Myself, husband and 3 year old son stayed at this site recently. Although I work in this industry I have never stayed in a caravan, so didn't really know what to expect. The site itself is fantastic. Any one with young children will love it, there is a great outdoor play area, an indoor play area, and exceptional swimming pool with a paddling pool, perfect for my little one. Best of all were the donkeys and goats, who we fed everyday and the cheeky rabbits. The staff were all very helpful. The caravan we stayed in was clean and tidy. The local area is great too, Mevagissy is lovely, we found some lovely beaches and found the local people to be very friendly, the whole area is very child friendly.
Hope to return.

Chose here after seeing some good reviews. We met quite a few people there who had been going back there for several years and had already rebooked for next summer. Not cheap but seems about the norm for the area and you do have the indoor pool. Overall I thought the park was nice although our view of it was perhaps a little coloured by the bad weather!
Pitches here were large and the touring area was attractive with trees around the edge of the park. However, we had bad weather all week (obviously not the park's fault!) and our pitch (and some others)became really waterlogged. There was some standing water in some of the dips on the grass and our pitch had a really big dip in the middle and we obviously had some under our groundsheet and we were soon having to avoid the middle of the living area as it just turned to liquid / clayey mud. I think we drew the short straw to some extent but drainage can clearly be an issue on some pitches and to be honest it did spoil our holiday a little.
Bathrooms were unisex with showers, loo and sink in individual rooms- water always hot. The floors could become quite wet with water from the showers during the day though and they were only cleaned in the morning- I agree with previous reviewers that perhaps they could be cleaned (or even just mopped) more frequently especially as the loos are in the same rooms and any 'splashes' would just join the water on the floor.
Shop had all essentials at fair prices and they even have a service where you can pre-order your groceries and they will have these waiting for you when you arrive which I thought was a good idea.
The indoor swimming pool is great and was never that busy- open 9-9 as well so the kids could even fit in 2 swims some days. There is a club house with bar which is open in the evenings and they had entertainment (a band, quiz night etc) on a couple of nights ( we did not go ourselves but our 'neighbours' said it was great)There is also a softplay area for little ones. The donkeys and rabbits were a big hit with our kids.
Lots to do in the area. St Austell has big supermarkets etc and lots of villages etc in the area.Mevagissey nice to wander around and Gorran Haven is a lovely harbour with sandy beach.

We stayed at Sun Valley for a week recently and had a great time. The weather was a bonus as it was lovely everyday.
We camped with our large family tent (2 adults and two children aged 2 and 11). When we arrived we were shown to our pitch which was a nice spot on the touring field close to the amenties (showers, toilets, shop etc). The showers are hot and powerful and there are plenty of them, but my only critiscism was that they are all ensuite bathrooms (with the exception of one) so they tend to end up a bit smelly as the day goes on with people using the toilet, apart from that the facilities are great. There are also two friendly donkeys and goats and loads of rabbits on the site which my children loved feeding.
There is a great swimming pool that we used every morning and it was never busy. Next to the swimming pool is a bar with a family room and separate adults only area, we ate in the bar a couple of times and the food was good. Next to the bar is a play room with a soft play area which is great for the younger children.
There is also a playground that caters for toddlers as well as older children and a launderette (with irons and ironing boards) which came in handy a couple of times.
The area is really nice we visited Mevagissey which is 5 mins away and a lovely fishing village. The Ship Inn in Pentewan is only a mile or so walk and there is a trail through the woods that leads straight to Pentewan. Beaches are plentiful in the area.
My family all throughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone.

We had a 7 night stay at the campsite with electric. The pitches are a good size and close to the toilets and shop. The shop has the necessities. The pool is good size and clean but not very warm, the pool wasnt very busy, the changing rooms dont have any lockers. It was very very wet for the whole week we were there and the pitches did get waterlogged. The bar and resturant were very clean and tidy the staff were friendly but the resturant was only open in the evening. There wasnt any entertainment on apart from a quiz on wednesday night. Pentewan the local village is nice to look around but there isnt much there. Mevagissy is the next biggest village but isnt a gret deal there either. The toilets were very clean and good size, the showers were clean warm and moden but took a while to figure out how to use.

