We went to the park over the Easter holidays. Greeted warmly by the owners and were immediately impressed by the woodland entrance and the tidy landscapes fields as we drove to the reception.
Lucky for us the main toilet block has just been revamped and was looking very clean and tidy. We visited Parbola around five years ago when our children were very small and decided to return for a break, last time we visited it was the height of the season and the campsite was busy but very well run. Including a 11pm curfew for noise which we felt was respected by all.
Pitches are well maintained and huge. Larger ones available down in the play park too.
The swimming pool has also just been tidied too with new tiling.
Location: Centrally located in Cornwall therefore it was just as easy to visit the Eden Project and Lands End and even just a short ride to the beach. A Pub is up the road along with the post office and all this is located in a lovely little village.
Having visited twice now I feel it is a place to recommend to families from all walks of life. It takes the stress out of the holiday as the park is safely away from the roads and busy towns.
Well worth a visit, a quality holiday. I wouldn't bother going abroad this year with places like this to camp.

We booked this site 3 days before our stay so it was very last minute. On arrival the owners were friendly and escorted us to our allocated pitch. It was spacious enough for a Montana 6 + extension and the car.
Our pitch was very near the children's playing field which was brilliant, with four goal nets, climbing logs, big timber climbing frame with bridges, ropes and tyres, A lovely, massive area which was well maintained.
The toilets and showers were fine, a little basic perhaps but plenty of hot water, loo roll and hand soap. We got a key for a baby changing room which was great with changing table, baby bath, shower etc.
The site is a 10 minute drive from Gwithean beach which is beautiful, we got the train to stIves (park and ride 10 Mins drive). There is a camp shop that stocks basics but 10 mins drive away in Hayle there is a big M&S, Boots and Next.
The site was lovely and quiet at night, and had a nice family feel. The overall layout was great, pitches under trees, little areas hedged off and a bigger open field which is where we would pitch next time to get the sun in the evening.
Overall we thought this site was great, for some it probably wouldn't have enough mod cons but for us this was what camping is all about! You do need a car but everything is so near this wasn't a problem. Our two older children loved the site and the freedom to explore and make friends. We would definitely go back.

Only booked this campsite quite late on. Found it pretty easily but don’t get fooled by sat nav directions. Follow those directions on the website.
Arrival/Reception
Pleasant staff met us on arrival. The reception is towards the back of the site so you get to see what the place is like even before you book in. We were escorted to our pitch by the owner on his moped. He was very helpful and gave us a few hints/tips on local things. The site is mainly quite level and flat. Some pitches are within the woodland, others are on more open fields but all seemed quite large.
Facilities
There’s a large field with goal posts (care needed here as there’s nails through the wood that will puncture the ball or cause an injury). There’s an adventure play area for older kids. The pool, games room (with 2 pool tables -70p and several arcade games that were also reasonably priced) and small shop stocking just the essentials!.
The toilet/shower blocks are adequate and could be in need of modernising but the most annoying feature is the push down taps. Surely these could be fitted to stay on longer than 1 second (I’m not kidding – 1 second.). There’s a decent laundrette but at £4.00 to use the washing machines we, and others thought that was a bit expensive. The maintenance man and cleaners did well to keep everything on site working and clean.
Local
Ok, you do need a car, but locally there a pub (The Pendarves Inn 20 min walk), good food at reasonable prices (don’t know why the landlord and site owner don’t come up with a deal where a minibus takes campers to the pub and back on a couple of nights a week, it’s be beneficial for both parties). About 5 minutes away there’s a pitch and put course. (Didn’t get chance to use it due to bad weather).
10 minutes away there’s a small retail park with Next/Boots/McDonalds. Also 10 minutes away is a park and ride train station. It cost £8 for family of 4 to St Ives and back (much better than £6 parking and traffic headaches in St Ives).
Our best discovery was Kynance Cove and Lizard Point. When the tide is out (Kynance Cove) there are some great beaches but beware of the tide coming in and cutting you off! Lizard Point is much better than Land’s End unless you like the Dr Who exhibition and souvenir shops!.
Overall
A quiet family orientated site with friendly, helpful staff. Car is essential for anything off-site other than the pub. Toilet blocks do need modernising but we’d recommend the site to others especially those with kids.

We wanted to have a Christmas in Cornwall. Now we are retired we can please ourselves. We found this gem of a park through a web search and decided to book a few weeks. When we arrived it was dark and we were cold but we had a great welcome from the owners who helped us sort everything out. The static van we stayed in could not have been more comfortable. Everything we needed was there. People say Cornwall dies in the winter but we found quite the opposite. The villages all put on super Christmas light displays and we saw many and enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere. The park owners gave us lots of advice on where to go. Mousehole was magical, great lights, hot mulled wine and some great restaurants. All the main towns were well into the Christmas swing and we had a great time. The coastal scenery was spectacular and it was the best 2 weeks we have had on holiday. Cornwall in winter is a magical place to explore and the park was fantastic. Well worth a visit, clean, lots of space and helpful happy staff - what more could you wish for. We will be back !

A nice spacious site with woods and lots of open spaces. Site gives plenty of room. The holiday caravan was really nice with everything we could have wished for. The site is sheltered unlike those right on the coast which we have stayed in before. There is a small shop selling essentials and plenty for the kids to do on the park. We will come again, a very pleasant stay in super surroundings.

