Oddball site with six touring pitches set on raised plinth set in the centre of a mainly very cramped static holiday caravan site/park. A second area is allocated for touring caravans, and area for tents.
The site does have direct access to Hopemans West beach and East beach is a couple of minutes’ walk from the site. The sand is fine and blond, with plenty of coves and rock pools to explore.
The site has two quirky (modernised and still dated!) but clean toilet blocks and showers are by coin operated metres (40p for a shower). Outside washing up area providing lukewarm water, not much fun with prevailing cold sea winds!
Hopeman harbour is located outside the site entrance and the coastal pathway runs both East & West from site.
Hopeman village has a store, butchers, café, post office, fish and chip shop, and Chinese take away.
Not the best of sites, but this is compensated with the access to lovely quiet sandy beaches and exposed coastal walks.

Fantastic location, superb views of the Caithness coast across Moray Firth. Only a few paces to a sandy shore. Excellent for walking, cycling and dog walking. Good local shops, takeaways amd pub all within a few minutes walk from the site.
Toilets and facilities ok although I do object to to having to pay 40p for a shower when I've already paid quite high site fees.
The biggest negative for me though is the packing density for tourers. I've never been packed in so close unit-to-unit. Spoilt it a bit for us as everything else was so good.

This was our fourth visit to Station Caravan Park. We have visited a number of other sites in the area but always return to this one for its beach location, well kept park, and local amenities. There are two areas for tents.
One in a walled garden which gives great protection from the wind, and the other, at the top field behind about 3 or 4 rows of caravans. On this occasion we were put in the top field as the walled garden was full of caravans. In fact, we were the only tent on the whole site! My advice would be if you need the protection of the walled garden then book well in advance.
The owners give you a warm and friendly welcome on arrival, and once you have paid you are escorted to your pitch. The facilities are very good for campers, as they now provide a tall fridge/freezer in the hut which is really handy.
The hut also provides books to borrow, leaflets on the surrounding area, as well as buckets, spades and bandy nets and even a couple of boogie boards for the kids. They have also just recently installed highland Wi-Fi which is available to purchase from reception. (We didn’t use it, so can’t comment on price or reception. )
There are two toilet blocks; both cleaned regularly so no complaints there. (You are given a toilet key on arrival) The one nearest the top field has private cubicles for sinks. The other nearest the walled garden doesn’t, but it has three showers. (I’ve never had to queue for a shower yet. )
It’s not the cheapest site I’ve ever been to. I think we were charged just over £24 per night. This was their low season rate for a large tent with EHU. But you get what you pay for so I won’t complain.
The village itself has a decent sized Costcutter, a Chemist, a small Newsagent, a Garage, a Chip Shop, a Chinese take away and the amazing Meiles local ice cream shop. My kids love experimenting with their bizarre flavours such as Irn Bru!
These are all within 5 minutes walking distance from the site. The local park is directly across the road, and has a nice range of equipment for all ages. It even has a skate park at the far end.
The beach is beautiful. Walk East, past the lovely beach huts for about 45 minutes and you come to the most amazing caves. Walk West along the old railway line and you’ll come to Burghead. I’d recommend a visit to “The Bothy” where I ate the most amazing fish that I have ever tasted!
The pool in nearby Elgin is nice. Check out their timetable as they have fun sessions during the holidays with a large inflatable. We visited Brodie Castle which was running the Cadburys Easter Egg Trails the weekend we were there.
Well worth a visit. We also went to Brodie Country Fair for a browse around their lovely home wear and a hot chocolate in the cafe, very nice indeed. We’ll be back in mid July when they run Hopeman Gala Week.
Loads of great activities each day to keep the kids entertained!

Highly recommended site. Run by a very friendly husband & wife team. The site is primarily given over to static caravans but the positive side of that is that the toilets & showers are never crowded.
The site is alongside a beautiful sandy beach and small working harbour.
The small town of Hopeman is charming without being 'twee' or touristy and has most of the services you need eg small supermarket, pharmacy, garage, butchers and post office/general stores.
There's even a Chinese take-away that we can highly recommend.
The coast along the Moray Firth is wild and quite spectacular - well worth visiting.

