Very well kept, quiet immaculate site. The toilet block, showers dishwashing and laundry facilities were spotless and the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. As previously written the site has a small shop open limited times in the day. As a tip if you see the shop door open then they will serve you out of hours. The site is situated 3 miles from the centre of Bala (10 min drive). Bala town has more than enough shops to keep you well stocked up in all the essentials. The surrounding area provides breathtaking scenery and enough adventure / outdoor activities for all tastes and ages. Although they have a small play area my lad was disappointed that he could not play football anywhere but this was the only negative point (if you could call it that) that I could think of about the site.
Lots of flat ground for tents, plenty of electric hookups and hardstanding should you require it. The campsite is very well landscaped and looked after by the onsite wardens.
If you like your mobile phones then forget it it as the signal strength was poor or non-existent unless you venture into town. (Orange and Vodaphone anyway). I personally saw this as a positive point.
Would definitely go again.

A lovely well kept site 3 miles outside bala. Spent a week here in wet and windy conditions but still didnt put a damper on such a lovely site. We had hardstanding but the grass had realy good drainage considering all the rain. The wash blocks were spotless but you had to walk to the carpark to the rubbish bins. Overall a gem of a site which I look forwarding to return.

This site is set in fab countryside, with not much else surrounding. Go with everything you need if you plan on staying soley on site, although there is a little shop with the basics, but it is only open 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, it may open longer in high season.
It is a small site and is kept immaculately, the cleanest, well kept site I have ever stayed on. All the amenities (hot controlable showers, toilets, hairdryer, laundry (all use 20ps), wash up room, are in pristine condition they even have a rotary washing line for you to use.
The pitches are of a decent size. Some areas are very boggy after rain and the ground is quite stoney.
There is a small play area for the kids, with 2 swings and a slide.
Porthmadog is about 40 mins drive away and Bala town about 10 minutes.
A great site for a relaxing break, we loved it and will return.

Countryside location with very little road noise.
10 minute drive to Bala centre.
This is a very small site, which added to the atmosphere of this location. We were very impressed with the friendly manner of the site wardens. From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and ready to do things at our own pace.
We used the site as a base to explore North Wales and during our stay visited Snowdon, Llandudno, Porthmadog, Barmouth & Colwyn Bay; which were all within an hours drive from the site.
The children's play park is very small & basic; there is nowhere for ball games, so teens may find it fairly boring! I'm sure the Camping & Caravanning Club could make more effort to cater for youngsters at their sites.
Apart from this negative, the site is very well looked after and we would recommend this site as the perfect get-away retreat for a quiet & peaceful time.
Toilets & showers were maintained in good condition.

We've just got back from this site and I must say we had a lovely weekend. It was bank holiday weekend and the site was full but still nice and quiet. About 3 miles from Bala but only about 24 miles from Betws y Coed and possibly an hour's drive from Dolgellau, which is a nice little town. An immaculate site, the pitching areas are separated by lines of trees so you don't feel as if you're in a huge field. There's a fenced-off dog walk which is a nice size and has a stream running alongside. The site is in the middle of farmland but I overhead someone complaining about the sheep being noisy - I suppose you can't please everyone! Definitely on our list for going again - with the added bonus of only being an hour from home for us!

Nice quiet campsite, very friendly staff and very clean facilities. The surrounding area was lovely and good for walking. However, the shop is not very stocked and it is about 5 miles to the nearest shop. So remember to stock up on all your essentials. There is a place called Glassblobbery about 4 miles down the road where they make glass ornaments by hand. I would definitely recommend a visit.

September 2005 We camped here on the first weekend of September 2005.
Lovely site. Very tidy. Very clean facilities. Excellently placed to explore the sites of North Wales.
A little outside the town of Bala (about 3 miles along a fast and busy road) but it was easy enough to get a taxi there and back.
Would thoroughly recommend it and will certainly be visiting again.

September 2003 What an Immaculate site! just 3 miles North of Bala Lake (1/2 mile off A494)and surrounded by beautiful hills & mountains. This site is well worth a visit - David & Linda do a superb job, they are very friendly and the site is a credit to them.
This is a C&CC site (Non-members welcome) the facilities are great with heated shower & Toilet blocks, no clutter, good sized pitches and a small shop in reception. Usual laundry and washing up facilities (indoors)a nice play area for the kids too.
This is a perfect base for a touring or walking holiday or a peaceful relaxing weekend. We can't wait to go back.
