Just returned from a week at this campsite and we had to write in to confirm how good it is!

I would agree with all that Running Monkey had to say about the site and the area which is great for families. We were a little concerned about all the rules (we have a 2 & 3 year old) but these really just keep the place in order and are not heavily policed.

The main toilet block is excellent and the family bathrooms are ideal for anyone with small children. They are cleaned twice a day and pretty much everything around the site is in tip top condition. The play park is very useful to keep the kids entertained for a hour while you sort the tent out.

The only downside is that it is fairly expensive for a family of four - but if you compare it to what other sites are charging (with hardly any of these facilities) then it balances out. You could easily stay on site for a couple of days keeping everyone entertained.

We have just returned from this fab campsite. We are new to camping this was only our 2nd 'go'.

The site is spacious and well planned the facilities are spotless and well maintained.

There is plenty for all ages to do, we took our 7 year old daughter with us and we could always find something to do. The play area for the children is secluded but safe, the tennis courts looked amazing and we found some really good bike rides. There is a man made beach by a pond which all the children seem to love, the water looked a bit green but my daughter went in and didn't get ill even though cold!

It seemed a very friendly site and there weren't too many large groups so the atmosphere was very family based. It seemed that everyone kept to the no noise rule after 9pm, which is great when trying to settle down.

I can't wait to return!

Lovely site in a lovely area, ideal for families to visit as lots to do in the surrounding area.

On entering the site the first thing we noticed was lots of signs telling you not to do things 'no noise', 'no ballgames', etc. which are all kind of obvious rules that you follow if you are an experienced camper. As a result we were worried we were in for a bit a of a difficult time of it with two toddlers and a one-year old in tow but we had an all round pleasant experience despite the noise from a large group of families next to us after the sites\ official lights out time (and this was despite the site clearly stating that they do not take group bookings).

The toilet / laundry / washing up facilities were fantastic - my only complaint would be that the water was a bit too hot!

Lovely facilities on site including a lake with little beach, park, tennis courts and golf course, all of which were used by our party.

There are loads of things to do in the local area, our highlights were Easton farm park, Framlingham Castle and Southwold. Ipswich has a good pool with wave machine as a good option for bad weather activity. The pub in Orford was another highlight for its lovely food and Adnams beer.

Would definitely return and that's the best endorsement I can give!

Nice campsite. We don't have children and so were heartened by the rules on noise etc, however don't be fooled - this campsite appeals to families and there were a lot of noisy children about.

We had a pitch in the adults area, overlooking the lake. Very spacious, we had room for car, tent, utility tent and still plenty of space to sit out and eat.

The shop, bar and restaurant were useful, although quite old-fashioned. Staff here, plus those in reception were very friendly and welcoming.

Facilities were clean, but a bit old and tatty, although I think the block in the main camping area was much more modern.

Well worth a visit, as long as you don't mind a little noise!

Quite pricey at £15 per person per night, though no extra charges for utility tent.

I am surprised that there are not more reviews about this great site, Are people trying to keep it a secret? Other posters have already told you about the the great facilities about this site. Nothing more needs to be said, so to show the extent to which this site goes to make your stay a pleasure I thought I would post a copy of an email I sent them after my visit:

From someone who works in an industry where customer service is all important its not often that I get the pleasure of letting some one know about the great customer experience I have had, all to often its easy to write and criticise than it is to write and say thank you.

We took our friends advice and booked a weekend at your impressive site rather than book a weeks holiday somewhere cheaper and when our eldest child says on our journey home today 'I know we only went for the weekend, but it seems like we have been on holiday for a week' we know we made the right decision.

From the attention to detail on the site from the amenities for the children to the cleanliness of the washrooms and their availability, there was nothing disappointing about our visit. The customer experience was delivered throughout. From our first interaction when we arrived, to the friendliness of the staff at the Rendezvous and the Cleaners (who I suspect are an outside company) but they still treat you with the same respect.

I could waffle on about customer service all day; your business has both the customer service and the customer experience spot on. My wife and young family who have never been camping before will now talk about our experience for a long time and I, as well as they, will look forward to the day we can return to the Moon and Sixpence.

It has been an absolute pleasure to stay at your establishment.

Quite simply, the best site we have found for years. Care, consideration and good manners the standard. Beautiful site with constant upkeep to the highest standard. Peaceful, restful, quiet. Sports facilities if you wished, but well sited away from the pitches. Restaurant and full bar just like a country pub. Welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

The adult area was great, we pitched above the lake, which was fascinating with the birdlife, visiting pair of herons, ducks, fish popping up in the water right up to the beach - such a great idea to have a beach.

The toilet facilities were amazing, a family room complete with large glass sided shower, washbasin, and toilet in one private room. Excellent laundry facilities. Only thing I would have liked is some sort of fridge facility for tent users. I know each site has electricity provided automatically, but not all of us can carry a fridge in our car as well as the tent equipment.

Lovely walks and places to visit in surrounding area, especially Constable country and Sutton Hoo and Woodbridge. Love to go back again.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights over the August Bank Holiday. It was expensive and (unusually) they want their money in advance. It cost us £120 for four nights. We stayed at the 'Adults Only' section which is very small and we we still disturbed by horrendous screaming from some families with very troublesome (disturbed?) children. The site has strict rules about this but they did not seem to be enforced. However, after dark it was quiet and peaceful. We thought that the bar and clubhouse was very expensive for the quality on offer, but the staff were very courteous and helpful.

Toilet and shower facilities etc were definitely superior to (most) sites. Unusually, baths were available at no extra charge. However, this site does not come up to 5* continental standards. We found that sites in France were better and much cheaper.

We experienced one problem each day - sewage smell which seemed to come from four bubbling parts of the lake. At times this was so strong it made us gag and we could not eat our meal. We were camped alongside the lake. If we returned here we would not stay close to the lake because of this smell.

However, this site is better than most - apart from that smell.

This is an exceptionally well managed site, with a lot attention given to maintaining it in beautiful condition. We pitched on a terrace overlooking the lake. Each morning we watched the lakeside beach being smoothed over by a tractor, whilst another worker raked out weed.

The toilet facilities are excellent and there are 3 blocks. The central one has unisex bathrooms and showers and an excellent laundry room.

The shop and the bar are run by cheerful staff that makes it a pleasure to be served there.

Martlesham Heath with its large Tesco superstore is in walking distance, Woodbridge within reasonable cycling distance.

The site owner is formidable, so expect to be interviewed and your good character assessed, before he will allow you to book a pitch or let you onto the site.

My partner and I stayed two nights at the moon and sixpence last year and are looking to return again this year if possible. The showers and toilets were clean and spacious with music playing, which was nice to not have to listen to everyone else in the block.
The site was quiet and we liked that the price was per person, I assume to discourage families with lots of children, therefore reducing the noise. The park rules were clearly written and fair and the wholepark in general was well kept.
The shop was small but had all the essentials we needed, including the tea towels & washing up liquid we forgot to bring! did not use the restaurant/ clubhouse so cannot comment there. Cycled to the nearby town (can't remember the name of it, but it was nice), really nice pub called the seal, worth a visit! overall, really nice, very impressed.

I am craving a return to Moon & Sixpence, it was so peaceful, even with our 3 children! I like the rule about noise respect after 9.00pm its always hard when camping to find this balance, so well done, and the beach was raked most mornings making it clean for the children, we had such beautiful weather we could even have a swim, the sports facilities are fantastic, showers and toilet block immaculate, the cleanest and most beautiful camping site we have ever visited! SEE YOU SOON
