Good basic site, nice and flat. Mix of tents, caravans, glamping bell tents and statics. Showers and facilities are ok, nothing special.
Small shop on site. Good location for golf. Local pub is friendly and serves usual grub.
Local beach is amazing, huge stretch of yellow sand and seals off shore. Recommended.

Just had a couple of nights on this site, what a lovely site got a pitch overlooking the golf course looking out to sea, great watching the sun go down.
Not set up for motor homes we managed, we used our whale to put water on board and a water container to get rid of it. Drove down to Southend what a lovely spot go through the village and there is a car park you can stop at over looking the sea you could wild camp there.
We could not get to the light house as our camper is to big, next time. We will be back.
Try going over on the ferry its great then we drove back round to Loch Lomand good trip.

Stayed in June - originally we were going to stay in a static caravan but there was a bell tent available so decided, after a bit of thought, to go for a bit of 'glamping'.
Really glad we did! You get a proper bed, nice bedclothes, a fridge, an iPod dock and the most amazing view to Jura.
It certainly wasn't the uncomfortable type of camping in tents that I remember from years ago. Fab.

Stayed just the one night over a Bank Holiday.
Owner very helpful and accommodating when allocating a pitch. As a previous reviewer has said, the facilities are dated but adequate. Dishwashing area is particularly good.
Also used the smaller, alternative, shower area. Water in the sink was not hot but shower was fine.
Good views across the surrounding area. Short grass for pitches.
The site was very busy but nice and quiet at night.

We loved this site. Pitched on a ridge looking out over the ocean with the golf course in between. The facilities are old fashioned but excellent. We used the 'other' toilets and showers because they were nearer. Not heated (although the main ones are) but plenty warm enough for us. Loads of room to dress and get dried. Electric showers that are fully adjustable. Owner very welcoming and pleasant. Beaches are beautiful. Machrihanish 9 hole golf course (The Pans) only £10 for a day ticket and not busy at all. The main 18 hole course is much busier and more expensive but we were happy with the 9 hole. Challenging and well maintained.
We came to this site from Island of Arran (Lochranza to Cloanig). An easy and pleasant drive. Thoroughly recommended.
We'll definitely be back.

Enjoyed most of April on this most relaxing site. Owner welcoming & helpful, allowing us to chose our pitch. All grass but very well drained & firm. Plenty of water points, two toilet/shower blocks, (1 heated), good dog walking with lovely views to Islay & Jura. Good meals at the 'Old Clubhouse', 15min walk away, 10% off for folk staying on site! Not for you if you need all 'bells & whistles', but a lovely area for chilling out, with great walks on the Kintyre Way & on the beach. During the summer much easier to reach via the ferry from Ardrossan to Campbeltown.

Previously visited in 2009, still one of our favourite sites. It was £16 for a grass pitch with EHU, amazing views, brilliant dark skies for star gazing and total peace & quiet: what's not to like? Contrary to a previous review, we had a warm welcome and were reminded that there are two toilet blocks (i. E. Two sets of showers) at either end of the site; one block was heated. There's a static for campers to use, which is a great idea for tenters - we had strong winds which made sitting outside difficult, though the wind did keep the midges away (amazed they were still out and biting this late in the season).
We came down Kintyre via another site, and went back to the mainland on the ferry from Campbeltown to Ardrossan (it stops for the season at the end of September). This made a loop, saved us driving time, and the views of Arran were fantastic. Two adults, motorhome up to 6m, £106.

What a lovely site, next to Macrihanish Golf Course. I spent 6 nights here with my Son. The staff were friendly the site was full with Motorhomes, Caravans, static Caravans, wigwams Bell tents and tents. Weather was good too. There is a pub/restaurant about 1/2 mile in Macrihanish. Campbeltown is 5miles away and Southend - Mull of kintyre is about 11 miles with 2 beaches and a really good tea room.
This Campsite is well worth a visit.

Well what can I say about this wee gem of a site. Firstly the warden is just fantastic, He made us feel so welcome from the minute we rolled in. This site is not for you if you want the bells and whistles instead of the calmness and scenery. There is a basic toilet block but very clean, a wee shop and on site laundry facility. There is crazy golf and a lovely hidden garden by the river. There is a lovely beach nearby and also a bird watching hut just at the end of Machrihanish. Campbelltown is a short drive away and there are buses that go right by the gate.

We stayed for a week at Machrihanish Holiday Park. The park is well laid out. There was a warm welcome from the warden (who sensibly tries to discourage drunken bikers from disrupting the life of the site to the benefit of all other users). There is a well stocked shop, a fun crazy golf area, a beautiful wild garden, FANTASTIC views of the beach, and a superb dog walking area. The static caravans are the ultimate in luxury - fridge, freezer, central heating, microwave, hot shower, plenty of storage places, 32' TV and blu-ray DVD. Immaculate and well appointed. Beautiful views of the beach. A short (10 minute) walk to Machrihanish itself where there is a world renowned golf course, plenty of restaurants and an amazing beach. This is a place of calm and tranquillity. The nicest caravan park I've ever been to. Come. Stay. Come back again.
