Ive been going to this site since the late 60s when it first opened. The site is very clean and the beaches are very safe with lots of rock pools to explore.
The shop is reasonably stocked but do now not sell papers. Its ideal for anything you have forgotten to get. Limited opening times. A large supermarket is at Elgin 7 miles away. The amusement arcade is a bit dated, but is ideal to let the children spend their holiday money.
The cafe and chip shop again has limited opening times. Food was a good quality. There is a very good cafe and chip shop in Lossiemouth 2 miles away. Club lets the site down.
Children under 14 are not allowed in bar so have to sit in children's room, which is very small and unsupervised. Again club during low/mid season has very limited opening times.
The site has a launderette which seemed clean. The toilet blocks and shower blocks are cleaned daily so can be a bit dirty first thing in morning, Toilet rolls do seem to get a bit sparse. But if I did have to use them I would take my own toilet roll with me.
Camping/ caravanning pitches are good with a good area to pitch up in. As with any caravan site look at who your camping next to. There is no use moaning if you do not do your homework before sticking your tent up.
There is plenty of places to visit. Elgin cathederal, Baxters, Whiskey distileries, Lochness, The site isvery close to RAF Lossiemouth so aircraft fly over site on a regular basis usually between 9am and 8pm but can fly 24hrs a day

Stayed here also in 2009 and have found the standards have dropped. They no longer have the portaloos dotted round the campsite and the cleanliness in the toilets and shower block could of been better. I noticed there was quite a few patches of dog poo around the campsite which was very off putting.
There is a small shop and takeaway as well as an arcade area. There is a small playground available for the children which my 3 year old enjoyed.
I know the place has gone into administration so they have probably had a lot of cutbacks to deal with. I really hope they find a buyer who will get it back up to its high standards of the past.
Apart from that the site is in a lovely area and watching the RAF tornadoes is awesome however if you want somewhere quiet don't come here. The jets were out flying between 9am and approx 9pm.

Have just visited this campsite with friends and family, It is a good site although in need of repair in some places. My kids loved it they were able to keep busy.
Found it very relaxing with lovely beaches. Lossiemouth itself is well worth a visit. We left on the monday just when the jets from Raf Lossiemouth were taking off, which I found to be brilliant to watch.
Disappointed that their was only one shower block for such a big site, but overall had a great stay

This was a pretty impromptu visit for us, my sister was up visiting us from England with her partner and 2 kids, so we thought we would join them for a weekend as we live local, we rang the office at about 1755, 5 minutes before they closed and the staff were so nice they stayed to ensure we were booked in, we didn't have the £10 deposit for the toilet block key but they were happy for me to drop it in, in the morning.
The site is really large the play area for the kids was really good, the site has direct access onto Covesea beach which really is a nice beach as are most of Moray's. A security patrol went around during the evening to ensure that no mischief was being done (ensure if you light fires it is of the ground in a BBQ etc).
The chippy is really nice, the shop well stocked, didn't visit the bar (unusual for me) but the Skerie Brae pub in Lossie village is really top class, used by the locals and serves good food, the other bars around Lossie are fine, be prepared if you are here during the week for the Tornado's leaving from RAF Lossiemouth, they are really loud but pretty awesome to watch, which is literally on the other side of the road, they rarely fly over the weekend.
Overall a real good site and will visit again, you don't need to book if you don't require electric.

I have used this site over many years with both caravan and tent but I now feel compelled to put pen to paper this year. The setting cannot be beaten with idealic beaches, site shop and restaurant, reasonable proximity to shops in Lossiemouth and Elgin where further facilities such as cinema, icerink, etc can also be found.
Now I must come to the down-side: (I know the site has gone into receivership this year though I can't understand why as it is always so busy) The toilet and shower block leaves a lot to be desired. Although kept reasonably clean, they are just over-used because there are not enough to service the number of users. All we can hope for is that the next owners can improve these facilities and bring such a potentially fantastic site up to scratch.

This was a very good site, with everything to suit everybody. The children's play area is very good, the site itself is very large, as such so are the plots. Our plot was right next to the beach, which is a superb beach. If you have a dog, it is excellent for dog walking, plus the kids will love it too.
The showers and toilets are clean and in a good condition. The shop is adequate for needs, however, unless you like fish and chips, meals are limited from the site. Although we didn't visit the bar for the one night we were there, the music sounded good and people seemed to enjoy themselves.
We would definitely use this site again, the whole family loved it.

Only camped for one night but found this to be a pleasant family campsite. Very busy, but it was the first Saturday in August, the height of the school holidays and the Moray coast was the only place in Scotland with a good weather forecast! I usually camp on my own but was with a friend with child & dog - everyone enjoyed it! Not nearly as noisy as I'd expected, given the density of campers and proximity of the airbase.
Toilet blocks seemed fine, they also have portaloos 'dotted around' the site, which are great if you have kids who need the loo in the night.
We didn't go into Lossiemouth itself, but enjoyed the lovely sandy beach and a swim in the sea!

Nice beach but poor camp site, bins were over-flowing. Toilets were lacking in toilet roll. There appeared to be no warden to monitor noise levels. Our family were kept awake until well after 3am due to a large group of male campers in the tent next to ours who were swearing loudly. Not something you want your young children to overhear. We had planned to stay for two nights but only stayed for one. We packed up as soon it was light and will not be returning. Would not recommend for families!

We used this site several years ago and it was very pleasant. On our recent visit,we were a bit disappointed. Mirrors missing off the gents toilets, complained two days running that there were no toilet rolls in the morning, ended up using our own, and a dirty leak in the middle of the floor, coming from a waste pipe. 2 nights out of our week stay, police were called to yobs arguing and fighting,a dmittidly they were thrown off the site the next day. If they did a check in the evening, this kind of behaviour would not spoil other people's enjoyment. Also, despite notice at reception stating dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, dogs allowed to roam the site at will.
Good points are, lots of space, good shop, pub, chipper, lovely beach and the staff in the reception and shops are all very nice. Lots of small friendly towns in the area to visit. If the toilets and security were upgraded, this site would be hard to beat.

Excellent children's entertainment. Pub onsite and chipper. Shop also on site really well stocked.
Grass / patches coped with the downpours, not very well maintained, never seen so much weeds! Toilets a real special treat, no toilet roll most of the time, no soap most of the time, general cleanliness not great and smelt awful.
Staff drink while working, drinking onsite off shift although this pup is used by locals. Drink was very reasonable a real plus!
Lack of laundry facilities due to break downs. Really needs a revamp as it is still living in the 1970's
General staff attitudes not very great to be honest and did let the site down!
