This is one fantastic site. Pitches are hard standing with a lovely lawned area for tables and sun chairs etc. The toilets are immaculate and I didn't need to queue at all and used them every day. The owners are really helpful. There is a supply of free range eggs every morning which were lovely, a kitchen for washing pots and a lauderette with rotary drying area. There is a huge children's room on site with all kinds of games, pool table and books etc. A walk of a mile brings you into the lovely village of Dalbeattie where there are many shops and lovely bakers. The Crown does excellent food!. The butchers in the village are great (3 in total) so BBQ most evenings throughout the week. The coastal walk from Rockliffe to Sandy Hills is a must and you can get the island in also when the tide is out. Rockcliffe to Castle Point also a great walk. For the more energetic try the Grey Mares Tail (Moffat) Wow its well worth the view from the top. Great views, excellent walks, good shops and therefore excellent food. Had one great week and cant wait to go back.

Went from Byreside caravan site in Northumberland to this one. It was a spur of the moment thing and we had never before been to this district. It was a very quiet area but worth a visit. We were welcomed at the camp site even though we just turned up and the warden was pleasant and helpful. It was a lovely site and it was the little things that made the difference. In the ladies, were all the things you may have forgotten to pack, hair spray, etc. By the laundry was two rotary washing lines and pegs to use. Even washing up liquid if you forgot yours. (The times hubby been back to fetch it) The facilities, clean and well maintained and the site too. Well done.

Just returned from Glenearly with our 2 kids, lovely secluded site, WC/showers spotless (lovely touch of having selection of toiletries in case you forgot anything), hairdryer & hand-dryer, laundry room, fresh eggs when available(be early) Very quiet as midweek.
Mostly hardstanding pitches but tents far end next to playpark & field with donkeys, ponies & sheep.
Staff very helpful (our heater broke & son got locked in loo) Games room has table tennis, pool, games machines, board games & books to swap/buy
Not great reception for mobile but payphone on site if necessary
Not far to Dalbeattie with all shops you'd need, restaurants & pubs etc

What a fantastic site. My wife and myself paid a visit to this site by chance as we were on our way to Hexham to see friends. We arrived part of the first week in may this year. Had a great welcome from staff great games room for everybody. Excellent toilets and showers all spotless. Had a nice walk into Dalbeattie. People very friendly in the shops we went into. Also had a very nice park and a nice size parking space near the town. All in all a great place to visit.S hall we be back we certainly will. You will not be disappointed.

I had been looking over a few campsites in the area and stuck with Glenearly from the good reviews.
The site is very well kept. I was only taking my 9yr old away for a nights camping to see how he enjoyed it, we didn't book and on arrival got a friendly greeting and shown where we could pitch.
We were the only tent on the site which was great as there are not many tent pitches. The tent pitches are right next to the children's play area which was superb.
You are well away from the road and I struggled to hear any traffic.
You are only a short walk from Dalbeattie but it started raining so we drove in and got fish and chips for supper. There's plenty of takeaways to choose from or sit in restaurants/pubs if you want too.
When we got back we made use of the superb games room due to the bad weather, Pool table, Table football, table tennis and a few games machines, there were also bundles of board games available to play and a stereo.
In the morning we used the very clean toilet/shower block and to be honest I wished we were staying longer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our very short stay and will definitely be back. My wife will be taking our 3 boys along with our neighbour and her kids for a weekend there in a couple of weeks after hearing my rave reviews of such a lovely site.

This is a very good site with excellent facilities and friendly staff. The shower blocks are warm, clean and spacious and there was a large recreation barn with table tennis, pool and table football. The site was pretty full, but quiet and peaceful all the same. The location of the site was ideal, being just a short walk from the town of Dalbeattie, with its range of shops, pubs and take-aways. There is also easy access to spots on the Solway Coast and lots of Forestry Commission land, both of which are worth exploration. A great little site. Highly recommended.

June 2005 Very clean shower block & WC. Made very welcome. This site is just a short walk from Dalbeattie, it was very quiet whilst we were there, that's the beauty of going mid-week. a lot of seasonal 'vans & Statics.A lovely site, nice people & a great area.
