, overall, a good site with very good facilities spoiled by having these tents far too close together and not being able to park your car nearby. We looked at the site's own pre-erected tents (and the fields for normal campers) and these looked much better, so perhaps best not booked through Condor although our price was very good as it included the fast ferry from Poole.

Two great weeks of family friendly fun!
We stayed in a pre-erected tent at Beuvelande having flown in, travelling light, and didn't know what to expect of it. On arrival, we were shown to our tent, a new Cabanon frame tent sleeping 4-5 with loads of living space. The tent was impressive, and survived a monumental 24hr deluge with ease! With it came all the cooking equipment and crockery/cutlery we needed, plus gas and fridge (on hookup), table & chairs. It wasn't cheap but you get a lot for the money.
This is a big site but didn't feel crowded, as it's well laid out, and has a huge games field and play area. The pool is suitable for kids (1.1m deep)and our 8 yr old loved it, but a few adults used it for a bracing wake-up swim.
The facilities are good, comprehensive, modern and clean although you have to walk past the open-air restaurant seating to get there - a fact that troubled some of the more sensitive campers!
I would endorse the views of the other reviewers on the entertainment - quirky is the word! But disturbance to families is minimal even before the 11pm shut-down. Restaurant food on site varied but was generally good, and great value, cooked by a hard-working staff. The staff are nice and helpful, but clearly busy.
There are beaches within 1-2 miles down the lanes and St Martins village (20 min walk)has a store and pub (The Royal - busy, food ok) with efficiant buses to St Helier and thence the rest of the island.
I have to take issue with the previous comments about the Durrell Zoo. It looks after endangered species and aims to educate, their animals are amazing and very well housed and cared for. Don't miss it and don't miss the talks they do.
Gorey Castle and Plemont Bay are other unmissables, as is a little bistro in St Aubin's above a gallery behind the chandlery - unbelievably good food run by a smashing bloke.

We have just returned from a week's stay at the Beuvelande Camp Site in Jersey. Although we do have our own tent, this time we hired one of their static tents. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there - check in was easy and our tent was ready ahead of schedule (which was good as it began to pour with rain at that precise moment!) The tent was extremely clean, well stocked with equipment and very comfortable. Toilets and showers were immaculate, despite it being peak season, I never once found the showers to be anything less than spotless. All the staff at the site were very friendly and helpful and the on site restaurant offered both breakfast and evening meals which were very good value and varied - we found ourselves eating there most evenings! My younger son enjoyed the playpark - although both of my boys found the swimming pool to be too cold! Other, more hardy children, were however happily playing in it from as early as 8.30 am! The site had a real family feel to it and were strict about 11.00 pm curfew for noise. We did notice aeroplane noise from about 5.00 am onwards, but due to the size of Jersey, I expect you could probably hear that no matter where you stayed!
Jersey itself is a beautiful island, the people there are very friendly, happy to chat and clearly proud of their island. The tides can be a bit difficult being either fully in with no beach left to sit on, or miles out so a bit of a treck with the bucket and spade! Beware of the roads! They are very narrow, with lots of hidden entrances - be prepared to back up regularly. If you like history, then I would recommend buying the tourist weekly pass that gives you unlimited access to all six of the Jersey History sites - we found this to be really good value and visited several of the sites more than once to catch different 'living history' demonstrations going on. Make sure that you see the 'parade demonstration' at 12.00 pm at Elizabeth Castle - not to be missed! Our top three sites, were Elizabeth Castle, Mount Orgueil Castle and the Maritime Museum (great hands on experiments for the children). Jersey War Tunnels were exceptional and voted top attraction by my two boys (10 & 12 years old). Basically, we loved it!

We visited this site in July/August. We (Being three caravans) usually head to France but decided to try Jersey this year. What a mistake!
Don't get me wrong, Jersey is a beautifual place but boring!
We arrived at the Ferry Terminal after a 10 hour crossing, twice as long as France. We were met by a chap that worked on the site who escorted us right to our pitch. The pitches are not really pitches they're fields that are separated by hedges but that's it. We were put in the bottom field, furthest away from the toilets and showers. This is one criticism which I think the owners should address. The facilities although always spotlessly clean were right at the top near the entrance. It was bad enough for us in caravans but the poor souls who were in tents and in the bottom field, well I don't know what they did if they got caught short in the middle of the night, it was quite a hike, and not very well lit.
The site itself was adequate, lovely and clean, the shop stocked all your day to day essentials. The pool was very small for the size of the site and the slide, well my grandson has got bigger in the back garden. The playground was large but not a lot on it. The restaurant was very good value for money, we ate in there quite a few times. The breakfasts are to die for, set you up for the day, but, you get Jersey Royal potatoes with everything, yes, even your breakfast! There is some form of entertainment on in the bar almost every night, be it karaoke, a quiz, a singer, cash bingo, but the best was the horse racing, the kids loved it, very funny. Won't spoil it for you but well worth a look. Everything was finished for 11 though and after that that was it. Everywhere was very quiet. We heard of one family and actually seen one family get evicted off the site for noise at night. So if it's an early night you want, this is the place.
The Royal Pub, on the 'main' road is also a good place to eat but be warned you have to get there early, it's very popular with the locals also. Down the road at Fiveways, there is an off license, pub, petrol station, hole in the wall, and supermarket. In my opinion though, the supermarkets in Jersey are very expensive.
St Helier is just a short drive away with the only dual carriageway on the island. There are shops here, mainly jewellers, but could only take up an afternoon of your time. There are some lovely coves to drive to but once you've seen them that's it. Jersey Zoo, or The Durrell Wildlife Centre as it's now called is far too expensive for what it is. Don't go expecting elephants, tigers, monkeys etc, you won't see them. Our children went to the indoor swimming complex in St Helier one day only to find that the water flumes weren't working and that was in August.
All in all, wouldn't tell people to visit this site but wouldn't tell them not to, it just depends what you want. As for Jersey itself, if you like pictureque views and early nights and love walking this may appeal to you. As for us, may go back in a few years, but only for a long weekend and stay in St Helier. France here we come.

We have just returned from this camp site an from a wonderful holiday in Jersey. The place itself was great, beautiful beaches and friendly people. The camp site was well maintained and offered plenty for children to do. It is a family site and as such you should be aware of the mass of children. As a couple this didn't really suit us, but for a family it would be excellent. The facilities were clean and I didn't queue once for the showers. The on site shop was handy as was the bar. All in all, a great place to stay. Just bear in mind the 'family' friendly atmosphere if you want a break without children.

This was our first camping trip with the tent. This is a short review of our local site - clean, spotless, made to feel very welcome. Shop, pool, games room, bar restaurant, play ground, football pitch. Its just 3 miles from our house in Jersey but our children think they hundreds of miles away and so do their mam and dad!

Our first trip to Jersey and we had 3 wonderful weeks at this site. Loads of space. Excellent football pitch & childrens park. Pool small & shallow but clean. Bar / restaurant okay, staff VERY friendly. Showers / toilets spotless & modern. Fantastic pub (the Royal) 15 mins walk, with excellent food. Bus stop across from pub. Once youve got the bus routes sussed its really easy to get anywhere on the island. Only downside was the grass cutter people. They came far too close to tents & caravans and we saw a couple of separate incidents where a guy rope and a dog bowl were damaged. We would definitely go back in a few years. Jersey is a lovely island.
