Nice quiet friendly family run site. Large open pitches and woodland pitches well maintained. We experienced very rainy weather and some parts of the site got quite muddy especially near to toilet block. Toilet and shower blocks could do with updating but kept clean. Large childrens play area but could do with modernising. We didn't use the pool but it looked okay. The village was quite small, had a pub but we didn't really go as we have four young boys and the roads were a bit busy. Hayle beaches are fantastic and only a short drive away. Would use the campsite again but it wouldn't be a first choice. It is more for the quiet life.

August 2005 We were late booking this season but managed to get into this site, we weren't quite sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Our pitch was a little small and we felt a bit cramped but everyone was friendly so we didn't stress about it too much. Our pitch was close to the reception point in an open area and we found it a bit noisy as people were constantly back and forth to the washing up and laundry area, shop etc. There are open and woodland pitches most with electric hookup, these looked quite nice.
The bathroom facilities were a bit lacking in so much as they were insufficient for the amount of people camping. Long queues for the showers which was annoying and if you went early the water was scalding, go later and the water was cold, so I never really got a happy medium with this. It appears that the ladies facilities were always busier than the men's.
The pool looked excellent and lots of children seemed to enjoy it although we never used the facility.
There is a small shop offering grocery basiscs but with limited opening hours. Laundry and washing up facilities were good and there were plenty of areas to hang out your clothes, wet suits etc.
Location, was good for the site and there was a nice village shop, good local pub The Pendarves Inn offering good food. Lots of little farm shops around too. There is a large Tesco's at Pool and various other small supermarkets at Hayle.
Brilliant beaches at Gwithian and Godrevy Lighthouse NT Site. We used this site to trek all around Cornwall's coast which was no more than half an hour's drive to the furthest point at Land's End.
Overall, an average site which we would use again but not as our first choice.

August 2003 Very handy location to visit the southern area of Cornwall and certainly a nice setting in a woodland area and the Pool is of a decent standard. The grass appeared to be cut daily and the toilet/shower block cleaned reguarly.
During my visit it appeared that the site did suffer from being muddy on some pitches in the woodland area after some rain, although my pitch in the wood was excellent and sheltered.
The facilities could be bettered by adding further toilets and showers and upgrading the current facilites on site, but the site is enjoyable and not far off from being a very good site. I would go back especially if made that bit better. A good pub is only a short walk up the road.
