June 2004 We spent 10 excellent days at this site. The pitches are well spaced out and protected by the trees. The toilet and shower facilities are basic but clean, there are 2 toilets and one shower which we at first thought may be a problem but didn't turn out to be and no matter how many people went in before you the water was always hot. The site owner was friendly and extremely laid back he was adding more equiptment to the childrens play area whilst we were there and didn't seem to mind the children trying to help him. Would definately recommend this site!

July 2003 This place is lovely! Really small and cosy and the perfect place for peace and quiet! There are 12 well spaced marked pitches and the site is surrounded by trees so it’s sheltered from the wind but still sunny. Facilities are good – free hot water and showers with hair dryers, iron, washing machine and tumble dryer. You also have free use of a fridge-freezer and a microwave and because the place is so quiet you can be confident about still finding your beers in the fridge when you get back! There’s a children’s playground on site and away from the tent pitches so you’re unlikely to be disturbed by energetic kids. Helston is only 2.5 miles away, but you can’t actually walk there as there are no footpaths next to the main road. Porthleven is about 2.5miles in the other direction but again you can’t walk there. Helston has 2 supermarkets, loads of takeaways, pubs and a few restaurants and Porthleven has nice harbour side pubs and restaurants. There is a small shop about half a mile away from the campsite and a couple of pubs within walking distance along country footpaths. This place was so perfect thought that we didn’t really need to eat or drink out! We had 7 great nights there and I haven’t had so many good nights’ sleep in ages! Fab! Can't wait to go back!

July 2003 Initially we found it difficult to find this small site as directions given by owner were very sparse. For those thinking of trying this site look out for the petrol Station on right handside just out of Helston on the main penzance road. You want the right hand turning immediately before it. Keep your eye's open for a very small local shop on left handside (shop is closest to site and is in a shed!)You want the next turning on the left and poldown is 1/2 mile down road on right handside.
The site itself is small (3 acres) with room for 15 tents/tourers in a well kept and secluded area. Pitches were numbered and most had small conifers planted to mark out each pitch. Most pitches had electric hook up for those who wanted it. Pre booking is advisable and can be done online via the sites website as it seems they have regular returning visitors. Late arrival was not a problem as the owner pins a list of pitches and where you are placed. They were quite willing for us to pay next morning once we'd surfaced.
The site amenities are central with male and female toilets (2 in each) and a shower with plentiful free hot water for each sex. hair dryer provided in each toilet at cost of 20p. Toilets were kept clean and tidy each day with fresh loo roll and towel in each. The female toilet also contains a mobile baby changing table. There is a laundry area - washing machine/tumble drier using 50p's, washing up area with free use of fridge/freezer and microwave for tenters. Drying space is provided behind laundry/toilet block as well as CDP and several bins to recycle and dispose of any waste. These were emptied regularly during our stay.
The owners have provided a small wooden information hut containing various information leaflets on things to do, local attractions etc as well as magazines and a few paperbacks that can be borrowed and returned. A table tennis and plastic box containing bats and pingpong balls is also sited in the small central grass area to be used by older children/adults whilst a childrens play area is provided at the top end of site in front of several statics Caravans for hire for those too small to play. There is a small pathway leading to lanes behind the site to walk/exercise dogs. The main lane in front of the site is not suitable for walking dogs as there are no paths and cars seem to use it frequently although this is not evident when on site as it is well screened off from the road by mature trees.
If you are looking for a small quiet site to tour from this site is definitely one to try out. The owners are friendly and helpful and have obviously spent time on tending the site. This site is approx 10 miles from most major attractions in all directions and is definitely one we will return to.
The site is not within walking distance of a pub so take your own beverages.
prices qoted are for 2 Adults + tent/tourer/van on a pitch.(Electric, dogs extra) For the week 5th July to 12th July 2003 it was £8 per night + 50p total for our two dogs, no elec. hookup. An upto date tarriff is posted on their website and they seem very reasonably priced.
