Just returned from a great stay here at this little campsite, despite the ever changing weather. The owners are very welcoming and accommodating, and found us 2 pitches alongside each other.

Pitches are pretty much level, spacious and are mix of grass and hardstanding, put in small groups surrounded by trees/hedges. It is set in a quiet, sheltered valley.

The site has clean toilet and shower blocks, with lovely hot showers. Users are encouraged to clean down the shower floor with the supplied disinfectant/mop after showers, ontop of the cleaning services that are provided (at least once a day from what I saw). Electric and water points are well spread out and easily accessed.

There are superb washing up facilities and a new games room with board games and a table tennis table. There is a large field space with goal posts for ball games, and with a wooden simple adventure type climbing net/frame and a swing. This is the only thing I could suggest for improvement, but of course all things with time.I would suggest something for smaller children, such as a small climbing frame and/or slide or small swing.

There's a little shop for essentials such as tins, milk, bread and sweets, a nature walk and dog walk. I believe you can order a paper each day as well. The owners also have leaflets detailing walks around the local area with clear directions.

All in all, we had a good time here with our children of 1,3 and 8. Our parents also enjoyed their stay. The site is very peaceful, particularly at night, which is great for getting little ones to sleep.

TV reception was excellent. Phone reception can be poor in some places on the actual site (blissful in fact to be away from it all), though my mother (also on same network) had more success than me. We managed to get wifi access, for which a charitable donation is required to Shelterbox, which I thought was a fab little idea.

Well placed for Penzance, Lizard, St Ives, and Helston. There's Flambards theme park nearby for the kids. Nearby Helston has a large Tesco, Sainsbury and Lidl.

We stayed at this site during the week of Culdrose Air Days. A site is a small quiet site set in the countryside. The site is very well maintained cleaned often.

The toilet and shower blocks were kept immaculate (Keep some 20p for the hair dryer). The owners are in the middle of building a new games room, to accompany the small play area and dog walking trail. A small shop is located in the reception, which stocks all of the basics. If it is not stocked, just let the owner know and they will get in for you that same day.

Ice blocks can be kept in their freezer until required. The owners where very friendly and welcoming, and even offered to site our van for us. The site has plenty of water points and also encourages recycling.

There are three nature walks of varying lengths from the site, we didn't have time to try them out. We did try out the food at the Godolphin Arms, a couple of miles away. The pub was very warm and welcoming and the food was very tasty. I think that we will definitely visit this site again.

My only criticism is the amount of grass cuttings finding there way into my awning after the grass was cut.

A very quiet site when we were there, the owners Graham & Carole could not be more helpful. The site is nicely laid out but the facilities are just a little basic and if they are ever busy I feel they would be very stretched.

The toilets flushed OK and the water was warm to wash your hands in and there are very nice walks over the moor. There is a bus service every hour to Helston where other routes can be connected, it is 1/2 mile walk up the lane to the stop.

We had a decent level gravel pitch for our motor home which is important to us with water & electric readily available. Would we go again? Yes.

We went with the CCCDA and were very happy with this site. Nice and relaxed down a very quite lane, which made a great dog walk. Facilities were very good good with ample showers and toilets.

We had a slightly sloping pitch with one or two rabbit holes which should be sorted.

Within easy reach of Helston and Penzance and quite a few beaches in between.

The facilities at this site were immaculately clean and the grounds were very neatly kept. The owners were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The location is super-peaceful, however there aren't any real views visible from the site itself.
The site did have a small shop, which stocked a few essentials. There was a small child's play area which was safely out of the way! Electric hook-ups were available if required. Very easy to walk from site to nearby pub, or continue on to lengthy scenic walks.

Mid August still lots of spaces.Cant think why, ? ideal location for touring, quiet location, no traffic sounds. No noisy entertainment. The only noise comes from the nearby farm animals.

Helpful staff, always around to offer any help.

Our children used the small play area many times.

All in all a restful site, simple and unspoilt. If you want a break away from the usual site offering package holiday style camping come here.

Bad points. It only has a small shower and toilet block for the whole park which could be an issue when busy.

I stay at Lower Polladras twice a year. It is wonderfully clean and eco friendly with visitors recording wildlife they've spotted (we saw a badger last year!). The site is excellently planted loads of trees divide up the area and as they mature it'll be even better. Graham, the owner, works tirelessly on the place and it shows. I think it is obvious that he wants everyone to enjoy themselves and expects everyone to show consideration for others. The facilities are excellent including the eco-friendly laundry (ie you can't put loads of money in to waste energy!).

