Really nice site, a bit difficult to find as the hedge had not been cut by the sign showing the direction to the camp site, drove past several times before phoning to get directions to the site.

Very well set out site, mixture of grass and hardstands, with electric if needed, staff very friendly and approachable,

toilets and showers very clean at all times free showers nice and hot and you don't keep having to push a button like a lot of sites. Will I return. YES

I went here with a friend to a small meet. The wardens managed to site all 7 units together at the end of the field, which was very accommodating for a small site such as this.

It rained for 3 days and three nights, but the site didn't flood, although the stream became a river at times! When the sun came out, it was lovely, a few midges about though, so take some skin-so-soft with you.

I couldn't fault the facilities, all were very clean and the daily clean time didn't get in the way as they open the disabled toilet to everyone while they do the general loos, so no need to cross your legs for an hour! Because we were at the far end of the site, it was a good walk to the toilet block, but that was ok, seeing as there were rather a lot of us who wanted to be next to each other!

The dog walk was a bit small to be a walk, more just a 'business' facility really, but there were some nice walks out into the surrounding countryside and up and down the little lanes, so not too bad.

It is not a short walk into Bala, it's two miles away and the road has no footpaths and is busy. The best way is to drive there, and there are three main car parks when you arrive - two where the village begins (from the Corwen road) and a large park right by the lake at the other end of the village and leisure centre, which also has a nice cafe.

A Fish and Chip shop and other takeaways in Bala, a couple of nice cafes, several pubs, and a petrol station. Also other nice little shops, a few sell camping gear and hardware as well, and three charity shops, I got a great bargain in one of those!

When the sun came out, we went to Fairbourne for the day (a lovely little unspoilt village, unlike it's neighbour, Barmouth) and walked on the beach in the sunshine, lovely! A great place to take children for the day, small amusements arcade, cafes x 2, small co-op, very friendly locals and of course, that glorious clean beach, which is dog friendly to the left-hand side of the village as you approach the prom.

Overall, and considering that there were a few of us going, the site and managers were very accommodating, the little shop was adequate and the site quite level, drainage not too bad, considering the 3 day downpour. Quiet at night too, not counting the sheep!

Arrived on site with snow on the ground - some trepidation with regard to what the weather might throw at us - we had one day of constant rain and showery for the rest of the week - main issue was that the ground was waterlogged and very muddy.

The site is fairly small but the pitches don't feel cramped at all.

Facilities are fairly limited as you would expect on a small site, but never had to queue for the showers, even over the bank holiday weekend. Toilets were always clean and regularly inspected.

Also have a small shop on site plus launderette.

Very friendly and helpful staff on-site.

Small play area on site.

Great setting, very quiet and fantastic scenery.

Only a few miles from Bala, for shops.

Don't miss the cafe in the Bala Leisure Centre - sounds strange but some of the best lunches we had all week and great value. Also next to the leisure centre is a great tourist information centre.

Great site and great holiday, will be back, hopefully the weather will be kinder next time.

We were here for a sailing regatta on Bala Lake over the August Bank Holiday weekend. A superb site in an excellent location. Good pot washing facilities, and toilets.

Didn't try WiFi since we were at the top of the site. A well cut grass pitch with plenty of space.

Would definitely return. Site shop sells eggs and milk. Nothing local in terms of shops but Bala a short drive away. Good confectioners and butchers.

All in all a most convivial weekend plus my son picked up second prize in the Junior section of the regatta.

Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay here (due to a family problem), but will do a review anyway. The welcome was very friendly, although we had to go searching for John & Pat as office was shut when we arrived, not a problem really as the site is relatively small. We were quickly booked in, shown to our pitch & left to get on with our pitching. The site itself is level, only one toilet/shower block which were always clean, a previous post complained about the toilets being closed for cleaning at an odd time, we didn't find this, they do the cleaning between 11 & 12 most people leaving would be away by then, newcomers wouldn't have arrived and anyone staying on site would more than likely be away for the day at that time. The site wi-fi is only any good if you're right by the office, we chose instead to use a mobile internet dongle on the Three network which worked perfectly. There is a small play park (a couple of swings and a slide) which were very popular while we were there.

If towing make sure you don't miss the turning in to the site once off the main road as the road is very narrow and turning round could be a problem, it'd be hard enough to turn round when not towing.

The town of Bala looks nice a few pubs and takeaways along with a Co-op and a Londis supermarket. Unfortunately we weren't there long enough to sample the local hospitality.

We hope to return very soon to finish our holiday.

Stayed for 3nights. Site itself is clean and tidy well looked

Toilets are very clean and well kept

Description of site is misleading as its not really the perfect place to explore snowdonia as its just on the edge of it and the wifi is a waste of time, as you can only get it 15 meters from the office, however very nice happy quiet site up with the best.

