I have camped at this site twice now. I really like it. It's right next to a beautiful beach and has ample pitching space.
I agree with what others have said about the toilets being a little dated but they are very clean and appeared to be serviced regularly.
I don't have kids but there seemed to be plenty to keep them amused onsite.
There is a shop, pub, chip shop etc. (if that's your thing)
Good little pot wash and launderette and they even have washing lines set up!
Lossiemouth is a really pretty town. The surrounding area is very nice and has lots of attractions etc.
You do get some noise from the nearby airbase but don't let that put you off.

Decided to try out this site my self and fiancee as we had time without the kids. We had an excellent time the weather was good for 3 of the four days that we stayed. It was fairly busy when we got there but by the evening the place was packed tight with tents. The site offered a wide range of things from a chippie arcade shop bar and live entertainment wich we thought was really good and so we went each night. The prices of the shop and for pitching were good. The toilet facilities were rather dated and I thought could benefit with more cleaning during the course of the days - there is a large amount of people useing them and they only seemed to be once daily. But it really is very much a family site everybody seemed to have their kids with them and we felt a little left out because of it so were going back in September with our 3 little ones.

Good Points:- Good Family resort for Kids to make friends, and have fun at the Beach as well as at the play area and games areas, Great for those interested in RAF Fighter Planes(TORNADO Jets)fly past. Good Weekend Nightspot Entertainment for all ages as well as a good shop and chip shop/café. Good TV/Sky satellite reception. Well situated for travelling to Elgin for shopping and swimming pool.
Bad Points:- Toilets were poorly maintained and would require to be cleaned and inspected more frequently. Some of the pitches were very grass bare and covered in old and recent cigarette butts which made for us having a good clean up prior to setting up the awning.

Have stayed here many times as a child and adult agree with some other reviewers that site would benefit from an overall upgrade particularly the tent area more electric hook-ups for tents are required to give greater choice of pitch. Plus point is that having a large tent is not a problem.Have been the victim of the gale force wind which is very scary in a tent more sheltered areas were available but without hook-up however staff helped next day by hiring us a caravan early morning and refunded our tent fees. The caravan we hired was fantastic. Will return again but not with a tent ! .

Great site. It has a shop, entertainment complex, fish'n chip shop, playpark, football / basketball pitch, beach and good toilet / shower amentities block.
The prices in the shop are a little high for some items but in the entertainment complex the bar prices are very cheap. The complex is slighty dated giving a feel of needing an upgrade however it was clean and very well thought out. The water in the sinks for dishwashing was scorching hot and a small laundrette is onsite too.
The only thing that caused me annoyance was that several dog owners thought it ok to allow their dogs to be unleashed or to 'go with their children' unleashed, including the playpark. This is very inconsiderate not only for the health implications but also my 2 daughters are terrified of dogs and were very distressed at being caught in a park with 2 dogs running around.
All in all this was a great weekend and We will definitely return to this site.

Had a very enjoyable stay at Silver Sands this weekend. The site has excellent facilities:- Shop, Chip Shop, small restaurant, Pub and arcades. The shop sells bacon rolls hot coffee/Tea if you feel lazy. Although the shop is expensive it's great to have it on the site. Had no issues with the toilets or showers as all were adequate. The beach is beautiful and excellent for walking the dog. The site is also a good base for the east coast which has some lovely towns and villages along the coast. You can also do the Whiskey & Castle trail which are worth a look at and taste of coarse! All in All well worth a visit.

This was our first visit to Lossiemouth and we found that this was a nice site. Some pitches were very stony but the site is otherwise very well cared for. The only problem was that it is fairly noisy but then it is next to an airbase! We found it was a good base for seeing the area and there are .

Nice location, during the day you are away from it all and relaxed, children loved the sports area and were safe to play with their balls, but beware come midnight Groups of young adults were allowed to party all night despite going to alert security. Not for the fainthearted !

Lovely, clean caravan park.
We went on the Easter weekend, so was very VERY busy.
Couldn't really 100% relax due to it being a very large site where we were very close to the main building housing the bar, chip shop and shop-which meant our son had to be watched like a hawk (far too many cars going about and not sticking to speed limit)
Showers were great, very warm all day long. Toilet blocks clean and tidy.
Chip Shop was fantastic. Well stocked shop, but a bit expensive compared to shops in Lossiemouth & Elgin!
Fantastic things for the kids to take part in.bonnie bonnet competition and an egg hunt were both on the agenda which was a great time had by all!
Staff in office were very friendly, other staff obviously didn't own or run the site, as they didn't smile much!
Good site if you like a busy non stop holiday!

I would recommend this site for almost anyone. Pitches are large and accommodating. The site itself is built on a huge expanse of grass near the sea, that allows children to run around freely, on a site that uses speed bumps to keep traffic speed to a minimum. It really is just open the door and let the kids run around. There is a pleasant nightclub that has got the balance just right in terms of how it handles young children. Families and their children can sit and drink at the rear third of the nightclub (near the entrance), whilst those without children sit in the front two-thirds. It may sound slightly anti-child-friendly but in fact it works really well. With several children of my own I don't mind at all. The family area has the same quality of seating as the rest of the club, and you can hear and view the entertainment almost as well as those in the other area (you are viewing through a metal grill, but it does not obscure much). At other times children's entertainment (e.g. Magicians) takes place in the children's area. Even if you don't care for children's noise, you can still have a tranquil holiday here. The site is so large that children don't need to come near caravans that aren't theirs. With easy access to the beach too (you just walk directly onto the beach), you can enjoy the sand and sea. There is a chipper, shop, small amusements area and playpark too. Elgin and Nairn make interesting days out. The RAF jets overhead can be a little bit noisy at times, but they are more interesting than troublesome. You soon learn to ignore them. If you can get good weather (and that is not always so easy here!) you can have a really relaxing time here, and the kids will love it.