We booked 8 nights here and due to the heavy rain we didn't pitch in the wooded bit, but in the main pitching area
The pitch was a good size, there is high hedging separating the blocks of pitches which hold around 6 units in each
The site was fairly quiet at night, and most people there were families with young children
The pool looked nice however we didn't use it ourselves - we found it a fairly easy location to get to most places by car
It has a lot to do for children, the pool is great, there is an excellent play area too
We also had a key to the baby changing facility was was clean and warm
Downsides - pitches were very cramped, the showers and toilets need updating, the shop was very basic, not much was done to prevent excessive noise during the evening although most people were quiet from around 11
The site has a no noise after 11 rule and no excessive noise before then but wasn't adhered to and unfortunately we found the owners to be quite unhelpful when we mentioned to them about some excessive noise we were experiencing from the tent next to us
Overall I didn't feel it represented good value for money, if it was nicer weather then I would recommend the wooded area to pitch in, I think it would be much quieter there and less cramped too

We arrived on to the park, at about lunch time on the Saturday. While there were a couple of people in front of us in the queue to be booked in, we were seen in no time. After a few minutes sorting out booking details, we were shown to our pitch in the woods by a member of staff on a moped.
The pitch was in a glade with 4 other tents, which gave the place a nice feel as you did not feel either too crowded or too isolated. The kids loved the pool and play area both with in a couple of minutes walk of the tent.
We also had a choice of two shower blocks on in the woods and one next to the pool. There was always plenty of hot water and we never had to queue for a shower.
The park itself seemed well maintained and clean. We never saw any litter and people seemed to be having a nice time all around us.
As for location the park was in a great place. We could get to a stunning beach (Gwithian) in about 10 minutes, and with it being in the centre the whole of Cornwall was really easy to get to.
We really enjoyed our time on the park. It was quite and the kids were really sad to leave. We will definitely be back next year.

My Husband and I arrived at the entrance to the site and WOW! What an entrance! Beautiful tree lined glades awaited us and as we drove further into the park it led into more open parkland.
The choice was ours, in the woodland or on the parkland. For us there was no contest had to be in the glades.
Friendly smiling staff greeted us and booked us in then escorted us to a fantastic spacious level pitch. The gentleman then proceeded to explain where all the facilities were and even gave us a few tips on places to visit that would appeal to us using his local knowledge.
Having young children it was great to have peace and quiet in the evenings with no drunken yobs or loud music disturbing them. It meant that we could have time to ourselves to relax.
The play facilities were well thought out and positioned so that the children could play safely and with flora and fauna abundant in the glades they got to learn a little about the countryside too.
There were plenty of toilets and showers and the water was hot! Hooray! (Been on plenty of sites and had cold showers).
Village pub couple of hundred yards up the road. Local beach less than ten minutes in the car. Huge selection of beaches and attractions within about twenty minute drive. Loads of tourist info in the laundry block if you want it
All in all fantastic site a real hidden gem in the Cornish countryside. Definately be back next year!

Very last minute, we managed to get a pitch with electric for camping, just a short break, for 3 nights. We were so pleased when we got there. Our pitch was pretty big and set in the woods, it was very beautiful and the man on the moped showed us exactly where to go and what was where on the site. The outdoor pool was great fun and we were incredibly lucky as we had the heatwave during our entire stay! It's open from 9am - 9pm. There's a games room with two pool tables and some arcade machines - all cheaply priced to use and there's also a variety of birds in a large cage type construction next the games room. Close by there's also a small general stores, which was very handy for milk, sweets and playing cards etc. There's also a park for older children, with climbing equipment, a slide, a huge log to walk across and two very big swings and a younger toddler's area with a big sandpit, buckets/spades, 2 play houses, slides, see saws and a variety of ride ons. My son loved the crazy golf on offer. My only quibble would be that the showers and toilets could do with updating and more of them, though they were regularly cleaned and served a purpose. Oh and the flippin' noisy owl that kept everyone awake on the first night for about an hour from 1am onwards! But, well, that's part of camping! Didn't come back again luckily. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We used the park as a base and visited Land's end (fantastic!) and Flambard's (spent 6 hours there) whilst staying and easily found two large Tesco's , on very nearby. All in all, I would definitely go back and friends have seen my photos and also want to go! Highly recommended.

Nice place , friendly staff greeted us after a 10 hour journey! Either way a nice little site. Having been camping for a while I have never been escorted by a little man on a moped to our preferred spot! Hugely friendly when we explained that we didnt like the nuisance of kids etc, excellent little spot under the trees.( always damp though) Shop, basic but otherwise ok, pool nice on a summers day. Downsides! It is very very very quiet at night, not a problem you would think! No its so concentrated that you can hear your neighbours snoring! Not two close together but accross the field. Lay awake till 4pm listening to a neighbouring couple rowing with a couple in some trailer tent! Way off the beaten track too, nothing to stimulate kiddies so the pool is your only option or a drive to Hayle. (drab town , stunning beach though, been going since 1977!) Recap, great tree covered site, clean and tidy but basic showers/toilets. Middle of nowhere and lots of driving to the coast . Not bad site shame about the location
