This was our first visit to Lanyon Park, and what a great place to camp, close to all activities and attractions.
The weather however was very touch and go with wind and rain, but the site was fantastic, with hot showers which were cleaned on a regular basis, indoor washing up facilities with fridges and freezers for use.
We have done a lot of camping over the years and have to say this has to be one of our top sites.
Would recommend this site and would visit it again.

A great location for visiting western Cornwall, easy access to north and south resorts. On top of a hill, so we were often in the clouds, and there was a lot of morning mist. Toilets were cleaned regularly. Pitch sizes were big enough for our 6 berth and extension, and additional tents are no extra charge. Great that we were not limited to minimum 7 days/ Saturday to Saturday unlike some other sites. Staff were quick to respond when there was a messy problem in the showers. Great to have a pool for the kids. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a family friendly site.

Very well kept campsite, owners deserve praise for the way it looks. Friendly staff and easy going feel to the place. Washroom facilities ok though a little dated. Gold pitches are spacious and don't get boggy with rain, but top camping field is lacking in space for kids to play. Club is really just a bar, didn't try food but looked ok. The entertainment in school holidays is a seventies cabaret and a kareoke night, not great for young ones. Altitude of location meant site was shrouded in low cloud every morning unless it was going to be totally clear skies for the day, damp starts to every day get depressing! Swimming pool is small but pleasant and is properly warm. The kids play area is looking a little tired and won't hold attention of kids older than about eight. The local Tesco is convenient and The Countryman pub a mile away serves good food and excellent choice of beer!

Just returned from our first visit to Lanyon. It's an excellent site with clean facilities and helpful staff. It's a nice relaxed site, they even provided 2 fridges and a freezer in the laundry room. You can easily travel to most part of Cornwall. It's got a big supermarket just a couple of miles away. You're on the top of a hill so it can be a bit misty at times. I think the site is fantastic and would recommend it to anyone

The site was spacious and tidy. Showers and toilets were always clean. Staff always helpful and informative of area and amenities. We travelled with a friend (tent camper), this made 3 adults, 4 teenagers and 7 dogs altogether. The owners were very accommodating and provided us a double pitch near the dog exercise area - a large field that was ideal to run off some early morning energy. The teens loved the games room and we did sample the nightime entertainment which was very good. The pool is small but indoors and as the weather was so bad the kids made good use of it.
Can't fault the site, the only thing that let us down was the weather. The site is high up and we were in permanent cloud and drizzle with just one bright day. Lovely walking from site and shops nearby, one walking distance away for most everyday needs.
As we have 4 dogs it was nice that we were welcomed as many sites have a maximum of two. We were judged on standard of behaviour and not quantity which is nice.
Would definitely stay here again if visiting Cornwall.

Super little site, ideal for families.
Location is ideal for exploring the West of Cornwall and within easy reach of good beaches e.G. Portreath, St Agnes, Perranporth, Hayle etc. Nothing much going on in Redruth but 24 hr tesco 10 minute drive. 'The Track' BMX centre nr Portreath also a big hit with kids but recommend paying membership fee if going more than once as otherwise sessions (all day) are £10 each.Kids over 12 can be left unattended.
Welcome at site very friendly and staff more than willing to help when we wanted to extend our stay on the same pitch. Small but friendly bar with reasonably priced bar snacks. Swimming pool open dawn till dusk and unlike many other sites genuinely heated!
We stayed in Fox field which is at bottom of site - camping field at top was illogically more boggy! Pitch size very good and mostly level, 10m I would say - accommodated our 8m x 8m Wynnster Mercury very well. We had EHU and drinking water supply to every other pitch.
New shower block in this field was very good although one constructive criticism would be the sinks - they are really not big enough and need to be housed as they are in the older blocks. But a small gripe which should not detract - the owners clearly have a pride in maintaining the park to a high standard.
Small children's playground and trampoline next to bar/swimming pool. Large areas in middle of each field for games playing. Dog walking field also had a goal set up for football.
Overall we would highly recommend this site - it may not be in the most sought after location but it is great base for West Cornall.

We have had our static at Lanyon for just over a year now and could not fault Lanyon Holiday Park. The laundry facilities can be busy at the height of the season, however Jamie has added a new washer and dryer this year and a new toilet block.
The staff are all very polite and helpful, even when the weather is foul and holiday makers are not in the best of moods! Last year was a terrible summer but despite the awful weather Jamie and the team managed to get rid of the mud somehow. It is dog friendly with a big paddock to walk dogs.
I would recommend Lanyon to anyone looking for a quiet holiday in a beautiful area

My Wife and I have been visiting Lanyon Holiday Park since 2002, We visit Lanyon several times a year, because we like it so much there.
It is a very well laid out site with separate areas for Statics, Tourers and Tents, This is a family run business for families.
On site there is a heated swimming pool,
Restaurant with a games room, a play area for youngsters and a Trampoline for older children
There has also been a brand new Toilet / Shower / Laundrette facility installed this year, all toilets are kept nice and clean.
Local shops are about a half mile away in Four Lanes village, and the nearest beach is Portreath approx five miles.
The Tourer and Tent paddocks are laid out with new hedging between each unit, The Static Paddock is not the usual formal type of site, it is slightly sloping with trees, shrubs and flowers around the area, altogether Lanyon is a nice friendly place to be.

We had 11 nights here at the end of August, and would happily return. Although the weather was grim (in case anyone didn't notice!) The toilets and facilities were always clean (done at least 3 times a day, often more), never easy when parts of the site were knee deep in mud. You can't blame the management for that! Yes, the facilities did seem a little dated - porta-cabin loos in one part, but I felt they were well spaced out, so there didn't seem to be long walks to them and very well thought out. Small things like three hooks on the back of the shower, several clothes pegs instead of one, fresh flowers in the grottiest loos made me smile! I never had to wait once, which I can honestly say has never happened in August before. Also they had a bath and hair driers, fridge and freezer, and lots more all provided free.
The site was full when we arrived, and we received a very warm welcome from the owner. He showed us where to pitch, apologised for the mud - bless, and showed us other pitches we could try if we preferred. The allocated pitch fitted our large (is it a marquee?) Vango Amazon 800 tent.
The club was lovely, not Haven (Thank God!) with light hearted entertainment on most evenings. The food looked really nice, didn't try it however, eating out anywhere, even MacDonalds is too expensive for us with 5 children. We didn't notice much of a problem with noise, there are always one or two noisy Nellies on a camp site, but there was no more noise than you'd expect and accept at this busy time of year.
There was a small pool which we had an entertaining hour in, a play-area with swings, slide etc, goal posts for the footy-mad, a trampoline. So, had the ruddy weather bucked up, there were things for the kids to do.
We called in at reception for information on local area, and received lots of friendly help as well as discount vouchers, even for the local leisure centre.
All in all, I felt it was very good value for money, in a good location for visiting all of west Cornwall, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Homely, welcoming and with a lovely family feel. Possibly not though, what you would call shiny and new.

+ve Great location, reception helpful. Site clean, small pool available, bar onsite.
-ve toilet block was old small and cramped with only one shower. Other showers available but were already been heavily used. Not enough facilities for number of people using the site. We couldn't get our washing dry after a week as driers always in use.
Could be a great site with a little more investment!
