Went here for the weekend. The site is on the River Devon. The river side is for hookups. Some static's there. Showers / toilet (2 of them)block is clean. You have to pay 20p for a hot shower!.
Tent area is away from the river. It is flat. No playground area for kids. Dollar is 20mins walk where there is a co-op. There is a field with Highland Coo's in it next to the tent area.
We had a quite weekend. There is fishing on the river, but the kids use it to swim. Across the road there is a path along the river and talking to one fisherman you can get a permit for the day £8.00

I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, but I needn't have!
It is such a relaxing site next to the river devon, with a weir about three quarters of the way up the park. The fishing was pretty good too.
I was informed that new owners had taken over towards the end of last year and it is obvious they are spending money on turning it around. They have installed new electrics, sorted the showers and the dishwashing area to leave a constant supply of hot water.
There is a way to go yet, but I'm sure with the effort the owners are putting in, it won't be long before it a 'a' class site.
I'll will certainly be returning for that relaxing break.

When booking in I was informed that the site had been taken over by new owners that week and I sincerely hope they invest some much needed capital.
As stated in other reviews there was no hot water in the washup area and one complete toilet block was out of action. The other toilet block was reminiscent of something out of the 1940's and spiders webs abound! The cleaner needs to look BEHIND the cubicle doors and they will find all manner of interesting wildlife flourishing there beside the pieces of long discarded toilet roll.
The site is ideally placed for visiting numerous places of interest in the area and I will be viewing this website for evidence that the park has been revamped. When/if it has been improved then it will offer a great facility in this area of Scotland.
Due to the uneven pitch surface, when trying to leave the site I found my caravan had settled into a hollow and I had great difficulty in getting out.

Site was on the whole a great site, peaceful and tranquil. Fishing was good, but it was a bit of a set back to pay 20p for a short shower, on top of site fees. No hot water for dishes.
Dollar was a short distance away, complete with shops, pubs, takeaways and many other tourist attractions. Sterling Mills was a nice short distance from site.

This site was perfect for us, after being told from a multitude of other campsites that all male groups were not allowed.
We got there and were welcomed straight away and shown where to pitch up. The ground was well kept for pitches and the toilets were clean and stocked.
We would definitely recommend this site if your looking for a night away with the lads.

I agree with everything already written. There was no hot water to washing up area (which was full of leaves anyway) which did make things a bit awkward being in a tent with two kids. Also no play area for the kids on the site.
On a more positive note the site felt safe and we were happy to let the kids run around in the camping ground (ages 3 and 5) as they can be seen easily. The camping area is quite spacious with a few picnic tables on site and well away from the vans. Was quite quiet as well even though main road was nearby.
Nearby Dollar has everything that you need with a small supermarket and various cafes and take aways should you desire. Lovely walks along the river accessible from the campsite. Fot the fishermen of which I am a very keen one, there are trout in the river but mainly very small.

Camping area situated very close to road, and owners seemed uninterested. The town of Dollar was quite close, and has a wonderful trek up Dollar glen to offer.
We did not use any of the facilities provided by the owners, and when we went in late May, there were only two other tents pitched, but with room for plenty more.
Despite the above, we did enjoy our stay at this site, and would recommend for an overnight stay.

Came as part of the UKCS meet.
Handy site for a weekend, but poorly maintained, few facilities, poor drainage, and owner did not uphold previously agreed price for our group.
Friends I had made at the meet were very grateful for a kettle of hot water as they washed their plates in the toilets - this says a lot. (It was raining, no cover over washing up area, and a slim chance of hot water in the toilets - no hot water at all to the washing up sinks).
Other than all that, this could be a very nice site, lovely location.

We found this small site ideal for my son who enjoys fishing and used it lots in 2006. It was also not too far for us to travel if only going for weekend. The toilets were kept clean but if you have a spider fobia they are full of them. Also no hot water to wash the dishes etc. However when I tried to book this year they now don't allow tents with electric hook up, why I don't know.