There are two pubs easy to get to, both are very friendly and do great food-the fish pie at the Godolphin Arms has been highly praised in The Times by Janet Street-Porter and the pub at Breage nearby is great. We walk to both pubs regularly with shooting stars and owl hoots etc its wonderful and so many stars in the sky. Short car/bike journeys take you to St Ive's, Crantock and Kynance Cove-who could ask for more? I've travelled widely and there's little to better these beaches and then there's the secret places to find for yourself!

We go outside of school holidays because it is so peaceful and beside bread, milk etc being available there also a morning paper! Could life be better!

Spent two weeks here this August. A lovely site, beautifully maintained with clean toilets and showers with plenty of hot water. Good dog walk path around the site and a little shop for the essentials which is open first thing and again in the afternoon. Also plenty of leaflets in Reception for things to do in the area. There is a laundry room with washing machine, tumble drier and spin dryer, which was always very busy - I suppose as the site was full this was inevitable, but perhaps an additional washing machine might be a good idea for next year.

Very quiet at night, with two different types of owls hooting away, and plenty of wildlife. Don't let your dog off the lead on the dog walk as there are lots of rabbits around.

The owners, Graham and Carole, are friendly and work very hard to make Lower Polladras such a lovely place to be.

My only criticism is that the pitches seemed very close together in one section, and a quarter of my pitch was lost because of the footpath running through it, which meant that everyone in my row had to shunt down a bit so I could get my tent on.

However, I would definitely go back again.

The paperwork said no arrivals before 2pm well after a 7 hour drive we were 15minutes early and received a cool reception from the owners and were told to park up outside the shower block and wait until 2pm when we would be shown to our pitch. At 2pm we made our way to reception with some other new arrivals and were told we had to wait to be individually shown to our pitches. This  caused chaos on the site. It was another 45 minutes before we could make it onto our pitch because the queue of new arrivals was out of the pitch gate and blocking the main campsite "ROAD" causing complete gridlock. Felt so sorry for those with caravans on the back that were told to back up and reverse into tight spaces to make way for the people like us needing to get to our pitches. God knows how long they had to wait to be sited. Eventually we were shown to our large pitch which we were pleased with as we have a large tent. The owner must have noted that when we booked. Some of the other pitches looked a little hemmed in though and strangely enough some had paths running through them!  The EHU were very spread out so make sure you have a long EHU lead. We had to hook up some distance away and hang our cable through the trees to avoid pathways.
The site has an Eco friendly theme with great recycling facilities with labelled bins for your rubbish.  The Eco theme lost its appeal in the toilet block though where we were repeatedly faced with someone elses poo in the loo cos the flushes are water saving. After 12 nights here we sussed if you flush the loo 3 times your poo will dissappear. The hot taps in the wash basins were useless. They were the push down type that as soon as you stopped pushing down to wash your hands the water stopped. There was a toddler sink in the ladies loos but absolutely nowhere to sit or dry your baby or toddler except the floor.
The showers however, were always hot and clean. Unfortunately these were also run on an eco friendly basis and the shower rose was more a circle of holes which means if you are short like me or a child the water just goes around you and not on you. There is a washing machine which you can use for £2.50 a time the tumble drier is 20p for 10 minutres but will only take 1 20p at a time so you have to keep popping back.
On arrival Mr Campsite owner explained there was an icepack freezing service available. There is a freezer in the little shop and they just ask for a donation in the tin to the RNLI. However, I was a little miffed when Mr Campsite Owner reprimanded me on day 1 for putting in a carrier bag of 8 ice packs (intended for 4 on a daily rotation) - he said I was taking the mick putting that many as he was only asking for a donation, he said he doubted there would be any room left in there but it was less than half full. The shop sold basic supplies and was open for 1 hour each morning and 1 hour each evening.
There was a play area for the kids that seemed popular.  Quite frankly although this site was in a lovely peaceful location the owners attitude was domineering and off putting. I have been camping for 34 years and have never been deemed a nuisance before which was how we felt here. There are other beautiful sites in this part of Cornwall offering just as good value for money. We will be going to one of them next time and not returning here.

Nice little site but I think it would better suit the older person who doesn't have children and wants to relax in the peace and quiet and not go anywhere.
Pitches were hard standing and grass, but you didn't seem to have a choice where you pitched the owner allocated pitches.
If you want a car free stay this site isn't the one for you .
A car is a must to get anywhere even the local pub.
There are a few walks you can do around the site .
The toilets were kept clean, showers wasn't too great water stooped  every 10 seconds and shower curtain stuck to you, there was no dry floor space.
Shop opened for a couple of hours a day and sold a few basics.
I didn't use the laundry room so can't comment on this but it looked ok.
I can't honestly say this is a site for me.