Great campsite, we were located at the walled area which was great for cooking.
The wardens were very friendly and helpful.
The toilet blocks were always spotless.
The shower cost 40p for approx 7mins.
The beach is good for seeing dolphins, we stayed 2 nights and seen them the first night.
It is a peaceful village with few shops such as chippy, newsagent and cost cutters.
Its a great place if you like dolphins and a relaxing holiday.
We will be back again soon.

Just back from a week long stay at this site and thought it was fantastic, we have already recommended it! Location is fantastic our 2 boys loved the beach and the harbour.
Showers cost 20p for 3 mins but as my hubby put it if Carlsberg did showers it would be them. Great pressure and very clean, met wardens cleaning before 8am and at about 10. 30 pm and were about all the time in between!
All in all a great site our 2 kids are already asking when they go back!

Loved this site! We didn't plan to camp here but in the end we were very glad we did. Site has a couple of areas for tents to pitch in one being an old walled garden which was great for battling the sea breeze. We were pitched close to the immaculately clean facilities. Not the fanciest but of a very good standard. Hopeman, although a small village has all that you require only a couple of minutes walk away. There is a small supermarket type shop, a post office/newsagent, chemist, chip shop, gift shop, take away place and a couple of pubs. The site is right next to the beach and if a recall there is a playpark a couple of minutes away. I really couldn't fault this site. We were the only tent on site and overall (being October) it was pretty quite but given the attitude of the owners/staff we met I'm sure they work hard to maintain their high standards no matter how busy. I'm a frequent visitor to this lovely area where there is plenty to do and will definitely put this site on my return list.

Lovely site, mainly due to its position next to such a beautiful beach. There are two areas to pitch your tent.
The friendly warden directed us to the walled garden which was nice and sheltered. Toilet block was basic but very clean. Showers 20p. Also a hairdryer in the ladies. Our 4 berth tent was £17 for the night.
Well worth following the costal walk (east) to explore the lovely bays and caves. Takes about 40 mins to get to the caves. My boys aged 8 and 10 loved it!
We will definitely be back.

Station Caravan Park, is a great one! Excellent place for the views of the Moray Firth. Dolphins are regular visitors!
Lovely coastal & beach walks. 100% dog friendly! Great for rockpooling and crabbing at the habour. Fishing is not that great but I never caught anything there
Local spar, butcher, takeaways & garage if needed. Great kids park across the road (not on site).
A place for people that love to relax.
We always stop here when we are travelling Scotland!
PS. No limits on amount of dogs per pitch. (we had 5) previous year, we had 12 dogs on 2 pitches!
The people who run it are ever so friendly and helpful. Specially if your no good at parking your caravan on the actual station!
All in all one of the best sites in Scotland!

Station Caravan Park in Hopeman (Scottish Tourist Board 4*) is set in a beautiful location, within a few yards of a sandy beach. Lovely spot to go walking along the coast with both sand and rock pools for interest.
The site is mainly for statics but has two separate areas for tourers/camping, one walled and very sheltered, the other 'top field' with views over the beach. Electric hook-ups available in both. Didn't see any children's play area but. There's miles of beach!
The Warden and his wife were very friendly and helpful with nothing being too much trouble.
The site has two toilet/shower blocks which were always found very clean and tidy. Showers 20p for a quick one but 40p for very leisurely soak! Hopeman itself, is a typical North East fishing village but has all your basic needs, with the nearest shop (200m) selling fresh rolls/papers etc. A small Supermarket, Fish & Chip shop, Chinese takeaway, Cafes and two Hotels/Pubs are also within easy walking distance.
If you need retail therapy, Elgin, the nearest town, 7 miles away, has all the usual chain stores and supermarkets.
All in all a lovely clean and peaceful site, friendly staff and ideal for exploring the Moray Coast.
