We had a fantastic week at Glenearly Caravan Park. Access is straightforward from the main road and as you enter you can see the lake currently under construction. We were greeted by Maureen who was so helpful and we were on our pitch within minutes setting up. Plenty of water taps on the site and the whole site is well looked after,
The washrooms are immaculate and there is also an area to wash the dishes with washing machines and a tumble drier. There is also a daily supply of eggs in the dish-washing room with an honesty box for payment. The site also has some toiletries in case you leave anything at home.
The pitches are ample in size and room for the car at the side. The pitches are level which is down to good planning in an area where several sites have steep pitches.
There is a family room on site which has games and plenty of information leaflets on where to visit.
The site has a lot of seasonals too which meant that it was very quiet Monday – Friday with only two other caravans occupied.
Gleanearly is a great base to visit the area and we had some lovely days out and we will definitely visit Glenearly again. We came across the site here after staying the previous two years at Kippford. The owner at Kippford is no longer taking pre-bookings so we had to look around and thankfully we found Glenearly.
The whole site and experience offered by Glenearly is a credit to everyone at the site. We will return and hope anyone who reads this pays them a visit too.

This is a fabulous site.
The staff are so friendly and helpful.
The toilet block is the cleanest one I have ever encountered. There are also toiletries in case you have forgotten yours.
There is a large playroom for children with a very well stocked library and loads of leaflets with things to do around the area.
The ground is fairly level with grass and hard standing pitches.
It is about a 15 - 20 minute walk into Dalbeattie. Plenty shops etc here.

Glenearly is a very friendly site which is immaculately kept and very peaceful.
The well heated toilet block is spotless with lots of hot water for the showers and what a nice touch having toiletries for the use of guests.
There is a games room which has a pool table, table tennis and also has a big library of books and jigsaws, undoubtedly a boon for families if the weather closes in.
The dog walk is an interesting path through the woods behind the site and it is well kept with benches for owners to have a rest.
The motorhome service point is at the site entrance and completely accessible without the awkward manoeuvres we've encountered on some sites
On arrival we were given lots of information about the local area. From the site it is an easy level walk into Dalbeattie where there is a reasonable selection of shops.
In the fields adjacent to the site there is to be a fishing lake and wildlife pond ready for 2015.
Overall impression is of a well run site designed around what motorhomers need and want from a site.
We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back.

Stayed for one night with my husband, 12 year son and dog.
Very friendly lady on phone when booking and equally friendly and efficient when booking in.
All Facilities very tidy, clean and efficient, even had toiletries in shower block you could use.
Very comprehensive local information guide given to us.
Didn't eat in local town but saw there were a few pubs which did food.
Quiet relaxing site with countryside views.
Dog walk on site through woodland at back of lodges and static caravans.
Would definitely return to visit local area.

We visited this site as its ideally located for Dalbeattie and we weren't disappointed. First impressions very positive and accord with other observations. Very friendly owners, spotless shower block and very well cared for grounds and pitches; there's even a 'games shed' for kids. (Although the area has little else to keep young family members entertained. ) The town is a 20 minute walk away and has a couple of very good restaurants as well as several pubs and some excellent local shops such as award winning butchers! All in all a well located and very well kept site for touring the Dunfries and Galloway.

The site is lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful. On arrival we were given a booklet of information of events in the surrounding area. There is also a games room with plenty of leaflets on places to visit and things to do.
The toilet block was spotless with loads of hot water. A nice touch to have toiletries free of charge if you have forgotten anything.
The pitches are hard standing with grass for sun chairs etc. We were on a corner pitch which had a really large grassed area at the back of the caravan and awning and also at the side too. My little dog loved it!
A lovely dog walking area too.
We would definitely return.

Our first campsite stopover for our trip to Scotland and will be a hard act to follow! This is a lovely site. The staff are helpful and friendly. The pitches are spacious and only slightly uneven, not a problem at all, with your own grassed area. There is a games room with lots of leaflets on places to visit in the area.
There is a lovely laundry/dishwashing area which is very reasonable priced, just £2 for a wash and a £1 for 45 minutes in the dryer!
The showers are free and no push buttons! Those and the toilets are spotlessly clean and if you have forgotten anything it is there for you to use free of charge, shower stuff, toothpaste etc.
Shops within easy walking distance of the site and takeaways if needed.
We will definitely visit again.

This is a lovely quiet site. We were sited in the pitch nearest the toilet block which was not a problem and actually quite handy.
The welcome was pleasant and we were given a brochure of information of events and activities in the surrounding area.
The toilet block was very clean and had sufficient showers and toilets for the pitches available.
Much of the park comprises static caravans and these are extremely well cared for. The drive up to the park is lovely and the daffodils were in full bloom when we were there.
It is about a 20 minute walk into town which was great for us to be able to leave the motorhome on site.
We enjoyed our stay and are sure we'd go back again.

Nice quiet, value for money site with the touring area taken up mostly with seasonal units. Toilet/showers always clean, (complimentary toiletries are a nice touch), as was dishwash area. Wardens helpful. There is a building housing a games room which we didn't use so can't comment. Site is central for visiting Dumfries, Castle Douglas and Rockcliffe. Pitches fairly level and spacious. Adjacent field has friendly horse and donkeys who like carrots! An honesty box in the laundry room for fresh hen and duck eggs. Nice meal at Kings Arms.

Excellent site with modern, super clean free facilities. Large toilet and shower block with hair dryer and facility to plug in your own dryer (a real bonus for me as our caravan is quite small and I like to use my own dryer) also supplied various toiletries which I made use of and then bought some to replace.
There was a large barn with kids facilities that I am sure goes down very well with families (a real bonus in bad weather)this also had a table with books to loan and information about the area which we took advantage of. Didn't use the laundry but looked very well laid out with modern machines. We did however take advantage of the fresh laid duck and hens eggs that were left in the laundry daily with an honesty box, first time I have tried duck eggs but they were beautiful.
We used the hard standing with EHU and TV ariel which was another bonus as quite often we struggle to get a signal with our caravan Ariel.
The owners of the site were away the first 2 days of our visit but we were very well looked after by the people left in charge, on the owners return we found them to be extremely hospitable and very personable (nothing too much trouble). Our dog was very much welcomed and the dog walking area excellent.
As for the surrounding area we couldn't have asked for better. The local town was a nice 10 minute walk in the morning and had every shop you could need along with some excellent butchers (not something we see at home these days).
We ate at the Kings Arms and Luigi's both served excellent food and were very welcoming. We do a lot of walking and found some excellent walks within short car rides from the caravan park, in fact we only touched on the area in our week and will definitely be back to this site to discover more of the area.
Well done Fred and Debbie you have a site to be proud of in a fabulous area.