This campsite is about 5mins from st Austell & Mevagissy. St Austell has various supermarkets - asda, tesco, lidl, aldi. Mevagissy is a small fishing village but nice to go and see, plenty of places to eat. The site has a small touring area but you get a very good sized pitch, there also is statics. There is a small shop on site, a bar & restaurant. There is small ball pit area next to the bar of which you can watch the kids. The swimming pool you can go in at anytime you dont have to book. Went to the restaurant when we first arrived meal was vey nice and not expensive. The toilet block has 1 separate toilet all the rest have shower, toilet and sink in indvidual rooms. The toilets were cleaned early in the morning which I think they should of been cleaned mid morning which is what usually happens and could of been a bit cleaner then. Only problem there is when it is really busy and you are just needing to use the toilet, there is going to be a q, as there is only 1 separate toilet. The playpark is up the hill from the restaurant but is too far to let kids go by themselves. You can feed the donkeys and goats which the kids enjoyed. Would recommend going to the Cyder Farm, would not recommend the Eden project a very big let down and is not aimed at kids even although there website says this.

Sun Valley is a great site with statics and touring field. The only real criticism we all had was the toilet/shower block. All individual very modern showers, with basin and toilet - very stylish, but no instructions as to how to use the shower! Hence half the time was spent twiddling knobs etc, most of which didn't seem to work. Also not keen that they were all unisex. Only one separate toilet for the touring field (again unisex). Apart from that the site is very well maintained with great facilities and just about the right amount of entertainment. Club is totally gorgeous with a soft play area separated from the main dining/entertainment room and bar, but visible through window. The indoor pool is superb, with lovely sun area just outside, with sunbeds. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Shop excellent and not over priced (as they are on a lot of sites). Very central site for visiting the area (if you can battle through holiday traffic!) Lovely walk to Pentewan beach along river and through woods. It is a good mile, but all level and worth it in the end. Pub serving food in the village - which we found to be excellent and kid friendly! We are back at New Year and the summer! Well done Sun Valley and thanks

Stayed for 5 days over Easter. Found the owners and staff very friendly. The site is level and spacious with tourers set amongst static caravans. Showers good, the on site shop offering the normal selection of goodies. Free indoor pool was virtually your 'own' as it was so quiet. Games room for the older kids and clubhouse bar for us, food and drink both reasonable with a take away service. Good location to visit the Eden Project. One way system in place on the site, if you do follow it the exit has a very, very sharp bend on it, could not get 7.5m motorhome round it so exited the way I went in! be aware.

A great site not too big but had everything. We had a very large pitch and being able to set up however you like made for a very easy going and friendly feeling. It wasn't full but I don't think it would be cramped even if it was. The large individual bathrooms are great with new showers. Small shop had everything we needed the staff were very friendly and helpful. The children loved the animals which were also very friendly. We found no bad points and will be going back.

Booked at this site after reading the reviews on here and we weren't disappointed. Excellent site with really good facilities and very friendly, and helpful, staff. Most people staying there had been before and, to us, that's the best recommendation. We will definitely go back again.

It has been raining solidly for 3 days before we arrived and the place really was waterlogged. The had reseeded the main camping area and they asked us to pitch acroos the road on the grassed edge under large oak trees. It was impossible to get a full set of pegs into the ground due to massive underground roots, so we asked to move.
We found an area on the main area which was not seeded and pitched there fine. We were asked not to park on the seeded areas and that was fine.
The site is 95% static caravans and sometimes the noise from the people from those was intrusive, coming going until around 11pm
The showers rooms have a toilet and sink. The were about 10. Considering there are only 25 pitches that's quite a good ratio! They were kept clean and were a pretty good standard.
The takeaway was fine although the selection was limited. you could sit in the restaurant for a larger selection. Pool was a good size although I never used it, it always seemed fairly quiet.
Washing machines were £2 for a full cycle and industrial tumble dryers were 20p for 3 minutes. Irons and boards were free.
The game room on site was a bit pricey. £1 per game of pool, £1 per game of air hockey and if you wanted to play table tennis you had to buy 2 bats and a ball for £2-50. you could still only then play for an hour at a time!
The road that the campsite is on is a smallish lane, but it seems the locals use it for speeding up and down. Road noise could be heard until around 9pm when it quietened down.
There's a Macdonalds 5 minutes away and a Pizza hut was being built next door to that.
All in all a good site though.