Bala itself is nice but I get the feeling its slowly going down as I compare it to 15 years ago, when it was full of windsurfers etc and thriving, it now just seems to be normal welsh town.

My only compliant is the site closes all the toilets at the same time for cleaning right on check out time 'not good if in a tent with kids '. May be good idea to clean them one at a time

All in all good site and would go back definitely recommend it.

Nice site, friendly staff and clean facilities. We had rain almost constant for the first few days so our pitch became a bit of a mud bath. Partly due to the fact we were under the shade of a large tree so on the few occasions the sun did come out we never benefited. It was suggested we moved for our second week which we did. Still not much sun as the site has quite a number of large trees but luckily the weather improved a bit.

We were placed next to the playground. Ideal as we do have children but did mean we constantly had children staring in!

Noise was not a real problem (dogs barking at a local kennels, mowers and a few sheep were to be expected) except for one weekend when a group arrived fairly late. Some slept in their cars the first night which resulted in a lot of door slamming late night and early morning. The next day they were all sat round a fire drinking early morning. This was a bad sign to us and sure enough after a day out we spent the evening listening to them singing (with music blaring)and giggling till the early hours.

Staff were all fast asleep and when mentioning it next morning, the warden claimed to have checked and heard and seen nothing! As it was the far end of the site we wonder how far they come down to actually check.

Cleaning times would be better later IMO. If we had a bit of a lay in followed by a leisurely breakfast we then had to rush about to get in and out the toilets/showers by 11 when they close. It might not seem too bad but when you desperately need to go 12. 30pm can seem a long time away!

We managed to work around it most days but on leaving normally we would all pop to the toilet just before heading off home. However we had to go almost an hour before we left the site which resulted in a stop not long after we had set off.

As for Bala itself there is a Co-op and Spar which sell most needed items. Also a camping shop there and a few cheapie places.

We had a meal in one of the cafes/fish and chip shops which was tasty and reasonable. Also drove to a nearby Farm Shop (on the main road to Llangollen if I remember correct)which is currently being rebuilt much bigger. Lots of local produce on sale and a good selection of frozen foods (fruits, roasted veg, pastries, potatoes etc)that you can buy by weight rather than pre packed.

The kids enjoyed a paddle in the lake and would have swam in it had the taken some footwear (rocky bottom). Instead they went in the local pool which is right by the lake and had a couple of hours in there. Lovely pool, with flume, and very clean and tidy. Cost £1. 70 each and an additional 70p for 5 turns on the flume.

This is a beautiful site, the scenery is breathtaking. The site itself is a few miles outside Bala and you have to be careful not to miss the turn-off as turning round is difficult.

The site managers are first class very friendly and helpful. They make sure that the 6m rule is adhered to. On entering the site there is a 5mph speed limit and a one way system. The pitches are well set out and of good size.

There is a shop on site selling basics. The shower blocks are brilliant very clean plus proper shower taps non of this pushing a button every minute to get a shower. There is a small play area for children, we no longer have kids but it seemed to be well used.

Downside are the insects I wasn't bitten too badly but my wife was eaten alive, and on the last day she was bitten by a Horse Fly which caused her hand to swell painfully for several days after.

Having said that we both agree that we will visit again.

Bala is a lovely place to visit with a good selection of shops and pubs, very pleasant sitting outside a pub watching the world go by, and is a magnet for bikers.

The Lake is well worth a visit plus there is a small steam train that stops just by the lake, we didn't use it this time but fully intend to next time.

Just returned from 9 great nights at this wonderful site.

The managers are very friendly and keep the place spot on.

Toilets and showers very clean at all times.

Bala is nice and handy for shopping there are 2 good butchers in town both selling quality meats. The local COOP is well stocked.

The local pubs are very good worth trying is the Purple Moose beer which is a local brew to the area.

Places visited nearby were Conwy Llandudno and Llangollan including the nearby Aquaduct.

There are plenty of walks around the area bought a book containing 20 but beware some are difficult due to hills and forest paths being overgrown.

Can recommend and would re visit

Well I had high hopes for this site after reading the reviews on here. However when we arrived We were greeted with a lecture on keeping at 5 miles an hour at all times, and as we had children in the car we were to ensure that they did not play any ball games, throw frisbees or scooter around the shower block!

Apart from those grumbles the site itself is clean and tidy there is a small play area with a swing and a slide for the children, and there is plenty of info on local activities to be found. I did however find it a bit out of the way if it is your intention to visit snowdon.

The local town of bala is a fair drive away with a few local shops, spar and sommerfields. The white Lion pub does a good carvery.

I think overall We will not be returning to this site
