Poor site outside of the Snowdonia National Park. Despite the name the site is also a long way from Bala, and even further from Lake Bala (8 miles).
Bad signs mean you are likely to miss the site and have to turn around when you can miles on. Not a good start and sadly it does get worse.
The campsite runs alongside a stream, and this means getting bit by flying insects. Add to this the barking dogs all night on neighbouring land and you begin to get the picture.
Not a campsite I could recommend to anyone.

Stayed at site for 2 weeks in August,
Managers very friendly and helpful, toilets and showers spotless, didn't need to queue for shower at all in 2 weeks that was there.
Well stocked shop on site selling local eggs, bacon, bread and other basics.
Great location for exploring Snowdonia, the scenery is fantastic.
Bala town centre only 5 mins drive with good selection of shops, butchers, bakers etc, good local pub food not far from site.
Bala lake just outside the town centre is great for a relaxing day in the sun enjoying the scenery, can park car right up to lakeside.
White water rafting centre 10 mins away which is great for kayaking.
Great 2 weeks and would visit again.

What a gem of a site! I'm almost afraid to review it on here, I'd rather keep it a secret. Only 3 and a bit miles from Bala, it's up a minor lane off the main road, so there's no disturbance from passing traffic which is absolutely minimal.
The site is flat as a billiard table, rare for Snowdonia, and is surrounded by trees and hedgerows. There is grass like a lawn, broken up with lines of trees, around which loops a tarmac track with a one-way system.
The facilities are on one side of the site, and they were absolutely immaculate. Showers had unlimited hot water whose temperature you could adjust yourself. Although I was pitched on the opposite side of the site, it's small enough that they were still fairly close.
The wardens have to be the friendliest staff I have met on any site; even during my short stay they found time for passing talk. Camping Club sites are far from cheap for non-members, but even so what I paid was quite competitive, and given the quality of the site, it was value for money in my opinion.

Pleasant little site, well situated to explore Snowdonia and North Wales.
The toilet and shower block was somewhat dark and spartan but was immaculately clean. There is a play area but this is not really a site for children with notices forbidding ball games, frisbees etc.
The site is very well sheltered by trees and so even when it is quite blustery, there is good protection from the elements.
The local area is not well blessed with nice places to eat out. We ended up visiting the White Lion Hotel in Bala where the sea food is to be recommended. There are also 2 supermarkets, Co-op and Spar in the town for provisions.
We had interesting days out to Snowdon, Conway and the canal aquaduct near Oswestry.
We enjoy walking with our dogs and took plenty of walking guides including the AA handbook for North Wales. Practically all of the walks are spoiled for dog owners because the local authorities in North Wales seem to make no provision for styles.
We find that in most other tourist areas throughout the UK, there is usually a trap door or gate of some sort next to the style. They do not provide this facility in North Wales and if you have 2 Labradors, it does become rather tiresome to have to carry them over styles including ladder styles and fences with barbed wire. For this reason, (nothing to do with the site) we will not be returning to North Wales for future holidays.

This site is all about the location. The views are lovely and the mountain stream running past the site just tops it all off. The facilities are very clean - only three showers, could do with a few more, perhaps? A mixture of grass and hardstanding pitches - we were fortunate to have hardstanding as the weather was so wet. Ideal for our dog, the walks nearby were perfect for him. The site wardens were great - they placed in the ideal spot next to the play area, and were very helpful throughout our stay. It is a short drive into Bala where there is a Spar and a Somerfield, a top butcher and some nice coffee shops and restaurants. There is loads to do in the area and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite the miserable weather - can't wait to go back.

We stayed at Bala over the busy Easter weekend but it was lovely and peaceful. No complaints. Everybody extremely friendly and very helpful. Although due to previous rain the dog walk was not recommended there were plenty of places to walk with our 2 dogs. I liked the way the vans weren't on top of each other. Would definitely stay here again. Recommended if you like a peaceful site with lovely views.

This is a very nicely kept site. Pitches are of a decent size and well set out. Grass is mown almost as soon as someone leaves. The toilets and shower block is immaculately kept and spotlessly clean, with an adjustable temperature on the showers. The shop is very small and only really sells milk, eggs etc. The area is lovely only approx 45mins from Snowdon. We also had a nice stream running behind our caravan.

Lovely Peaceful Site.
Showers and Toilets immaculate - Plenty of Hot Water and lots of Space Fantastic!
Made to feel very welcome on arrival and small shops stocks the basics and treats like Ice Cream.
Small Children's play area but otherwise not much for them to do as no ball area, but plenty to do in area - and my older Children really enjoyed the stay.
Would Stay again!

Stayed here the last weekend it was open for the season (closed the day we left), still maintained beautifully even though there were only about 3 groups there. Very wet weather but a really well kept site. Staff put us in a protected corner away from the wind and even allowed us to use the laundry room to eat out of the wet. A really good quiet site away from any distractions that would attract a groups wanting more active nightlife. Easy access to Snowdonia etc.

We spent a lovely long weekend here in June. The site is excellent. It is lovely and quiet and the facilities are immaculate. The wardens must be big gardening fans as the flower beds around the site are beautiful and the grounds are very well kept. It feels more like camping in a garden than a campsite!
The site is about 5 minutes drive outside the town of Bala and there is plenty to do in the area.
This site is not too far from where we live and we are really looking forward to a return visit in the near future.
